Great guy to talk to on here, didn't get the pleasure of talking to him in person though. Rest in peace.
  2. Got quite lucky really. "OEM Quality" ones are about £20 but I found a used one out of a DC2 going for £6! Seller assures me it's fully working. If it doesn't work I can open a claim.
  3. MOT booked for the 27th. Getting the garage to do the thermostat for me as well. I just scored one off eBay for £6. She should pass with no actual advisories. I'm expecting a comment about the exhaust though.
  4. So I might as well buy coilies with a credit card and slowly pay that back?
  5. I've had a contract phone for about 8 months now, never missed a payment. Not enough? Considering the credit card route, maybe just use it for petrol or something.
  6. They refused me finance. Probably because I don't actually have a credit score.

    Flying

I like flying as long as I'm on a big Boeing or Airbus with entertainment screens. Lufthansa have quite a good selection of new and old films, cartoons and even some interesting documentaries.
  8. Hopefully! Also the fan switch didn't fix my fan issue so next thing to replace is thermostat.
  9. Same thing happened when I got the oil changed in both the engine and gearbox. Felt like a completely different car! Can't wait for leads and intake after payday.
  10. They look less obvious on black I reckon.
  11. Just gave the MB6 a slightly overdue spark plug change. Out goes the old NGK "R" plugs and in goes some nice NGK Iridiums. Already noticed it doesn't need as much cranking to start and it's more eager to rev now, as if it wasn't before.
  12. I was going to say B18, but that's a bit "duh?".
  13. Well whatever fits an EG, DC2, etc. surely must also fit in our cars. So H22, K20, etc.
  14. Snap! I also had a leaky boot and my sunroof let in so much water that my A pillars were always damp. I would get all this crap fixed if the car was worth saving. It's not even due to the recent problems, if the brake lights didn't fail, I reckon it would've failed the MOT on excessive rust anyway. Well considering you bought an MB9, most of it will probably come in handy one day.
  15. Yeah! All I can do now is hope nothing else goes wrong and that the replacement car is trouble-free.
  16. I'll probably save a small fortune with not having to buy replacement bulbs or fuses for a while.
  17. Unfortunately, yes. It'll live on in parts at least. Yeah I have a Haynes manual and I can bring up the forums on my phone too. So far I've not had a problem that hasn't been solved by doing a quick search. I did notice none of the water was dripping out from the drain hole. I've already nicked a few bits off it. All the cleaner interior switches and buttons are now in the MB6, as well as some missing clips and things. Once I have a replacement car the MB3 will be going onto my parents' driveway to be broken properly. I'll probably chuck a thread up on here once that happens.
  18. 162. It's basically a stock motor anyway so I'm happy. Only lost a few ponies in 14 years/94k miles! I think it's because the moment you travel at any sort of speed, there's enough air flow to not need a fan at all. It's only in traffic that my temps creeped up.
  19. I'm running Land Rover MTF in the MB6. Gearbox has never felt better to be honest!
  20. Today the front passenger window had the great idea to come off the runner. It fell down behind the door card but luckily it didn't smash into a thousand pieces. Plenty of scratches though. I managed to get it back onto the runner and between the weatherstripping, but if I put the window down it falls off again. I've just disconnected the power window wiring so that I wont accidentally lower it when I forget about all this tomorrow. Whilst I had the door card off (@Krzys it really is easy to take them off!) I saw that there was a bit of water at the bottom of the door, so I think all these recent problems have been caused by water getting into the car. I don't know what else is going to fail and at this rate I don't want to find out. The MB3 is MOT'd until December so I have until then to find a suitable replacement. I'm looking for either a MB3/MB9, an EP1/EU7 or a Toyota Starlet. The MB3 will likely end up being broken and used for spare parts after that.
  21. Recieved some NGK Iridium spark plugs today, thanks to ID-Workz Performance Parts. They'll be going in this weekend, as well as a new fan switch because the current one has died. Fun fact: MB6's don't overheat, even without a working fan.
  22. They're so rare that this section of the forum doesn't mention them. Think it needs to be amended now.
