  1. x 2 . -15c outside at the moment over here! Wouldn't mind a roof over the deck's head..
  2. Hate to hear about this! One spectacular m and 57 pages of build thread, that's quite a lot of work you've put in. But one man's loss is another mans fortune, hope the parts will find good homes in fellow civicfivers' builds! If i'd live in the UK i'd be dibbing as well.
  3. Well i think you just answered yourself, if you like changing plugs like why not platinum .
  4. All right will do. Genuine honda parts for the cap and rotor + perhaps Magnecor KV85 leads to add a bit of upgrade?
  5. I'm changing my plugs tomorrow, and started thinking if i should also replace my dizzy cap and rotor, and maybe even leads at the same time. Should you replace them at certain intervals, or only if they start looking worn or cracked or eroded etc.? I've had my MC2 for almost 5 years and only replaced the plugs twice so far. The car runs fine.
  6. Good to hear! I'm sure you'll figure it out eventually. Lights and grille look better now... even though i'm a bit undecided about the pink H!
  7. Okay finally voted. Was a really tough decision but settled on a certain blue deck . But gotta admit i hadn't realised how sweet Knight's mb was until now... one of the nicest hatches around and certainly worth all the votes.
  8. Try to ask around for for last season tires. Usually companies bring out a new tire each year so the last season models are sold for a lot cheaper, if still available. It might take some time, but you can save 100-200€ or maybe even more so it's well worth the effort. Ofcourse in theory older tires are not as good as brand new ones because they get harder each year, but mine are 5 years old at the moment and i haven't really noticed a difference in drivability so i wouldn't worry about that really.
  9. Hope you don't mind me posting the link here since that's exactly what i've been waiting for! So easy to compare cars and then check out your favourites' build threads. I think i'm ready to make my decision soon... https://www.facebook.com/groups/civic5/?fref=ts
  10. I'm thinking the same way, my common sense says that by setting the vtec engagement lower would give more more power on lower rpm and the same on high rpm as a higher engagement point. So better all-around performance, just the kick would be less aggressive. And fuel consumption more . But i very rarely go over 4000 when just cruising from a to b so i don't think it would hurt. And when flooring it, who cares about mileage!!!
  11. RHD = JDM atleast here haha! so maybe even score some extra £££ But like krzys said, doubt the time come, at least hope not!
  12. As i'm honored this year to be in the Car of the Year vote, i thought i'd sum up all the mods i've done and what this deck is all about. You can see my current winter look from the post above, here are a few pics of how she looks like when it's a bit warmer: r: More photos on page 5. Some GoPro track video from last summer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NY7qKdVAFSY And some older incar-footage from 2011: This is what i said back in 2009 in my first post here in Civic5: "It wasn't in the best possible condition when i got it and still needs lots of work, but slowly and surely it's starting to turn into what i hope one day will be the lowest, fastest and baddest Aerodeck in Finland." Now over 4 years later "slowly and surely" still apply , but it's come quite a way. My philosphy has been to upgrade parts instead of just replacing them, with the goal of eventually improving the car all round. I guess i want the best of all worlds so a bit of stance, a bit of race and a bit of ICE has been my recipe. Here's the current spec/mod list: Engine bay and transmission B18C4 TSS tuning intake kit Optima Yellowtop battery NGK iridium spark plugs Exedy Stage 1 clutch ITR flywheel and ARP bolts Suspension H&R coiloverkit TSS tuning (Blox) front camber kit Powerflex bushes (front) Brakes Stock pads and calipers (painted red) DOT 5.1 brake fluid Wheels and tires Summer: 17 x 7.5 / 17 x 8.5 Volk Evo 3's with 195/40 Falken ZE912 Track: 15 x 6.5 League 273's with 195/50 Toyo Proxes R888 Winter: 15 x 7 Rials with 195/55 Continental ContiVikingContact 3 studless winter tires Exterior Full VTI-S lip kit Fully de-badged De-chromed headlights Osram Nightbreaker bulbs Headlight washer delete Custom mesh grille Tinted windows Clear repeaters Short antenna Aero wipers White license plate screw caps Interior Handmade black floor mats with red lining Moman plasma dials (with realistic top speed!) Needless to say Civic5 has been an invaluable site for support on this build so thanks to everyone who's helped or commented along the way. Don't forget to check out all the other COTY-nominees here and may the best M-civic win!
  13. Winter look: Can almost fit a finger there! Not really much need for winter tires at the moment but the law is the law, and atleast i'll ready for some extreme vtec understeer fun when the flakes finally fall .
  14. Wow. Even the cheapest totally stock post-facelift 1.5's start at 1000€ / £850 over here. And a decent condition 1.4 can have a price tag of 2500€ / £2100...
  15. Whaaaat! Go for it! I'm sure that's worth way more than £800 in parts even if it wouldn't run. Full vti-s kit, full leathers etc., wheels... if this'd be over here in Finland i'd buy it straight away. But are the fogs oem? Look a bit big to me.
