I think the bore is larger on the vti exhaust mate, although it could probably be modded to fit if its just from the cat back. Got a full cat back Powerflow on my 1.6ES deck, which we got built for it a good few years ago. Really good system which is near standard noise on normal driving, but has a nice deep tone to it if pushing on.Good quality too, but sometimes depends on where it was made.

Meet Roxy! Daves Honda Civic TypeR FN2 (UPDATE: Roxy waving goodbye to Civic5)
Dave replied to Dave's topic in Other cars
Lol@UnicyclingTom Well,Gayle said a huge big no to the Accord last night! Lol so looks like that's out of the running, which is a shame as I've seen a few really nice modded ones. So, go na go for new wheels and see if it makes her any better. Not sure yet which ones to go for, but seriously considering 17's. With the right style, they should hopefully look good.- 340 replies

Meet Roxy! Daves Honda Civic TypeR FN2 (UPDATE: Roxy waving goodbye to Civic5)
Dave replied to Dave's topic in Other cars
Not done anything to Roxy lately (apart from a new tyre after the civic5 meet! lol) other than give her a good valet and get her all polished and waxed for the winter coming. But have to say, the last few days of driving her, I'm considering selling her again. Not sure if it's just me or the car, but the last few days we've drove quite a lot in Edinburgh, where the roads are pretty crap. And last night when we got home, I said to Gayle "that was the worst drive I've ever been on, cringing over the least wee bump in the road". Really was so uncomfortable! And Gayle agreed! I'm just getting to the point where the stupidly stiff suspension is pissing me off too much! We've talked about getting rid of the 19" alloys, as they're a pain when trying to avoid kerbs etc and punctures. And the rubber band tyres only make the ride worse. Thoughts were about possibly getting a set of 17's, maybe Rotas. Not sure if they would look too small, although Krzys EP3 alloy actually looked ok on her during the civic5 run, and some of the fn2's on civinfo look ok on 17's. Who knows, I just want some more comfort now when driving. Thing is, I think the suspension being to stiff could be weather related! She was ok-ish through the summer, but now the temp has dropped a big bit up here, she seems a lot stiffer than before, to the point where it's actually unbearable (for us anyways). So not sure how much difference new (smaller) wheels would make? Don't want to throw money away on wheels only to find it's still unbearable. Sooo, looked at possible replacements again, and decided to stay Honda. The one thats standing out at the moment is the 08/09 model Accord (facelift) and an EX model. Think they look pretty good, and with it being the EX, tons of toys as standard. Also would be making the switch to deisel, which is so unlike me! Nevre liked em before, but the 2.2 has decent specs and good mpg. Already had a look whats on offer for mods (styling only this time) and there's a decent lip kit for it which makes it more aggresive looking. Just need to drive one and see what theyre like. Only trouble is....................Gayle doesnt like the Accords!! Thinks they look boring! lol Not sure what to do! Keep her? Sell her?- 340 replies

Did your mechanic bleed the hydraulic system for the clutch when he replaced the fluid? How does the clutch pedal feel? Is it normal or does it feel quite heavy? What kind of travel is there on the clutch pedal? Symptoms could point to a worn synchro as Krzys suggested, or a worn clutch. I had a problem with my mb6 changing gear from 1st to 2nd (but only at high revs) which would result in a grinding noise, and I got the clutch replaced and no more problems. I kinda knew the clutch was on its way out though from previous weeks driving. But try the cheaper routes first as it aint cheap to get the clutch changed in these! One thing I would recommend is going back to your mechanic after driving it around for about a week, and ask him to try and top up the gearbox. As said above, the oil should be all around the components by then, so if it's needing topped up (which if its only had 1.9 litres, then it deffo will!) there will be space for more oil to go in. Then try it see how it feels. If still the same, check the mounts (theres also a mount to the rear of the engine which can cause all kinds of probs if it's worn) make sure theyre ok. Then check the gear selector linkages for play. If theres a lot of play in them, then that will make engaging gears more difficult. So, to check... 1. Gearbox oil level......top up after a week of driving. 2. Ask if clutch system has been bled. 3. Gear linkage, check for play. If a lot is present, replace with a good 2nd hand one. 4. Check engine/gearbox mounts for excessive play/deterioration. 5. Check clutch pedal travel. If a lot, think about replacing clutch. 6. If changing clutch, might be a good idea to have box checked (synchros etc) (which will be expensive!) 7. If synchros are gone, may be cheaper to source a 2nd hand box.

Gonna be a tidy daily that mate! Yeah those fogs are the larger foglight option, which are getting to be really hard to find nowadays.
-
oooooooooooo! Santas came to your house early this year!!!!!! Lots of tasty stuff there mate, not jealous or nuffin! lol
-
If you find the civic ones arent listed, the rover 400/45/mgzs ones will fit
-
Oh almost forgot! Are you getting any error message when you try to upload photos? I've uploaded photos from my phone before I think (had to use forum full theme, not mobile though) without any probs. If theres an error code or anything, send it to me in a pm and I'll look into mate

Really sweet vtis youve picked up mate, looks spot on! And yes those are the original alloys that are on it bud, as Tom says, early VTiS comes with those speedline chronos, the later ones had the speedline fans. Any idea which coilovers are fitted at the moment? The MeisterR's are in my opinion the best by far. Excellent quality, superb handling and available staright off the shelf. Theres also the bonus of a discount as MeisterR are official Civic5 traders and have an offer on at the moment. Power wise, all depends on how you want to go/how much money you have available. Staying naturally aspirated or turbo route? Loving your other cars too! That Evo is sex on wheels! Not many standard looking ones around now, so good job finding that one. Enjoy the site mate!

Is it still four quid mate? If so, will get that done when I get in from college tomorrow
-
Looks like a tidy Golf mate, liking the colour aswell. Nice car to have a s a daily, plus means you can go mad with mods on the mb6 as it's not used daily
-
@Grant did I add the postage to my payment to you mate or do I still need to send it to you? Can't remember lol If still needed, let me know and I'll paypal it across to ya

She's a beaut mate!! Sorry to see you sell but understand the circumstances. Someones gonna get a very special car!

Check with Honda mate, get them to list part numbers for different civic m's for the sensors. As far as I'm aware, all models have the same ones, the only difference could be the vti/vtis
-
Or the bonding around the windscreen mate. It does tend to fail after so many years. Hard to find where water gets in, but if you remove all the plastic trim around the screen, and the scuttle panel, you should be able to run sealent discreetly around the whole screen. That should hopefully cure it.

The shine on that before the show is bloody amazing!!! Really shows off the pb! Top work on the door trims mate, always thought they look so much better in black. The standard vti trim looks horrible on them eh!

Yes, a full service would be your best bet mate, and would also maybe highlight any other wee probz that might need doing. Good wee base for a project though! What plans you got for her?
-
Cup holder looks good mate! Agree these should have been standard fitment to all civic m's, as the storage/cupholder situation is shocking! The cup holders weren't even offered as an option/ accessories on our civics!
-
Lol @tom! Rocker cover looks superb mate, and loving the white/purple theme.

You should keep her! Coming along nicely mate

Dave replied to Dexter's topic in Honda Civic MA/MB/MC
Always loved this deck! Looking really sweet mate! Been thinking about adjusting the springs on DD, to see what differences it will make. Maybe better putting her in for a proper frsu though, as I know most about the bump/rebounds lol- 883 replies
