  1. ABS light on, how to read fault codes. http://civic5.com/forum/topic/10324-abs-fault-codes-and-how-to-get-them/#entry273169
  2. On most the Honda civics to get abs codes you basically have to bridge the 2 pin connector. But with the civic 5 doors 96-00 you need to bridge 2 pins in the 5 pin data link connector to get abs trouble codes. The following picture shows which 2 pins need to be bridged to get the abs light blinking. The red marker is supplying 12v so don’t bridge the wrong pins otherwise you might fry something. You can then look up which code it is.
  3. @Krzys Done mate! Big congrats Gib, stunning deck bud!
  4. I think you can get smaller detail pads mate, that work with the compounds you have. Try machine mart or similar, they're kinda pyramid shaped so should get into the manifold no probs
  5. Lol, I'm skint mate and no annual leave left Would've loved to have got down to jf2 again and see you all. Will make a point of getting down next year, get some miles on the deck!
  6. It's a bugger that you had to change all those parts to get to the root of the problem mate, but that's usually how it is with older cars. Did you get a brand new tank or 2nd hand? I was gonna suggest fuel pump! Lol The good thing is, you've replaced most of the things a minor service would involve, and also the things a major service would entail. So you won't have any worries for a long time now. Bet she's driving like brand new!
  7. Nice bit of kit Jake! And the hose set looks amazing, need to get me finger out and get DD's all fitted! She's looking sweet mate!
  8. Lol welcome back mate. I think the 38's should fit, though not too sure with the width being 7in. With the 4x100 stud pattern, there are plenty options for alloys though . I've got a set of 15's for sale just now in the classifieds section. Good to see your staying with the civic m though......there's just something about them that bring previous owners back to them.
  9. Great read Jerrick, and great result! I'm never done recommending MeisterR suspension to people I know are looking for a suspension upgrade, but are unsure what to go for. Having had a set on my MB6, then another set for the aerodeck, I simply can't fault them. At the last Civic5 meet (St Marys loch, Scotland) I found due to the road we drove on during the run being a single track, really uneven one, the car was grounding a fair bit. First stop for photoshoot, and I adjusted the stiffness (2 min job) to a stiffer setting all round, and this cured the bottoming out. Enjoyed the rest of the run immensly! So great design being able to adjust things even when you're out and about, and most comfortable ride I've had in a car fitted with coilovers. As Tina turner once said....."simply the best!"
  10. lol doubt they'll let me stick my go-pro to it, but will find a way of getting a video if I get a test drive! Who knows, I might even like the car and get one! (would have to sell my house and my soul first though to afford it!)

    sprung a leak!

They do tend to get leaks in the top corners of the windscreen as they get older. I found that it depends on where you park! Park on a perfectly level bit of ground, its fine.................any kind of uneven ground and they leak! Seems to be that the bond round the screen deterioates, and can create a gap for water to get in. The gap can be tiny, and with my MA8 1.4 civic, I found that the cars shell actually flexes a tiny bit when parked on uneven ground, just enough to make the gap big enough to let water in. It's hard to tell, but one thing I noticed that was the sound when closing the passenger door (depending on the ground it was parked on) changed, sounded like the door hinge had dropped slightly. Parked on flat ground, everything was fine! If it is that there's two cures...... Permenant cure is to get a new windscreen fitted. Second cure is to remove all the plastic trim around it and try and re-seal it with silicon or something similar.
  12. Not seen one in the metal yet, but was disappointed Honda made all the fuss over it using pictures of the concept, which in my eyes looks naff all like the final production model. The new R might grow on me, but at the moment I prefer the looks of my FN2 TypeR to the new one. But then thats because I've never liked the 9th gen civics, think they dulled the look too much on them. Its getting good reviews in most of the car mags though, so always a good thing for Honda. Waiting for it to arrive in our local showroom (this month apparently) so will have a look and maybe book a test drive. I imagine though that there will be a "deposit" that needs to be paid before any test drives?

    Covers

I did get covers made for both Ruby and DD (DAVEMB2 now has Ruby's cover) but they cost around £240 each if I remember rightly. Mega expensive, but they fitted them like a glove as both were tailor made to fit both cars. They're double lined, so cloth on the outside and fleece on the inside. Mine aren't waterproof though (as the cars were going to be in the garage anyways) but they did do waterproof ones aswell.
  14. Looks so much better on the chronos mate. And they look so damn sweet in white.....................but then I'm biased lol as I got mine done in white when I had Ruby. Pain to keep clean but well worth it for the look. Very sweet mb6 mate!

    Beware

Just noticed! The PIC of the interior isn't even that car! No tinted rear windows, and that's a pic of a 5 door hatch interior! Just look at the C pillar! What a chancer!

    Beware

Damn, looks good as well. Looking at the reg, that's an ex civkc5 car, can't remember who owned it though. Wouldn't mind saving it tbh, although engine deffo gonna need a lot of work. Thanks for the heads up mate
  17. Thats some pipework right there! Constantly evolving this deck, which is why I love it so much! Great work as always Alex mate!
