  1. accord h series are a good swap if youre not going for massive ammounts of power
  2. all depends on your tune, you could run it on stock injectors with a decent map it would run fine but you wont be getting as much potential power. With higher flow injectors you'd be able to chuck more fuel in there and tune for more power. Thats a very basic answer
  3. haha my windowsill was a matchbox scrapyard of scorched paint and melted plastic. i watched alot of the original mad max films as a kid
  4. Thank you mae! For some reason I thought it was cardboard under there. The wild 90's pattern made me ill
  5. that looks great. did you just peel off the fabric and paint them?
  6. Update: I'm home again finally, cars due MOT which i know will fail on a couple of minor issues. Just thought i'd post a pic of my shopping list and drop in and say hi, i've not forgotten about you lot.
  7. Back in U.K after 3 weeks at sea, change of plan, was supposed to be going back to that ship in a couple of weeks time but another engine on another ship has spun number 4 main bearing so needs to have the whole engine ripped out. So the phone goes on Saturday evening a day after getting home and about an hour after getting all my rear brakes stripped, ''Can you be ready to travel to Antwerp on monday" so spent Sunday rushing around getting s**t ready without the car. Ah well. Got a set of braided lines from Hel Had to order a new right side rear handbrake cable due to my impatience and a seized clevis pin. Stuck in ship mode and got the grinder out. Cleaned up and wound the calipers back in nicely, looks like these calipers are good to use, getting ready for paint, if i travel Tuesday and not monday i'll get a couple of coats of paint on before i go, if not they'll have to wait. Hopefully all the brake fluid doesn't drip out while i'm gone. i've got the old hoses clamped pretty good though, even used my crap pairs of molegrips so i can take my good ones on this job lol Thats it for another few weeks. Been reading lots of tuning e-books and guides at sea and it's just inspired me to go turbo for sure. Budget not as much of an issue with all this work in the pipeline.
  8. just waiting for the lacquer to dry now. Think it looks good leaving the grill part bare, didnt want the hassle of trying to rub down all the corners and edges for painting and then screw it up somehow lol
  9. Taking a few minutes to sort the grill out, mandatory mod for these cars. Going grey for the badge, black for the chrome, just in primer tonight, will black and laquer it later. Rather than paint the grill i'm just letting it soak in black trim restorer. Slapped it on heavy and letting it soak in. Should hold up for a while if it absorbs properly. Despite recently being diagnosed with arthritis i'm off to sea to rebuild 2 diesel generators on a ship for 5 weeks on saturday. Get a nice bit of cash to inject into the project and will keep me good while i wait at home starting my proper treatment, so this is it for now. My minds going back to turboing it now, just poor timing with my s**gged joints and not being able to work as much, but i'll get there eventually. Should make some good progress on this project for spring anyway.
  10. you'll have to have a fiddle with the mechanism, check the cables adjusted properly etc. Its hard to come up with a fix without looking at it.
  11. The big red button is NOT the flush
  12. there's another chemical called H²o or something, you can get it from your local tap, helps break down carbon.
  13. Not a B series head but alot of the same science applies, some very good info here.
  14. True that the INLET ports need turbulence and polishing would reduce this, however the exhaust ports are fair game, polishing exhaust ports helps the exhaust gas flow more freely and helps get it out and away from the engine.
  15. yeah i hear ya, thinking of blacking out the entire car eventually, and blacks a bit more stealth
  16. haha i know you could fit my work boots and skate trainers in there, and im a size 11!
  17. but what about the wheels?! may as well f**k the car thread off and just do one on my workshop :D
  18. plenty of information out there on the web with these heads. It'd be a good idea to upgrade the bolts while you're in there, ARP sell a set. Who knows how many hours/stretch the old ones have. A set of new stems seals should help your oil consumption, i'd go with genuine honda for these. You could port and polish it, porting can be a bit tricky if you don't know what you're doing but it wont hurt to polish the exhaust ports and combustion chamber, smooth out casting marks and stuff. Having any machine work done? you could upgrade to oversize valves and new seats installed. Also skimming a touch off will up your compression a touch giving you more power, but bear in mind it may have been skimmed before and there's only so much you can take off. Then there's camshafts, could go for a more aggressive cam profile from a type r or aftermarket, there's tonnes of cam profiles to chose from. Then you'd need to fit stronger valve springs to be able to rev higher and get the most out of it. All depends on your ££
  19. haha everyone loves the garage! Couple of years my dad will have paid off his house and will begin work on his ultimate workshop, and if he can't get the planning permission for the size he wants he's going to sell his new house and find somewhere where he can!
  20. fitted wheels today, was going to hold off until i did the brakes and suspension but nahhhhh sorry for the crap pics but the neighbours were watching and i didn't want them to think i thought my car looks good sat that high Brakes next, can feel a slight clicking through the pedal i couldn't feel through the old tyres.
