Bit of a guess but I've heard of them causing similar problems due to engine movement.

As I said they are definitely a worthwhile upgrade, especially if you'd rather be spending your money elsewhere.

Mg zs shocks are a great low cost upgrade and will only lower the car by about 15mm, so ideal if you want to load it up with gear but still improve the handling. I wouldn't bother with lowering springs as afaik you can only get -40mm ones so will probably be too low I think when laden and only a slight improvement in handling. The meisters are obviously the best upgrade and you don't have to go too low if you don't want and still retain a good ride comfort, mine is lower than it was on mgzs and -40 eibachs and still much more comfortable.

Toyosports system on ebay is cheap but it's loud and quite thin steel. If you were looking at spending on the mongoose system, then go for a custom one from longlife or powerflow. Similar price and tailored to your exact requirements.

Very true, probably no more power to be found by upping the limit to be honest and you could end up spending a lot of money for little gain. Better looking at whether there is a different gearbox with lower ratios which would help it rev faster and accelerate faster.
