Retro cool!!! Welcome back mate, good to see you back in a Honda! Thats a mega sweet find, looks all original too! Looking forward to see where you go with this, bags of potential there! 8-)

Yeah, I'd say these are the ultimate set up for the M's! A lot of thought has gone into the design of them, and it's so good to drive I've actually used her to go to work the last two days on the trot! lol Gave Lexy a break! A few more pics of how she looks now

Ok, all fitted, and tested! Honestly wasn't sure how she would be with the coilovers on. Expected them to be maybe too stiff and uncomfortable............................but wholly crap!!! They have 32 settings for ride (1 to 32, 32 being the stiffest) and we have so far set the fronts on 20 and the rears on 18. The ride is totally unexpected!!! Comfy as hell, even on bumpy roads! I'd even go as far to say they are possibly the same comfort (or possibly more) than the stock mb6 suspension! But handling??? I'm absolutely amazed, could swear she is on rails! And not really played much with the set up yet, but she is so planted in corners she had me and Rob giggling like a couple of school kids on the test drive! Just sooooo much fun to drive! Gone is the understeer, and at worst all you get if you really try and push it is slight oversteer! It really is fun to drive now, and wish I'd gone for them earlier! We've droped her around an inch on the front, not quite as much at the rear, but she may well be going a wee bit lower yet. Can't recomend Meister R enough, amazing bit of kit, and top quality too! Got a wee pic, but will post more when I got time

Hi mate.Going by this thread >>> Rear speakers I quoted the size at 13cm (and stated "if i remembered correctly") which equates to 5in approx. The post quoting them as 4in was posted after me, and I wasn't aware it was there, so apologies for the misleading info bud. I'll remove that post from the thread right now so it keeps the info up to date and accurate in the forum

lol nope indeed not! Another update on Ruby, this time a biggy!!!! Been working on her latest mod, the suspension! Wee teaser pic to keep you all interested!! She'll be wearing her new suspension for the meet, so will be sporting a new look to how she normally looks! All the other components in the pic will be getting blasted then powdercoated/anodized/painted once my garage is built! Massive thanks to Rob (Kyekye09) for his hard work in getting this kit fitted, couldn't have done it without him! And thanks to his mrs Louise for the constant supply of coffee!! Was totally p*ssing down with rain during the fitting of the new stuff, so the coffee kept us going. Our breeks were soaked through!!! lmao Doing the rear suspension today!

Mate just ignore them! Unless it's "pure jdm bud" or part of the stance brigade, and has the following letters in it ( eg, ef, ek, ej, em, ep, fn) they aint interested. TBH, not all are like that on there, there are some decent members. Just you always seem to get a wee clique that jump on the y0 bandwagon! They is haters, and they aint all that! They don't know individuality, only sheep. They follow a trend, rather than be the creator of a trend.

Excellent choice of wheel mate, the M's really suit them! Thats looking nice n low!

And she failed Not! She flew through her MOT! My faith is restored! Ruby is 99% back to her former glory woop woop! Only thing they noticed was the emissions were a bit higher this time around, so not sure whats causing that. Maybe the lamba sensor? EGR valve? Still within the limits a but a significant difference compared to last year. Still, I is a happy bunny!!! Also got a couple of new toys today, one for meets and the other is an upgrade for Dawns deck!

That's a tidy wee usb mate! I went and bought one for Ruby the other day, only bought it because it was metallic red. It's quite small compared to most, but nowhere near that small! I want one!!

Really like this MB3, looks really sweet mate. Some very nice mods you've done to it, and mega clean too!

lol tell me about it mate! All I can say is this...If anyone is thinking about selling their M, make sure you deffinately want to sell, 110%. And if it's a car you really care about, then be very wary who you sell it to! It's a mistake I'll never be making again! You on about the Pioneer Dave? I've only just started to find my way around it, but can say this...............the sound quality is superb! So many different ways to adjust the sound/frequency on it, it's easy to get it sounding nice. I'm only running standard speakers, and the sound is bang on! The DAB works nicely too, as does the USB. And the display is well cool, infinate colour combinations! Not sure which standard unit you mean for comparison mate? Ruby had the oem Pioneer tape/radio in her when I bought her, and she's since had JVC, Pioneer CD/mp3 (still got this one in the shed!), Alpine (loved that one, but the tosser who bought her removed it) and finally this new Pioneer! If you can get it for that price, go for it mate! Cost me a lot more than that!! I'm thinking about getting the same unit for Dawns Deck

Yeah, they don't feel as quick, but think it's down to the way the vtec works on them. It's really smooth power delivery, which is nice, but you tend not to notice just how bloody fast you're actually going! lol FD2 I would looooooove! stunning looking car!

