  1. Well, had Ruby out yesterday to give her a run. I went down to see Dawn, as it was our wedding anniversary yesterday (17 years married) so was an emotional day all round. Went and got her fueled up, and thought I'd check the tyre pressures seeing as she'd been standing a while. First time I'd checked them since buying her back, and got a bit of a shock to say the least!. As mentioned earlier, she'd been a bit starange to drive on the way home from her other owner. The steering was dodgy etc (see previous posts) and to me she's felt a bit bouncy, harsh and unpredictable handling wise. Checked the tyre pressusres and here are the results! n/s/f : 26psi n/s/r : 38psi o/s/f : 37psi o/s/r : 29psi 38 psi??? wtf??? Seems he couldn't even do the basics right on the car, tyre pressures all to pot (and dangerous in my opinion). So have made the decission. I no longer trust what has (and that's a big question mark, as he lied about what had been done to her) and what hasn't been done to the car. Most of what I have seen to have deffo been done has been botched. As there's a meet coming up soon, and someone else will be driving her, I have booked her in to RJM Performance to get a full inspection of the car done. I want to know if anything is fitted wrong, if anything is loose/dangerous, and want everything put to how she should be. I'm effing annoyed as she was a perfect car before I sold her, and had never thought twice about jumping in her and driving 7 or 8 hours to a meet. Now I just don't trust her at all. I've ordered up two new Goodyears for the front, as she needs a new one for the pass side anyways, and the drivers side front is also well down on tread. Again, leads me to think she'd spent most of her time with him wheel spinning, as there isn't a lot of mileage on the tyres at all. She'll also be going on their new 4 wheel alignment computer, to make sure she's set up bang on tracking and alignment wise. Also getting her mot done too, as it's due at the end of August anyway. So for the meet, she should be in top form. Note to self: Don't ever ever ever sell her again!
  2. How did I miss this upgrade??? Mate that looks totally amazing!!! Wheels remind me a bit of Dawns, absolutely love this!!

    whoops

That's really strange! Not the first one we've seen though, as it seems quite common. I've just never had one go no matter how much power I've put through it on take off (touch wood!!!). You'd think the driveshafts would be made stronger eh!
  7. lol yeah, and the look on some of the faces of those big money cars owners when you blow them away is priceless! Wish I knew why spewgoots keeping trying to kill me! Bloody hate them too, fugly looking things! Them and renaults, truely hiddeous cars!
  8. How did I miss this project! Stunning little MA mate, and glad you decided to get her repaired after the crash. Really top work there! Some stunning mods you've done too, starting to see a lot more sweet pre-Facelift civic m's here now. Keep up the good work! PS: Lovin the number plate lol
  9. Well, thought yesterday it was time I got Ruby insured again so she can go out for a little spin now and then. my renewal before I sold her a few months back was £340 F/C, so was expecting the same again. Called the same company (Aviva) and got a quote........................£795!!! WTF! I said ye and did I mention its a 20 grand Rolls Royce I'm insuring pal, not a 2 grand tops civic! So even he though it was a bit nuts, but that was the best they could get it at...............or was it???? He said the reason was that I'd used my NCD on Lexy, so Insuring Ruby with none was like starting from scratch. But he had a plan! After much clicking of his keyboard later, he came up with this. Get Lexy insured with them, he'll do a multicar policy and see if it works out cheaper. I said that she was already insured with Honda, as Aviva gave me a higher quote for her at the time. But went and gave him all lexys details again to see what happened. He said after a bit more typing, "hmm, that's a bit better". He then hit me with £480 FC. I said but I'm only paying £325 for Lexy just now, so although you've dropped the price of Ruby, it's still too much for Lexy. I said is that £480 each? Nope, £480 all in for both!! Bloody result! He'd mirrored my NCD from Lexy, so both got the discount. Only difference is that with Ruby, I can't protect the NCD, whereas on Lexy it is protected. Not too fussed, as that to me seemed like a cracking deal! I was gonna call our traders, but wanted her insured like there and then so went ahead with it. The only prob was I'd have a cancelation fee from Honda Happiness. Turns out it was only £30, and I'm getting £196 back from them for unused insurance! So almost £200 coming back! Means Ruby has cost......£280 in theory! lol I'm a happy bunny! Took her out for a spin, and just got onto the outside lane of the dual carrigeway...............and almost got annihilated by some stupid young girl in a Peugot 206!! I'm doing 70mph, she's doig around 50mph and cut right across in front of me, missing the front passenger wing by around 3cm's! I braked hard, swerved towards the barrier to avoid her. Thought fuck I've only just insured her and now shes gonna die in the barrier!! Needless to say, that bitch got the main beam, the horn on full blast and a mouthfull of profanity from me. She was totally oblivious to everything! Felt like taking the bitch out! (and I don't mean to dinner!) Funny thing is, last time Ruby got hit (hit and run driver at the traffic lights) it was a girl in a peugot 206!! Reminded me how good the brakes are on the MB6's. So, can now get busy getting her match fit! And well impressed with Aviva!
  10. There was an LPG hatch in here a long time ago, but never seen a deck done! Should be interesting! Glad to see you staying with the M's mate
  11. Cheers bud, yeah she's coming together nicely. Got her insured for the year yesterday (got a bloody awesome deal from Aviva, see my thread in the general section!) so that's her back on the road. Need to replace the 2 front tyres, and trace a few rattles inside. Strip out centre console, replace the white plastic heater surround/mounting plate, and think she's about done! Garage (fingers crossed could hopefully be up in the next few weeks! Result! ) built it will be time for the suspension change to MeisterR's. Oh, and need her white stilletos back for the meet! Felt good driving here again!!
  12. That looks awesome mate! I've been thinking about one of them for a while now, always thought there had to be a bit modding to get the horn etc to work? Might go on the hunt for one now for Ruby! Sweet mod mate!
  13. Time again folks, put forward the Civic M's you think are worthy to win this months car of the month competition! Found a Civic MB hatch in the forum that you think looks amazing? Maybe there's a Civic Aerodeck that you think rocks? Put them up for the cotm! UPDATE: Competition is a dead heat! So voting is re-opened! Please vote for either Dexter or Ollie91 ! This post has been promoted to an article
  14. Nice one mate, good to see the clubs current MA's, MB's and MC's staying in the club once sold. I'd say that was a good buy at that price!

