  1. Well that's two of them fully welded working tomorrow so I'm going to get in early and try get another one done.
  2. Yeah it handy we have both cnc and manual machines. Downstairs is sheet metal and heavy welding so I have access to rollers, guillotine etc etc
  3. Went in early to work this morning and managed to get the other two wheels ready
  4. I suppose that it's possible, but I'm unsure if I'd want to do it. Either that or look for some 16s and use a pcd adapter but means you could go as wide. Honda may do some in 4x100 so could do a hub swap. A lot of bother for an extra inch lol
  5. Lol good find tom! I went to a local scrappy and asked if they had any steels from an almera/primera or accord. Was very lucky to find 4 accord steels sitting on the rack marked up with 4x114.3 on them been wanting a set for ages but companies were wanting like £90 plus postage for 4 steels hope to the other two split, rolled and tacked by tomorrow.
  6. Cheers guys! Got a front wheel all tacked up today during my breaks.
  7. Made a start to making my own banded steelies got the wheel loaded up in the lathe and parted off the lip, I then cut some strips of 3mm steel an rolled them. I then tacked the band to the outer lip, loaded the wheel back in the lathe to true it all up as best I could and tack weld the rim back on. Just got another 3 todo now an fully weld them

    Banded steel wheels

From what iv read if I were to make the rears 9" that would give me 16x9 et25. Similar to what chandler runs. What size tyres do you have @Chandler?

    Banded steel wheels

Well got one of the wheels in the lathe today. That's when iv realised that the wheels are infact 16" by 7" et50. I dealt wanted 15s and that's what they said the were. Think I'm going to fit them and measure what room I have.

    Banded steel wheels

Wow! Thanks for that mate. So looks like the 9s on the rear should fit. My cars pretty low at the front and I get scrubbing sometimes with my vtis rims as 195 55s. Il get the wheels made and worry about making them fit later lol il probably have to remove the from arch liners.

    Banded steel wheels

Thanks for the input guys! Think I'd go with 195 45s. I already have ambers arms fitted on the rear but could probably do with rolling the arches.
  12. Hi guys, just picked myself up some accord 15" steel weeks from the scrappy. They are 15x6 et50. I'm wondering if il get away with a 2" band upfront to give me 8" and 3" on the back to make 9". I was originally going to go with 8.5" on the back but I'm sure iv seen some decks with 9s. Anyone any input? Cheers
  13. Tried on there and nobody had any. @Grant has two. Sure iv tried Adam and 10000rpm too.
  14. Yeah it's a bit annoying especially with the colder weather. Looking forward to the drive to work on Monday morning now lol
  15. I need 3 more mb6 steel wheels. Someone help!! Lol got the bands ready forthem
  16. Small maintenance update. Iv noticed my thermostat ha seen sticking recently, and with the colder mornings it was taking an age to heat up picked up a new thermostat today from the motor factors and fired it out whilst my daughter was napping lol Iv also stripped the b18c4 from my mb6. Wanting to fin out the cause of the smoking. Going to take the head into work on Monday for a pressure test, if that's all good then il strip the block and check the pistons.
  17. Nice build mate! Keep up the good work!
  18. Nice work mate! Has the conversion cost much? Any chance of a quick run down of the parts required?
  19. Where did you get your arches rolled mate? Dd you buy your own roller? Need more pics in your thread
  20. Having owned both I'd have to say I prefer the deck! Practicality was a big part for me with having two kids. The big boot is awesome and it's surprising what you can fit in a deck. And I just think that modded estate cars look cool! Gives you the cool dad points lol
  21. Nice work mate! Future plans sound good!
  22. I haven't carried out these mods on my deck (yet!) my shifter is pretty sloppy so it something I'm going to look into!
