lol I know Krzys, just thinking about other customers who may not be so clued up as us. They'd probably take it as gospel that they have to use those tyres. I'd be chopping them in for Conti's or GoodYears when they needed changing.

I've been in and saw it twice now. It does look a lot better in the metal than in the photos, but to me Honda have stupidly "flawed" it. They decided to make the new TypeR a 5 door, so it's more practical and suited to everyone. Then why oh why.........................only 2 seatbelts in the rear?????? What the hell is the point of making it a 5 door (and therfore heavier) if it's only gonna be a 4 seater. Seems totally nuts to me. The FN2 is the same.........only two belts, but the TypeS has 3. Them tyres! Designed and made specificaly for the new TypeR, *Honda recommend and advise not to change these for any other tyre, because they are specific to the car and it's handling. They cost around £300-£400 each, and you get 6000 miles out of them! So reckon on at least £1200 a year on tyres if you drive the uk average of 12000 miles a year. Oh, and dealers have been advised to inform new owners that the car can be dodgy in the wet! Due to said tyres being designed for dry roads (and a certain dry road in Germany at that!) they are more like road legal slicks. So customers are being advised that if driving on roads that have a fair bit of surface water, the car WILL aquaplane! They build the car in Britain, for British roads, British weather and the car is dodgy in the rain/wet conditions??? FFS, we have rain most of the year in the UK!! Christ knows what it would be like in the snow then!! Having been in the new TypeR, it's nice yeah, but doubt I'll be buying one. Maybe in a few years time when they reach sensible money, but not now. * Honda obviously will have some deal going with Pirelli so will want to keep customers buying that tyre

Very common fault mate. It can be from either around the windscreen, or the sunroof drains, or the drain channels on the roof itself. Most common though is the windscreen. You need to carefully take off the trim around the windscreen (on the outside) then, starting from the bottom, work your way up the screen till you spot the leak. It's time consuming and a pain, but once you know where it is, its easy enough to fix. Or just silicon round the whole screen, but use good quality sealer. Tiger seal is really good!

A hundred quid?? Jammy! That's gotta be a bargain, especially as it passed its MOT! Looking forward to seeing the mods guys!

Check out DAVEMB2 K26 MB2 mate, as he has camber kit on this. As said above, go for a quality one, not one of the Ebay specials which are known to be weak.

Always looks stunning Simon, love your deck! Can't believe she's got that mileage on her! Still going strong!

Best bet is to get it straight from Honda imo mate. I shopped around for a decent battery, and found that the OEM Honda battery was cheaper than aftermarket ones (which surprised me!). Plus that way, you know you're getting exactly the right battery for it

My deck is on MiesterR's so not much help I'm afraid. Think most here are on coilovers, although know that there are deffo some on konis.

Congrats on the new house and garage! Double garage ftw!!! Liking this accord mate, get some new rims for it soon! Will look sweet! I've got the connects 2 kit in my FN2, all plug n play, good bit of kit.

Alright chaps and chapesses! As most of you will know, Gayle and I have been together for a while now, and the time has just flown by. Well, watched the Cockenzie Power Station chimneys came down which was a big event for our wee part of Scotland, from Gayles bedroom window. Perfect view! Both Gayle and I grew up around the area, and the famous landmark has always been a part of our lives, so was kinda sad to see them coming down. Straight after that, we had a wedding to go to, and when we were at the reception that night, live band playing, drinks flowing and everything just perfect, I plucked up the courage........................................and proposed to Gayle! Lucky for me she said yes!!! lol It seemed so right to get engaged on such a memorable day. So we're now officially engaged. It's a massive step, but one I know is right. I had the darkest time of my life after losing Dawn, thinking I'd never be happy or with someone again. But Gayle came into my life and she's been such a rock, really helping me through everything, and showed me that life is for living. I know Dawn will be looking down smiling, and would be so happy that I've found someone so genuinely nice, caring and loving. We both feel so happy right now, and life's good! Not too sure on a date yet, as we both have a lot going on with Uni/College, but as long as we're together, that's all that matters. Can't believe we're going to be getting married! Just wanted to share the news with all our friends here on Civic5

I think the best way to cure it would be to get some grease, and grease the mechanism (return spring etc) on the throttle body where the cable joins onto it. You'll find the grease makes it work more smoothly, as the oil tends to thin out as it runs elsewhere. Hopefully, that should cure it. If not, then check the entire cable incase it's getting snagged somewhere, as even the slightest kink in the cable will affect it. If the cable looks ok, then have a look at the end where it goes onto the accelerator pedal. Even though its only happened since cleaning the bay, it could be a coincidence so best to check at the pedal too. Hope this helps bud

This just keeps getting better and better. Rear lip really does change the look of the MB's eh! They should have come standard with the kit on, although that would kill our modding fun! I'm still contemplating fitting the rear lip and sideskirts to DD, had them sitting there for years! lol

lmao True, but sometimes still regret selling Ruby (again!) The deck is here to stay though that's a promise! Soooo many reasons not to sell DD ever. Funny, even though shes not fast, still love driving her more than Roxy (although Roxy does have the fun factor!). But the deck just ticks all the boxes............comfortable, smooth, practical...................and looks like nothing else on the road! Thats the beauty of the decks! -
The new clutch fluid will make a huge difference, especially if the old stuff looked bad mate.

Yes mate, been a few on here. The first one was Rich (civicturbo) which was a beast! Been a lot more on here since then, have a look through the projects, or use the search thingy. Some crackers!

It's really hard to tell from the pic mate. What might be a good idea is to get under there with a heavy duty engine cleaner such as "Gunk". Clean the whole area and hose/power wash it all off. That way, your starting with a clean base and it will soon be apparent where that oil is coming from. It may be from an old leak that has since been sorted, so best to clean it all up and then watch over a week or so to see where it's coming from. Might also be a good idea to get the levels checked once again, and if need be, change the gearbox oil. It's one of the hardest places to determine a fault, the gearbox. The bent fork I think would possibly show the fault all the time, whether cold or warm. If the fork was bent, then you would get the same problem changing gear all the time. I too would imagine the main fault now to be the clutch itself. How long/many miles has the clutch done to your knowledge? If unknown, then it could be a really old clutch now and may be due for a replacement. I know I had the 1st to 2nd crunch with my MB6, and the new clutch totally solved it. But had the same fault (although more severe, with 1st to 2nd, then 3rd back into 2nd) on my FN2, and that turned out to be 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th synchros totally gone. Did the linkages look ok when you were under there?

The centre caps for these wheels are still available from Speedline believe it or not! Or at least they were last year. The good thing is the centre caps from most of the alloys available (oem) for our civics fits mate, so you should be able to pick up a set on ebay too. What diameter are they again? The only wheels we have probs getting centre caps for are the standard 5 spoke alloys on the MB6/MC2 vti. These are also made by speedline, but the centre caps are huge! Can't wait to see these on your car!

Got the hoodies yesterday mate (the posty tried to deliver them when I was at college, so not been able to pick them up all week! ) Both fit perfect and look sweet as! Big thanks for getting these done mate, mucho appreciated!

Nice manifold mate, should look good and give some gains in performance too. Keep baggering your mate so you can get it quicker! lol

Liking your plans for this mate, the subtle look is always a winner on these civics. Underneath looks in good shape too! Have noticed that compared to most other civics, these tend to last well on the floor/underneath side of things. Getting fresh underseal on her will make sure she's in good shape for years to come. Pay a lot of attention to the rear arches and also the trailing edge of the arch onto the rear quarter panel, and get it cleaned out and undersealed there too bud. This is a common rot-spot on them