Dave replied to knight's topic in Honda Civic MA/MB/MC
Red Bull gives you wings!!!! They look immense mate, first time I've seen them on an M. Very different, and very cool! Just scrolled back a page and saw your new rear lights too! The whole car looks spot on mate, and that claybar session has made her a top all round mb6! Just went to the top of my favourite MB's list!! Loving it bud!- 3,767 replies

I love gadgets!!! One of my weaknesses! lol This one still has a cd player in it, but that wont be used very much now. Just went and bought a memory stick for her too, and it's metallic red! so matches Ruby perfectly! All in the details! Yeah mate, I got him totally wrong the day I sold her to him. Total dipstick when it comes to car "modding" , everything either cheap or a botch. But yeah, I'll deffo have her back to her old self soon. Almost there now!! And got the MeisterR's to go one tooo mmmmmmmmmmmmm. Ruby gonna be mighty sexy!

thanks for the offer mate, but it was the later style VTiS one that was in her when I sold her. That's the one he threw in the bin. Still a bloody good gear knob! I took the alloy VTiS one out before I sold her, thank feck! So, been out there cooking in the heat, putting her all back together again. Managed to finally get the new radio wiring loom all fitted, so her wiring is all as it should be now. I'd just done a temp fix before to make it safe. What else? Oh yeah, the DAB ariel is fitted, and all cabling nicely routed and hidden, so she now has full DAB head unit. Lovely! Here's a couple of pics of her back to her former glory, dash all fixed! All pucka, and the alloy VTiS gearknob in place of the "ripwank" one! And a close up of the new bit all fitted, and the switches now sitting in there without falling through! The two middle ones are mega rare, and will give a clue to future plans for Ruby! As you'll probably see in the photos, the interior is boggin'! There is loads of crap on the floor, and tones of plastic filings where he wrecked the old heater control panel. So, spent around an hour hoovering her out, and cleaning her inside. Now she looks mint!! Also did Dawns deck too, so she looks amazing inside now, especially since I fitted Dawns brand new mats too. Just the glass to clean on Ruby and that's the interior done.......or so I thought! How much damage can one guy do to a car in such a short time?? A lot it would seem. When I was in the back hoovering it, noticed that the leather on both front seat backrests. It looks like he must have had the kids in the back, and they've been sitting kicking the shit out of the back of the front seats, which has burst the covering! Fecking raging!! I think I might be able to repair it in situe, just hope I done have to remove the leather from the seat to do it, as that's a mare of a job. Can't believe this! She's been used and a bused, and the backs been used as a effing playground!......The restoration continues

Exactly, got all the vtec I need with Ruby! But for anyone thinking about the TypeR, if you don't mind a really stiff suspension set up, go for it! The sound from it , even standard, is wicked!!!!
-
Too right mate. One hella big smile on my face each time i gave it beans! The sales guys pretty good, just lets me boot the crap out of it so i get a true impression of what its like. He just sits there laughing! lol

