    That's a good price for all that work, she'll be running like a dream. As I said before, the water pump is a non-service item, so it only needs changing if it's broken/leaking.

    Yes, it's just a case of swapping the locating clips for the seat backs.

    DC2 b pipe sounds like a good idea, that carbon can tailpipe. Yeah, loads of potential in them. Especially in a mk1.

    I looked at the mk4 when I was looking for the vti-s, I was looking at the turbo one though, the non turbo is just shameful.

    Possibly, it is a good reliable car, I had an 8v in Indian red which I bought because I was convinced I needed something newer than the succession of mk2s I'd had. It had 165k on it when I bought it and never gave me an ounce of trouble but it was just boring and not quick enough to be a gti. The vr6 is the only mk3 really worth having imo.

    I'd have had to find it and deal with the seller to, whereas my mate who imported it had the contacts and speaks fluent German. It was a case of he was out there and found one did anybody know anyone who wants one and I stuck my hand up.

    Wow that's gone up a bit, it cost me about £800 when I did it in '98. Was only from Germany but still.
