Comparing M's: My other pal drove both Ruby and my civic that day as John (ruby owner) said for him to compare them. The drive: Ruby was first. We had to keep telling him to drop a gear and rev it past 7000rpm! He loved it as it was first time driving vtec! It handled the bumps well and really is a great car to drive. Mine was next, he could not believe they were the same car on the same suspension! He was advised to avoid drain covers near the kerbs and watch for potholes! My car is built for my needs as track car and fun toy as well as a daily. He loved thrashing it and having the noise and rawness of it all with the low seats and go kart steering wheel. He giggled most of the journey and it brought out the inner child in him as he was holding revs at 6000rpm but not in Ruby! Verdict: He said that he could not drive mine as a daily but he could drive Ruby daily no problem. He now understands why i love driving my car on the camping roadtrips that we all have. Thanks bud! Well, That's her officially off the road till next year. Just completed the sorn thingy online so DD is tucked up in her bed for the winter. If I can get some decent heaters for the garage (currently got oil filled ones which are pants!) I'll carry out some more work/pampering on her through the winter, ready for showing in the spring.2 points

Did someone change my title from 8L to 1.8L? lolol 8L is the chassis designation, like MB6, EP3 etc1 point
-
That's one reason I left it alone on the MB6, I don't enjoy drone on a long run and my long runs are usually very long Been looking quite a bit at an 04 Cosmic Grey locally! Checks have come back good, just hope the V5 comes before it's gone!1 point

F*ck the low & slow scene sh*t. I'm not getting shinny deep dish rims now so back to the original plan, 3 spoke Advans Had the deck up on the ramps and couldn't find no damage from getting stuck. Just a couple marks on the fuel tank and on the front ARB. I still haven't raised it Oh! I got the mid spoiler back just now! I managed to talk the sprayer into getting my spoiler done by wednesday. The colour is spot-on!1 point

Looks incredible mate !! Civic5 freebies yeh ?!? You know you want to do pirates black car !1 point

More smoke, more poke is right haha That mk2 Golf runs clean most of the time but he built a 'smoke' button in to the dash. He basically built some simple electronic doo-daa-whatchamacallit that dumps more fuel in. When he comes across another car and needs to up the power a bit he just flicks the button, like a dirty diesel afterburner lol. I'm no fan of diesels, but this drives like a revvy petrol, although it vibrates like mad on solid mounts. 500bhp is mental for a little 1.8T. I'm guessing it was alot of work to get it there lol I've always wanted to have a go in a mk2 or mk3 Golf with a 1.8T in it. Decent suspension and a diff would make them a very capable little car.1 point

Difficult dicisions mate .. Not sure you'd want to hear my advise ! But your gunna get it anyway ! FUCK this "sensible" crap .. You need something, as Ali has said, that you enjoy and can connect with .. A petrol head, like all of us, require, no DEMAND these things .. Without them, we'll chop and change becuase we dont care about the car ! Just beacuse you have a performance based car, doesnt mean you have to spank all your money on it1 point

I thought that Adam, being with our paint being so soft !! Shame, i'd have liked to have seen it in the metal .. You did Hamza's Saab on CL didnt you ?? Did you wet sand that?1 point

A great comparison and demo of how differently the same suspension components can be set up to achieve tailored results! Plus I know yours has go faster goodies too Al, again, different characteristics in similar base cars, big difference!1 point
-
You make a good point Al, I do enjoy driving it, but fancy something a bit newer hence the idea of getting an EP3, the ideas I have for a deck I think would be better to have as a long term project when I have space to keep it somewhere. With the money invested (badly) in the Kia it makes sense to get something around the same value1 point

Sounds like a nice build happening here will be keeping eye on the build. Grill looks much better without the red. Would look good with a slatted one.1 point

Yeah, that looks good - have you done the grill surround in it as well?1 point

So I've decided to paint the wheels black due to a majorit.... LOL jk Anthracite, just gotta find the right weather for it. Haha he wasn't pleased when he saw we'd done that, but I'm slowly converting him to the VTEC side.. though I feel he wants VVTL-i more1 point

Get a car you can enjoy and afford at the same time. Being a car enthusiast, you need a car that makes you enjoy the drive. The miles you put into going to each meet must mean you enjoy driving an M....if it does, then buy your blooming sought after Deck!1 point

Honestly can't get enough of the car, and got plans for her. Nothing crazy, but all that comes after the stuff that's needed. The bad news is 'Wolf' has been left to dull duties such as being a luggage loader. But She deserves a wee brake...and also an MOT.1 point

Don't have to wait long to see whats next lol... Won a ToyoSports exhaust off ebay for £50 lol cost me £50 to get it sent up here because the guy wouldn't post but i didn't fancy the 7 hour round trip to go get it lol so managed to get a couple of people up that way from the civic5 facebook group who said they would pick it up and post it in the end the lad who i bought my vti-s off picked it up and sent it @Stocko it had already been extended aswell to fit the deck, it also sounds better than my vti-s now =/ Rach loves it and said she wont need her headunit any more1 point

I ordered a stopper for £32 of eBay. Seller bought and never fitted so brand new but opened. Good deal! I said I've stopped modding but as it's a track car, I need functional mods like stopper and discs.I so ordered 12 grooved Black Diamond discs to replace me shafted Mtec ones!1 point

Its a shame the new car is already on the way out. Sitting on the fence here, and I know we've all slagged you about it, but are you sure you've given it enough time? Even with the wee bit of bother you're having with it, at least its getting sorted for free. Hopefully then you'd not have to go anywhere near the Kia dealer again? If you are looking something else, what characteristics should it have? Use? Budget? Don't be impulse buying any more cars without running them past us first1 point

Mk2 golf ^^^ plus a cloud of black smoke !! Yeah they do mate .. I'm in no way associated with VAG stuff (but i do appreciate a well modified car).. However, my freind Paul who I knew through an old work place, had an S3, actually due to see him soon as he's just finished his 4th build and been mapped to just shy of 500BHP. . All of the work has been done by him and Bill @ Badger5 .. They also run/maintain/have built several race cars that ive seen go and jeeze ! !1 point
-
yeah not going there ever again! Progress, bought a new back box, given it to my mate to cut the box out and weld in a piece of pipe, should be good. Was chatting my new friend at the audi service centre across from us, hes finished his sleeper mk3 golf, looks lowered thats it, its got a 320bhp TT 1.8 turbo lol1 point

After I beat Jose and get the new unique performance part from Samantha. I'm in saving mode at the moment so after I've done car insurance and tax I'll be back on the big mods!1 point