So been busy today. Time to get the damage the twat did to the dashboard sorted out. For those who don't know, he hacked the centre console that houses the air con button/recirculation buttons to bits to fit (i use the word "fit" loosely) a vw cupholder. Very poor mod, and badly fitted. Looked awful. So, repairing this meant renewing the whole heater control housing. Removed the armrest and centre console, and during this found another botch up! When I bought her back, he told me he'd "fitted" *see, there's that word again!) a new gearknob. This was because he thought the oem VTiS one was "chavy looking"! So he threw it in the bin. He then bought a Ripspeed one to replace it! So removed it to get the console off and found this........ the knobs new knob obviously didn't fit, so he did that to the gearstick! cotton wool rapped in his favourite bodge tool, black sticky tape! I kid you not, he must have used a whole role of it!! Fecking retard! So, with that removed, I got the console out The on to remove the heater control panel. This proved to be a right pain in the arse! Trying to remove the switches from the panle so that the panel itself can be removed is really difficult, as there isnt much room to remove the torx screws that hold each switch in place Once removed, the old and new panels together. Here you can see the bits that have been cut away, then the rest of it filed back. What a waste! I've also got a new DAB ariel to fit, which is a film one that goes on the front screen. Got it fitted, and most of the wiring routed. Thought I might aswell do it while everything is in bits. I've since got the new heater controls panel fitted, and the controls re-fitted to it. I'll get more pics tomorrow, as she's still lying there in bits! Got too dark, and i got fed up! lol So far, to fix this bit of damage (and fit the dab) has taken me 2 and a half hours! Fecking fiddly job indeed. Be glad when she's back together! lol. Will update this tomorrow.

lol that man he speaks the truth! Been thinking about it, and yeah, you're right! Vtec is indeed addictive, so would end up vtecing it all the time. Which would have the knock on effect of zero fuel consumption and a possible driving ban!! Was fecking awsome though, the way it delivered the power was really smooth, but totally rapid! Downsides: Clutch was like pushing against a wall! And it was either on or off, so in traffic it was a bit of a paint and jerky. Apparently, most are like that. The ride. The ride tbh is just too bloody stiff, about the only thing I would agree with Mr Clarkson about. I thought Lexy was too stiff, but this, bloody hell, it would be unbearable on a daily basis with the roads I have to go on. And even though it was stiffer than lexy, it didnt handle any better than her. I've kinda been up against one with Lexy, and cornering wise Lexy was there all the way. Obviously up the straights, it's offsky! But Lexy, although stiff, is comfy enough even on the bumpiest of roads. The other downside of the TypeR being so stiff, is that every panel seems to have loosened off with it! Meaning tons of rattles and squeaks! The dash. Although almost the same as Lexy, it's all in red. It isn't anywhere near as clear and easy to read as Lexy's whose are in oel white/blue. And there has been issues with the red instrument dash packing in. Fuel economy for what would be my daily runner. TypeR at most on a motorway run 32mpg. About town (and this was indicated on the info dial during test drive) 20mpg! Lexy around town: 40mpg. On a motorway run......around 50mpg! Road tax is also cheap for Lexy, TypeR is like mega expensive. Price! Trading Lexy in for it works out like this...... Miles on lexy :19.000 TypeR: 37.000 Lexy year of man: late 2011. TypeR late 2009 Lexy cost me: £11.800 + £300 for boot spoiler TypeR cost :£11.999 Trade in for me....... £9.500 - £10.000. Meaning it'll cost me 3 grand to go for an older model with a lot more miles than mine And means i've lost aorund 3 grand on Lexy in roughly 4 months????? WTF???? So thought about it and thought............................................ta feck wi that!!! lol On driving Lexy home, found it so much nicer to be in than that one. Oh, and I found out a while ago I can easily loose my licence with Lexy too............at the "track" had her up at 129mph so far!! And got there relatively quickly too. So guess I'll hang on to her for now. She's got the TypeR looks already, just not the power. TypeR alloys or Volk TE alloys for her next me thinks.

In at honda just now getting lexys air con sorted, and got speaking to neal in service and steve who sold me the typeS. Managed to bag a test drive in one of their typeR fn2s! Wanted to see the diff between mine and that. Wholly fook! What a bit of kit! Gave it beans on the motorway, and also on the twisty stuff, and the power is awsome! Handling wise, id say the same as my TypeS, although mine is a bit better over rough roads. Now i have a dilema! Do i go for one or not! Lol Prob not, as it would be the daily runner, but nice to finally get to drive one. Big thanks to the guys at western honda for letting me drive it!

haha! yeah, I'm gonna put them into a body shop to be done mate! Need to get her front/rear lip done too, along with Dawns front lip. Bloody stone chips!
