  1. Not really an update. But spent yesterday evening sorting my fanny fart exhaust. The collector on the mani sits slightly angled and so pulled the decat funny so it blew around the donut. Solution, bought a 10" flexi pipe, chopped it about and welded it in. Sorted. So much better. And for reference, anyone who has a straight through decat and wants to reduce the rasp, the flexi takes a couple of Db off it. Couple of goodies to go on this weekend. Plus @Honda Paul coming over to help me sort this friggin rattle.

  3. Hi guys, this is the aerodeck that I picked up last night for £125 it's motd and taxed, has full leather interior and a tow bar. Bodywork is generally very good with now scuffs or rust on the arches, wee sent on passengers door and te drivers door has rust and handle has tape over it along with the wing mirror. When I went to view it it was apparent that it had a pretty bad oil leak used this to my advantage though, as under investigation I spotted it was just a hole in the oil filter, told the guy it must be a gasket and will cost a lot Plans are to take all the good bits off my mb6, brakes, hubs, wheels, exhaust etc and fit them to the deck. Il remove the door and wing mirror and front lip and get a price on getting them painted by my mates brother. All suspension components will get swapped over and eventually the engine once I rebuild it. I managed to get the oil, filter and plugs done tonight after my 12hr shift. Really really needs a clean inside and out, hope to do this at weekend. Here's some quick pics from tonight... The holy filter lol

  4. Thanks mate. I got the bumper off today but struggled to get the crash bar off in order to pull out the headlights. The bolts were rusted and too tight. So put everything back together and went to mates garage for help, he said the bolts need to be heated and come back tomorrow as he was just about to close. Took some pics of his and my car there.

  16. Generally 5th is fine - pretty much the same as before to be honest. The main thing I've noticed is i can do 60 at a touch under 3k, where before it was around 56 at 3k.

  19. Cheers James. I did the trim after I took that photo, I use auto finesse for that. Start to finish: bilt hamber snow foam, dodo btbm shampoo, bh soft clay, megs 205 with a black finishing pad, collinite everlasting wax then trim and glass were done and I went over with dodo juice qd.

  20. I think it is specifically the 180 as thats the only one i find any reference to it being a quick rack. And i totally agree about polly bushes ive used them before n find they dont last long either so i always use hardend rubber ones n stiffen with some resin where i can. And as to camber arms they can damage ur car if its too low but wen lowering any car camber should be checked n reset to factory settings otherwise this could cause very bad handleing or tyre ware or both and i want to be able to fine tune the settings of the car so i can get her perfect. Im currently bugging people on my mg owners club to find out if its only the 180 n if someone has one for me to buy

  31. Not certain on that, but I believe 180 only. Did find another forum post that suggests no also: http://forums.mg-rover.org/showthread.php?t=516834 Actually, there's a MG ZS mark 2 rack on eBay now, actually a few, but most seem to say "fits MG ZS mk2", which the lower ratio racks will. Misleading methinks...?

  41. Been a while since I updated this, mainly due to DD hibernating in the garage over winter. She's been to a meet this year though, her first outing being the scottish meet/run. So, had her up to RJM Performance yesterday for her MOT. Wasnt sure really how it would go, as it sometimes does more harm than good being kept of the road. But as always, and keeping up her record of never failing an MOT, she passed with flying colours! Roy was even commenting how tidy she was looking, so was a nice feeling to know shes in top condition. And how many miles has she covered in 1 year?? 700 miles! lol Have added another mod to her, will get the pics up when I get the chance. Got her a set of Clim-Air wind deflectors. Was a hassle tho, as the first set arrived smashed to a thousand bits! Second set were perfect though, and looks good with her already having the sunroof wind deflector too. Also got a bit of bling for the engine bay too, so will get that fitted and get pics up!

  42. Adding to the list of responses that all say the same, but to confirm, I've put a DC2 rack in a couple of years back and it's exactly the same lock to lock. The only difference you'll get is more easily changed inner rods, but the only problem with the MB6/MC2 inner rods is that they're pretty tough to get off but not impossible. On the MG rack, yes, the mark 2 MGZS has a faster rack & everything I've seen and read suggests it goes in absolutely fine. Finding one is not easy; the mark 2's are rare & there's a ton of racks available from earlier MGs that will fit but are the same ratio as our Ms. Someone might be able to post up definite part numbers for the post-2004 mark 2 MGZS racks?? Anyways, reckon you're on the right track with alternative improvements. A fast rack on a front-engined car isn't going to help unless you've super sticky tyres or an equivalent lump of metal over the rear; the faster the steering ratio, the less precise control over the steering direction and the easier it is to oversteer, leading to lack of traction & an understeer situation in cornering. Adding stiffness with ARBs and braces is a good move. Poly'ing makes a big difference to stiffness and steering feedback, but be prepared for squeaks and suspension performance that deteriorates throughout an extended spirited drive; this is where rubber always wins & why after various tries with poly I went back to hardened rubber. Camber adjustment; definitely if dropping at all, even if only 15-20mm. And definitely, definitely get the geom sorted. I drove for months with mediocre geom, the tyre wear was awful as was the handling, even though it 'felt' better than stock was sooo much better after a proper setup.

  44. Will post it up once it is complete as there will be a step by step guide along with it for anyone looking to do a turbo conversion (grant). We have all the bits for it now excluding the turbo downpipe and the oil and water feed lines. So far it's only cost us 750 for all the parts comprising Manifold 200sx garrett ar48 turbo Intercooler and piping kit Walbro 255lph fuel pump Wastegate and screamer pipe 550cc evo injectors Stage 2 clutch Socketed p28 ecu This all for a d15b2 should take it from 90bhp to a health 230/240bhp. More than enough for the missus to be driving round in.

  45. Sounds decent. Exhaust needs a tiny tweak just to get it sitting in the centre of the cut out. Sorry OCD. http://civic5.com/forum/index.php/topic/457-dummies-guide-how-to-remove-front-bumper-mbs/ Pics have been deleted but you don't really need them, easy job.
