  1. I think this one was reputable enough.
  2. We're lucky to have those tow points! Better than grinding your oil pan to the pavement...
  3. Now even though i wouldn't do this to my car, i think this is an awesome idea well executed. Thumbs up!
  4. In addition to the shiny looks and racey sounds my 0-60 times have improved. I did some before and after pulls using G-tac Free on iphone to get the results. Even though they sound too good to be true, they give an idea that the car accelerates better now. Before fitting the exhaust, on the drive there the best time i got out of a series of pulls on similar stretches of road, was 7.69s. With the new exhaust, my best pull was 7.40s and a average out of five 7.48s. I highly doubt that the times can really be that good, but my bum dyno agrees that there's been an improvement! Especially in the mid-high range. So all in all money well spent!
  5. Actually only the aux belts are Gates, the timing belt is Nipparts. But i've got trust in this guy!
  6. Just trying to stand out from the crowd . I really like the late 80's/early 90's civics & accord with factory twin exits, even though sizewise they're ofcourse pretty different than this. What i would've loved best would be a single large exit on each side, but as this already cost quite a bit i wanted to save somewhere.
  7. So turns out my local garage has a new head mechanic who's got a built b16 eg! Asked him about this topic and he got back to me with a list of non-OEM parts (Nipparts, Gates, Airtex) that he guarantees are OEM quality. 250€ (205£) for cambelt + tensioner, water pump and 2 aux belts (don't need a aircon belt). I think i'm going with this one.
  8. Good to see someone taking a bit different modding route with their m, looking forward to seeing what's next. Liking the ride height!
  9. Nice job with the brakes and bars, should make quite a difference! But your new shifter looks longer than original to me?
  10. You mean this one i guess? http://civic5.com/forum/index.php?/topic/5799-kinks-eg-project/page-23 Yes that's pretty imperssive, something to aim for. Ordered the skunks, will be fitted in 2 weeks.
  11. Last week i made a little trip to the small town of Laitila in the finnish countryside to give my deck some well deserved tuneage. Had to wake up at 4:30 to make it there before 8... Martelius is a family business with over 30 years of experience building custom performance exhausts. Goodbye! This went straight to the bin. Well hello there! Unfortunately i don't have any more pics of the installation, was too anxious to take it for a spin afterwards. I'll do a oilchange soon and post more then but what's in the car now is a Tegiwa 4-2-1 (2,5" collector), Martelius 2,5" sports cat, custom stainless 2,25" midsection with one silencer and a 2,25" Magnaflow backbox. After a testdrive the mechanic took it for a short spin around the block so i could hear what it really sounds like, and i almost fell on the ground laughing once i heard it on full revs! The sound is, well, very race honda! Pretty much like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8KTaZkwEHr8 but with a bit more burble once you ease down on the throttle. It's quite loud when accelerating, but not obnoxiously, and when cruising at a steady speed you can barely hear any difference... as long as you keep it 75mph or under. I cruised at a pretty constant 85mph for the last 1,5 hours of the trip back home, and the loud, low hum gave me a headache... Well (luckily?) most of the roads have 60mph speed limits so hopefully that won't be much of a problem. No pain, no gain! But i'm glad i got this finally done, had been collecting the bits for over 3 years.
  12. They gains are in the adjustabilty you get when combined with Hondata or a similar engine management system.
  13. Really, no one? At the moment i'm think about these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Skunk2-Cam-Gears-Pro-Series-Black-90-01-Integra-DOHC-B16-B17-B18-B20-H23A1-2-Pcs-/221181001619 Skunk2 has other engine goodies that look tempting too so this might be a good way to start. I'm going to the states in late June so IF i can wait for that long, i'll save shipping & import tax and with the cheaper retail price save a total of 100€ compared to buying from the EU!
  14. Bearing fixed. Distributor rotor replaced (had a seized screw). Fuel filter changed. Got a dodgy one at first from ebay, glad i took a look inside before fitting it. It had either rust or muck or something inside . But luckily the garage had one that fitted right on their shelf. Passed MOT last week, but with 2 notifications. The guy said i need new rear blinkers. I told him what are you talking about man i just checked them and they worked! So he put them on said "tell me what colour they are". Well... they were almost white. The orange had burnt away from the bulbs. So he won and i lost 4€ in new bulbs. But i think i can live with that! Second thing on the list was that my backbox was hanging a bit, one of the supports had rusted off. But that's no problem since on friday i'm getting a complete new exhaust with mad Magnaflow sounds!!! Last friday gave my summer wheels a bit of clean and polish and washed my winter wheels. Washed them thoroughly. VERY thoroughly. And this is how they look: Yes, i know, some of you told me that polished lips and winter isn't a good combo... and now i believe you! But in the end i don't think the Rials even looked that good on the deck... i had 14" Compomotive CXN honeycombs on my old MA8 and i really liked them so thought the 15" Rials would work as well, but no. So i think i'll polish these (again... ) and sell them away, hopefully for a decent price. And then i can get the deep dish XXR's that i was warned about for next winter!
  15. Now this is interesting. Especially the painted calipers.
  16. Thanks man, didn't know about the rocket cover gasket.
  17. I'll buy a whale p***s at some point. Noise is half the fun, anyway! But is p***s really such a naughty word in the english language, that is has to be censored?
  18. Found somebody who can do this in his garage but need to gather all the necessary parts for him. Belt, tensioner and water pump atleast. I went through my bits box at my parents garage and found old auxiliary belts that were replaced last time, wonder how necessary it is to change those. Anything else? Some specials bolts etc. needed?
  19. Got the horn wroking again, turned out i have aftermarket horns and the previous owner had added a extra fuse that had blown i had no idea even existed. But problem solved, and now that i know about the custom horn i can add one more thing to my mods list.
  20. Well well... while checking the connections and following the wires all the way i found this hidden between the battery wires. Had no idea at first what it was but a trip to the store and learnt it was a fuse. I just have no clue why the previous owner added this, since there's already a 20A fuse and a relay under the hood... but main thing is that after replacing it the horn now works fine.

    how to buy

I've used Nengun also. Just be prepared to pay a lot more than the asking price... i ordered a set of rims and the final price including shipping & taxes was over twice than what i payed for just the wheels. Shipped to Finland. But i don't think it makes much of a difference which EU country the order ends up in, if it's coming from outside the EU.
