  1. Hi Everyone i am posting here as i assume most folks look here the most and want to inform everyone of the dangers of these LCA'S i bought some of the Purple SKunk2 Style LCA's about a year back now for my MB6 VTIS when i purchase my meister Rs, they were actually sold at the time as genuine skunk 2 ones until i complained, the sellers are from ebay so it was my own silly decision to keep them and not send them back and against the advice of Scott at H-Tune i thought merrrrrr how back can they be. went under my car today and mind my civic has been off the road aabout a year straight after i fitted them my engine went pop, the cars been covered over and the bushes greased heavily. the bushes are about f**kced already my car now sounds like a shopping trolly going down the road so in a word WASTED MY MONEY! these a substandard units and are dangerous sh1t these are the ones i bought: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Skunk2-style-RED-LCA-Lower-control-arm-HONDA-CIVIC-EG-CRX-DC2-INTEGRA-MB6-/222152112827?hash=item33b94c3abb:g:j1EAAOSw1vlUtyxI sellers Honda_Power89 anything that says something "style" stay the hell away from as its now inconvenieced me massively....................buy genuine from H-tune its expensive but good. these have only covered around 3-4k on my car since fitting and already the bushes are knackered OEM time for me!
  2. Just got to sort interior out now as I'm not happy with the sagging head lining and seats I WANT LEATHER ONES NOWWWWWWW! and my parcel shelfs decided to go all floppy Sad face!
  3. Sound nice like my Mongoose 2.5" well worth the effort makes them really stand out, nice hearing the crossover on A roads aswell Bwaaahhhhhh! Nice work
  4. Cheers got there eventually now to sell the VAG! been up for sale on Gumtree, Ebay, Preloved, Briskoda.net FB its not shifting nothing wrong with it just doesn't have hardly any appeal it seems.
  5. and then MOT day came was confident of a pass.......... And it passed with flying colours not one advisory so all my hard work paid off and its still running sweet today had no issues what so ever I have had my laptop hooked up to freelog with the hulog and all is working perfectly on the map I'm using so I'm happy once again the car now
  6. Once engine was all sorted and back in which took about 3 days I stripped all the brakes down and freshened them up took all the rust off and cleaned the calipers up and soaked them all in pen oil so the could start working properly for the MOT you get the jist I sorted the brakes not mega exciting but you can see how bad the were after a year or so...... anyway one thing was holding me back from the MOT a knackered IAT that was throwing codes so I had to wait a week or so to buy one from HTUNE as they were on back order then it came fitted it and booked the MOT with baited breath hoping it would pass first time.........
  7. So I got the dolly board on the Jack and started to position it back in the bay after removing the gearbox and shafts it was fun NOT! Then was time to fit the gearbox back onto the block again with one pair of hands it took me ages and was a long process and extremely frustrating....... with the Shafts back in place gearbox in and together and that pain in the ar5e rear mount bolted I started to get the fresh MTF in the box, while I was retightening the gearbox bung on the side of it I sheered the casing and split it first and only error I made so I had to cold weld the f3cker back in place and make sure it didn't leak honestly I was mortified..... Engine when all was done ready for the MOT
  8. Then it was time to refit and get the sucker running again which I can assure you was a b1tch on my own but I had a wheel barrow on hand and a cracking missus who helped me get it out my shed........ this was end of April time and things were going ahead nicely the car had been sat engine less for about 6 months so all brakes were seized solid. looked a mess right?
  9. So after I got all back together I sprayed my VHT red Rocker cover and was super buzzing to get the car running again after over a year, but I was short on money and needed the Vtec solenoid gaskets and a few other niggley bits like rad switch and oil pressure sender so it sat for a few weeks while I saved up some pennies which bummed me out a bit TBF around early april oh yeah fitted flywheel and new clutch as well genuine honda kit of course.
  10. Then came time to fit the sump, oil pump and crank seal and get the fresh head bolted on things started to come together around March time. Obviously I skipped a bit actually was so busy cracking on desperate to get my Honda back I didn't photo building the head back up fitting the Cams and belts back on just powered on I could hear the VTEC sound in my dreams BWAAAAAAHHHHH after a year owning an Octavia VRS I was getting mad withdrawals......
  11. so last time I posted I think id just got the cylinder head back from port polish and decoke and skim I had B18c6 Valves cut in and dual vavle springs installed paid sod all for them so thought may as well proved very worth the effort. Shortly after around January/Feb time I started strpping and rebuilding the block replaced piston rings and deglazed the cylinders and decoked the pistons themselves, replaced all seals and built it back up again with fresh gaskets: You get the idea of this stage I imagine freshened it all with some Silver VHT after steam cleaned the block all went well.......more to follow
  12. Its been a while since I came on here but thought its time seeing as my VTI-S is back in action, engine fully refurbished and running sweat as a nut pics from the rebuild will follow glad to see the forums still going strong.
  13. I have got my hands full but I'm not breaking another vtis they getting scarce and they are a well made car so wanna keep it, missus keeps bugging me to get a vw transporter to convert into a camper but I want to sort the civic first.
  14. Thanks guys I've been starting up my IT company still ongoing but gonna sort the civic to ease my mind. When the head went Andrew I was running standard ECU wasn't sure on the map I had so removed it, I'm in no mad rush to get it on the road as the Skoda is doing its job as a daily so I'll do it correctly this time round the Skoda 211 bhp and 330nm torque but as I said to krzys no induction noise just whistle bit boring really I miss my old red aerodeck so bad.........
  15. Thanks Krzys all over it hope nobody else gets there account deleted by this "software" ! must be like Tron or something, all about Rinzler that B*st*rd
