  1. Glad you got home ok mate, was great to see you again. Have to say that crv is clean as hell! Got yourself a good one there mate, deffo been looked after! Now, get that tailgate open and get our cups of tea made!!! Lol
  2. Lmao we all gay! You gay, Tom gay, everybody gay! Deffo good to drive Tom, had some fun already! Lol Found a couple of small niggles so shes booked in after we come back from hols to have them sorted. Apart from that though, alls good in Carlys world!
  3. So, decided to finally sell the Civic TypeR FN2 (Roxy) for something a lot cheaper to run as my daily driver. Enter Carly, my 2008 Mini Cooper! She's only had 2 owners from new (same as Roxy), full history, Lower mileage than Roxy and decent spec compared to some Coopers we've looked at. Also got a cracking deal with the garage which saw me getting the car plus cash for trading in the FN2 which was a bonus! The colour looks like a champange metallic, but is actually called "sparkling silver", which we've found out is quite a rare colour on the Coopers, so that's a bonus!. The cars been really well looked after by previous owner and is immaculate bar one wee tiny mark on the front bumper (and knowing my ocd, that'll be a new front bumper she's getting then! lol). Plans are new alloys same as DD's, spotlights, Cooper stripes in black, tint the rear windows, and some interior upgrades. Cracking wee car to drive, really handles sweet! And still quick enough for me to have fun with, but also excellent mpg and cheap tax compared to the FN2. Anyways, here she is...
  4. @UnicyclingTom hehehe, you gay! Lol we can fly flag togever! Seriously though mate it drives superb, handles like a go kart. Deffo prefer it to the typeR @dogg1210 no ieea why its doing that mate, will try and check tomorrow as been in hospital today and no long home.
  5. Tom, it's my daily driver, still got the deck which in my view is the proper Honda anyways. If I'm honest, after my experiences with the newer Honda's I can say I'm totally disillusioned with new Honda's. In a word, they're crap! Yes, the TypeR was fun when pushing on and giving it beans. As a useable daily car, it was crap. Try and drive it normally and it was a chore to drive. Suspension, although it handled good, was stupidly stiff. Fuel consumption was a joke, and I had my fair share of problems with it over the two or so years I had it. Couple that with piss poor build quality and more creaks and rattles than you can shake a stick at and I deffo stand by my opinion of newer Hondas. For a daily, I need something that doesn't cost a bomb to run, but still fun to drive. And something a bit different to the dullsville other cars that are around. The MINI cooper fits the bill on so many more levels than the TypeR, and even the TypeS. I just couldn't afford the bills and running costs anymore. Still got the deck, which I'll always have. And that's the main thing. My daily car needs to be something newer than the deck, and Honda just don't have any newer cars that suit my needs. Plus the MINI has even more chrome to piss you off lmao!!
  6. Lmao its actually champagne metallic although they named it sparkling silver. Wouldnt have another silver car mate. Was great seeing Phil today, nice to have a good chat away from civic5 (although we did have our tea in civic5 mugs! Lol). Really liking the CRV he got, clean as! Anyhoo, Roxy is now gone so better spill the beans on her replacement. Well, decided on a total change............so bought a gen 2 MINI Cooper! Know not everyones cup of tea, but i really like it. Still quick enough to have fun in, but cheap to run. Handles superb, more room inside than we thought and drives spot on. Got a crackkng deal (they got roxy, i got the cooper plus £450 plus got the price i wanted for roxy too! Shes the same year as roxy but with less miles. Got new wheels picked out for it already (same as DD's) and lots of other stuff too. Running this is gonna save me a fortune, so DD will get the attention she needs now. Will post pics in a bit, been running about daft today so not took any. Phils got one i think. Will start a new topic for her asap. So, Farewell Roxy, been fun!