  16. LOL Deffo not resprayed mate. Only paint she's had were the rear arches. Really is unbelievably clean, feel really lucky to have her!
  17. x2 And congrats on passing mate!
  18. Photos in here mate. Unfortunately, she was all dirty by the time we arrived at the mini-mini-tiny-meet! lol http://civic5.com/forum/index.php?/topic/6725-kielder-forset-meet-monday-bank-holiday-27513/
  19. Yeah, and don't you just hate the little comment that usually follows when an mb6 is broken for its engine........Putting the b18 in a "real civic! " Retards! If it was a real civic, it would have had a b18 in it from the start! lol Is sad to see the mint ones being scrapped though.
  20. lol, tell me about it. A lot of really mint M's getting broken on ebay nowadays. Lucky for us we have our own breaker in the forum (1000rpm), so it's not all bad. At least we get all the parts we need at a decent price. But yeah, I'm the same, could spend all day rumaging around a breakers!! Some of the smashed cars you see make you think how the hell did anyone get out of them! Oh meant to add, anyone looking for any M bits near edinburgh, Sports car breakers at newbridge have a deck in, and two or three 5 doors. No engines in any of them, mainly body parts/interior parts left, plus suspension/brakes etc.
  21. Another wee update! Been to the breakers today, as I needed to get the centre console for ruby due to the damage caused on her own one. Forgot how much of a pain these are to get out, the two screws at the handbrake being a huge pain in the ass! 4 Civics later and I finally got one out! Then it turns out it's not the console I need, it's the heater surround! So had to take it out, then use an torque bit to remove the controls so I could get it out of the car!! Huge pain! Now i have that to look forward to all over again when i remove Rubys fecked bit! lol Also picked up the rear arch rubber protector strips. A lot of people don't like these, but I think that if our civics didnt have them from new, there would hardly be any MB's left on the road as the rears would be rotten! They stop the paint on the arch lips from getting stone chipped, which rusts quickly. When Ruby came back, her arch trims were gone, so got good set today. As long as you keep them clean, and take them off every few months to clean out, the arches last a lot longer. Also picked up some other parts for one of our members across in France (Mae) so will get them posted off asap too. So all in all, a productive little day!
