Hello guys! Been a while since I last posted on here and my car park has changed... but not really! My MB2 is sadly not with us anymore, I was involved in an accident last year around march and sadly sustained chassis damage. They had just redone the asphalt on a road I used to enjoy driving on at night, it suddenly switched from old harsh but grippy road to freshly new asphaltwith no signs. New humid roads = slippery like ice so I understeered into a cement block, saved it a bit but not enough so I hit the corner of the block with the back of my front right wheel arch, bending the roof rail and the firewall corner. I was fine but I didn't recover mentally for another 2 months at least, I was really attached to my car. Time came when I started looking for a new car, and in just 2 years the marked had imploded, I couldn't find anything I liked for a decent price. My dad then reminded me about Rovers! I started learning more about the history of this joint venture and really liked the R8 platform in particular (Honda Concerto, Rover 200 [Coupe, Hatchback, 3 doors and Cabrio] and 400 [Sedan and Tourer wagon!]. Many of you will know about it in detail already but for a quick debrief, the R8 platform had Honda D series engine options as well as rover K and T series options, front Rover Macpherson suspension for Rover T series engine size concerns ( Double wishbone domes are way too bulky for the T16 2 liter, especially turbo on the 220 Coupe ), Honda Civic EF derived rear suspension, mostly upmarket Rover designed interior with real wood trims and honda sourced switches + little details. With that in mind, I set out to scour the menacing dephts of facebook marketplace and found 2 candidates under 2k euros, a black prefacelift Rover Coupe with 280k KM and a British Racing Green facelift fascia Coupe with 317k KM. We went to check out the first one, lo and behold it ran on 3 cylinders at best, had a rust hole in the sill big enough for 2 fists and was resprayed black from Nightfire Red, which is a gorgeous color and a sin to respray. Only thing left to do was check out the other one! Turns out it was on its 5th owner, a farmer with an extremely thick regional accent I could barely understand, and apparently hoarder of cars (even had an MB6 once). The car had a lot of chipped spots on the doors and generally anything around wheels, like it was driven HARD on gravel. Despite that, it run well and had 0 rust! The interior was dirty, driver seat scratched but still solid once cleaned, and the extremely bolstered Rover seats were RIGID still. We ended up getting this one for 1200 euros! Even drove it home 400km on worn front bushings, still a pleasant ride nonetheless. Fast forward a year and it's still my daily, improved upon every month I owned it, from maintenance to sorting gremlins. I really love the D16A8 DOHC lump, it sounds heavenly with a filter and pulls quite high in the rpm! The gearbox has super short ratios, even more than the CRX equivalent (in fifth gear my tacho sits at 3800rpm at 100kmh...) Pardon my formatting skills, just tried to cramp as many photos as I could of the things I really like about the car! The frameless doors are definetely up there, but the T top roof with removable glass pieces is amazing! By now you would probably be asking yourself "Wait, why make a post about it NOW of all times, and why here?!" My dad recently got wind of a pretty sick and well preserved example of a CIvic MB1 1.6i SR VTEC in Orleans Blue Pearl near our city! The car has 52k KM on the odometer and has been garage kept its entire life, 1 owner, only used for big trips around europe apparently. The catch? it hasn't actually ran outside the garage in 22 years at most. We thoroughly checked it out and haggled it down to 2k euros. It is an almost fully optioned example, with the only options missing being the Honda head unit + CD changer and leather interior (Which I wouldnt have liked as much). It has 4 rotors and ABS, Sunroof, 15 inch alloy rims, spoiler and bumper lips, fog lights, all four electric windows, AC and alarm + keyfob! I don't have many great pics of the car as a whole, since the calipers are seized and basically every single wear item needs to be replaced because of the age, but I'll surely post one in the gallery in a week or 2! For now, I only have these messy photos under my dad's garage's neon lights, which alter colors way too much... Under the passenger seat, in the secret cubby I discovered the original folder with every single document about the car and even a Honda Gold Card! So there's that, I'll definetely update this thread whenever I feel like it, thanks for reading :D

Hi everyone, I am the owner of a Civic MB1, I need to correct the convergence (toe angle), but I can't identify which point needs to be worked on, I also looked at the exploded views on the HONDA website with the OEM codes but not I can't find anything that can help me. Can any mb1 owner help me? My tires are wearing out internally and I need to get the job done as soon as possible.. thanks in advance