  7. Love watching an engine come back together. Gonna be sweet mate.
  8. Be good to see this! And good to see you back in the club mate
  9. Damn it the secrets out! You had your spies taking photos of me new car. What you can't see in the photo is me just out of shot chasing the old codger that's just nicked it! lol lmao Wouldn't wanna cramp your style mate! I'll leave the hedges to you!
  10. lmao cheeky bugger! deffo not a diesel! You shall indeed (the car!) lol looking forward to seeing you mate!
  11. Let me know in the pm exactly whats happening mate @Chandler including any error codes. It let me upload from mine when I logged into your account.
  12. lmao it didnt last long though! was soon ragging the tits off it!
  13. Well, it's the end of the story for Roxy and me. She's been traded in for something completely different (which I'm keeping under wraps for now!). Goes away on Friday, so been busy stripping out the double din conversion etc and sat nave module for the head unit. Got to the point that fuel consumption was just too much for me (270 miles to a tank!), along with the £295 for tax (which was up at the end of the month), and the insurance which runs out 1st July. The MOT is also out on the 27th of this month, and she needs to front tyres and also the clutch is on the way out! Labour for the clutch is £600 alone plus the price of the clutch on top so just thought to hell with it, time to cut my losses and run! Was also getting fed up of the stiff suspension and tensing up if I even saw as much as a cigarette butt in the road! (Basically yeah, I'm getting too old for this shit!) So got offered a great deal on the trade in so went for it. The new car still does 0-60 in around 8.8 secs, so not too bad, but also still returns 52mpg. Road tax is £110 for the year and insurance is cheaper too. Meaning I'll be saving a shed load of money. Meaning I can mod it!!! Will reveal all on Friday. Going to be sad to see Roxy go, has been a really fun car to drive and will miss that power. But no point having a car like this if you can't drive it like it's meant to be driven. I think the garage owner is actually having the TypeR for himself or has someone in mind for her. As Gayle said, getting Roxy was something I just had to do at the time. I needed something quick to replace Ruby, and I'd always wanted a TypeR, so it was an itch I had to scratch. But I've been there and done it now, so time to move on. Hoping she stays local like my TypeS aka Lexy, as it would be nice to see her going about.
  14. Haha nice one mate! Drifting's ace isn't it! Gayle got me a drift experience last year, and totally loved it. Not as easy as it looks though! One thing I found was I was too gentle with the car (to start with! ) as you are with someone elses car, but once I got thrashing it that was it! Was hooked! Immense fun!
  15. Ah, sorry Anthony, don't think we have any of the exterior ones left mate. I'll have a look next time I'm in the garage and if there's one in amongst all the others I'll send it to you bud
  16. @Chandler I get what you're saying mate, but the last while I've had too much going on away from civic5 to have the time to go to meets and shows. College and exams has taken up a lot of my free time, plus I work every weekend and as I'm just part time, don't have a lot of hols to use. Then there's been other personal stuff such as Jims illness the past two years which although didn't affect the meets at first, they did have an effect the last year or so. I've been trying to split my time between so many things that have to take priority over the social side of civic5 mate. I'm still struggling for time even now, as we're trying to get Gayles move in here finalized (she's in, but we're upside down trying to fit in all the stuff as the house was already crammed full of my junk! lol So been driving rental vans moving stuff around etc. We still have her house to decorate top to bottom now before we can sell it so again, time isn't on my side just now. The major downside for me at the moment though is what has happened to Jim. With him passing away and me losing my best friend, my head really isn't in a good place at the moment. Once things are all settled (move finished, house sold, college stuff finalized) then I'll be at a hella lot more civic 5 social events includng the shows. Don't worry, you'll soon be moaning you're seeing too much of me! lmao I'll deffo get back into things on here mate, and DD will be doing the rounds up and down the country Apologies for not being around like I should, things will change soon
  17. Should be good to go now mate. Sorry about that! Was one setting on the Supporters group that was wrong (I must have had a blonde moment!) should be all ok now, let me know if problem persists.
