Ruby VTi winter proofed with wax and graft
burbleboy replied to JayTripleR's topic in Honda Civic MA/MB/MC
Crikey, mine hasn't been polished in a few months Been using good wash/wax shampoo to tide me by but needs to get proper polished when better weather. My neighbour down the street has all the proper clay bar/polishing machines etc and he is really good at it. He was meant to detail mine last year but we never had the time. I will get him to clay bar and machine polish my car in the next few months -

Appreciate the comments mate. Glad you bought one Yeah mate, we are getting it in waves at the moment but it doesn't stay for long. I stay in West Lothian (south of Edinburgh) so that surprises me that you have none! -

They do mate I bought mgzs springs and shocks but I had mega hassle with ride height and front end understeer due to front being too high. Ended up buying Eibach Pro springs and mated them to the mgzs shocks. Great setup IMO. Then decided that I was to turn mine into a track car so bought Meister R's. Will put the Eibach setup back on car when it's time to sell up.

Proper induction kits are mega £££. But worth it as they have been designed for the car I suppose. Why not buy a cheap universal cone jobby and make it fit for temporary satisfaction?

I had a leak from the air vent on the nearside of the boot well. Random but rear bumper off and silicone it back in. That also may be the problem mate.

This is a high miler and asking £1500 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1999-HONDA-CIVIC-VTI-S-BLACK-/301476286037?#ht_1099wt_1190

Nice care mate. I've paid £2300 one year before! (rover 1.4 16v twin cam = 6 points and crash) but i had modified the tits out of it so paid up. You just have to pay what you have to pay these days. Will be cheaper in a few years. Enjoy driving, it's only money at the end of the day, better to spend money on things you can show for it.

We had a conversation on this forum a while ago regarding modifications and car prices. I agreed that you can't expect someone to pay lots more because you have coilovers, exhaust, remap etc, BUT a car with expensive mods should be not be sold for just the 'car price' IMO. I know it's not what Ralston was asking, but come time to sell mine...I shall price according to what I think it's worth and someone out there may or may not agree. Someone may really want a VTi-S and pay what the asking price is....I knew that I had really wanted one and was prepared to pay to get it. I was lucky that it was sold on ebay in January and no one had money then. I was first bid and won! Fortunate, but was willing to pay more. Advertise the car to what YOU think its worth after getting a rough guide from others. If really good condition, then you decide.

I would say around £1600/1700. Low mileage and standard is good IMO. I recon I will be selling mine this time next year...but selling most parts off it to get some of my money back

Couldn't agree more ^^^^^^^ The modern simulators help drivers cope with the modern F1 car....old Skool drivers would struggle to cope with all the adjustments they would have to do in-race. Personally, I think they should bring back manual shift and less tech.....but on the other hand....the tech stuff is being developed for modern road cars and the future. Ditch the tyre stuff and let them battle it out with DRS and skill. Bernie...if your reading this....DO IT!