I would like to replace the heater core (matrix) cause it is leaking coolant. For this I have to take out the heater unit behind the dash. I saw at the service manual that I have to take out the evaporator first. Does anyone know if I can take the heater core out without taking out completely the evaporator but only unscrew it and pick it up a little so as to free up the heater unit to come off? Thanks

hellooooo this is my white diamond <3 mb1 sr vtec of course (looove this models), d16y2, 1996, when i bought her, she was all stock, 209000 km, nothing to do, MOT passed successfuly, just the absober shock and tyres to do ! it's funny because my white was made on 27-03-1996 and my second mb1 on 27.03.1997 ^^ i was 18 years old when i get it, and didn't have my license driving, so my boyfriend drive it for one year, and i was a passager! too hard it's my fisrt car and i could'nt dream better ! a lot of work have been made on my car to keep her in good healty (her last owner was a real fan too so it took care of her ! i get it in very good conditions) this is some pics when i bought it^^ now she's got 238000 km, i drive her just on week end, cars meet or when i see friends. she 'got 140 hp with litle modofications engine : - air intake (us racing ) will change it for a AEM v2 - fuel pressor regulator - clutch and flywheel exedy - spark plug+ wire - oil 10w40 motul 300v -fuel filter oil drain every 7000-10000 km - no clim exhaust : -catback MONGOOSE (the best sound!!) coming soon exhaust manifold chassis: -D2 absorber shock (very good absorber!!) -front bar -brakes : - front and rear Brembo MAX disc - front : ebc green (will change too) -rear : ebc red body : -new headlight -rear light from phase 2 - front and rear bumper painted -lateral skurt painted in white - ans new spoiler from MG ZS coming very soon... - gearbox : final drive 4.9 and new 1-2 3-4 sync and new wheels and tyre 16" she is my soul, she is my heart...i can't imagine my life without her this is pics with her new spoiler ^^ hope you like and sorry for my english, i hope you understand what i write XD

Hi everyone! I want to change all rear lights (blinker,reverse,brake, fog) to LED bulbs and also do the jdm style lights. What LEDs would fit best? if you have any night pics with LEDs post here! And for jdm tail light conversion, i would have to get other fog light loom or i just need the bulb holder? Thank you! (sorry for my English )

Hello and merry christmas my fellow civic lovers! My name is Miltos and i would like to ask a few questions about my "new" '97 civic mb1 (D16Y3). My car atm has 185/60/14 tyres and i would like to fit some 15". 195/50/15 to be spesific. Any suggestions for wheels? Also, according to the manual the wheel offset is 5 - 5.5j. Is there gonna be any problem if i use 6.5j wheels? Thanks in advance for the answers!

hi everybody guess who bought another civic mb1 sr vtec...yeaaah it's me it was a very good deal, near my home... so i bought it 300€ (217£), she has 127 000 miles (197 000 km ) very good conditions,, and i bought her to english people !! unfortunatly i wasn't here to talk with them as you can imagine, at this price, the need some reparations so it's a mb1 sr vtec of course (rare in France, or so expansive), d16y2 as you know. she is grey, perfect for my collection of MB1 lol ^^ good points : - her mileage ! -4 electric windows work good - clutch look ok - interior is very clean, exterior too ! - the engine looks good, sec - it's a SR ^^ bad points / or to do : - tyres ( i ' ve the old wheel of my white) - front and rear brake ( disk + pads) + brake caliper - exhaust, and o2 sensor (check engine) - all drains and filter (air, oil, fuel....) - spark... there is a little rust but it's ok all she needs to drive ^^ we will do everything 'cause we don't have invoices of the last owner! at the moment she doesn't able to drive ( one rear brake caliper is bloqued or broke ) but we will make all of this with love, like my other MB so now, i've got 3 mb1 somes pictures mae

we did this once before here, as part of the MG ZS group buy of heated front screens. there is one last ever (I know I said the last time would be the last), and this really will be the last time as its not worth my time and hassle and I gain nothing from this...the last ever heated screen group buy the screens WILL come with a top tint, and are dual circuit heated. They are 25£ more than the last batch 5 years ago (inflation!) at £225+vat. its a real last minute thing coz I kinda forgot about you guys, but I have to place an order Monday 8th Feb and as before £100 deposit is required, non refundable as I would be stuck with the screen and I would still have to pay the balance, but if for any reason... find someone else to buy it, whatever, we just need to fulfil the order. Its done through Ricky Evans motorsport as before, they supply cars in the BTCC. They will not stock these screens, if they would I wouldn't have to go to all this hassle for nothing, so this really is the only way to get one, there will be none left over, what I order I have to pay for and you guys pay the same cost per screen as I do, we had to pay the tooling on the first batch, believe me, its no cheap process.
