Shafzzz replied to ammarbm's topic in Honda Civic MA/MB/MC
This'll all look good when done, just enjoy it and drive safe, I know everyones financial situation is different but can only offer advice, as long as you enjoy it and drive sensibly I don't see why it'd cause much bother, enjoy the car I look forward to seeing this at japfest bro!- 1,321 replies

I have some generic mats in mine atm which are crap and end up turning sideways the more I drive. I need some 'genuine' or proper EP3 fitment ones but not sure what to get! The window rattle is annoying as I'm one of the drivers that drives with the windows down but heaters on haha, both of mine do it too but someone on type R owners sells a window rattle fix kit for I think £8 which provides a seal towards the glass so it doesn't have the room to rattle etc, may be worth a look! Yeah my MOT and Tax is the month after eachother which gets quite expensive!

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/180629518622?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT There you go mate, connects directly to the stock speaker harness as well as the new components, says it's for an accord but it works on civics too Thanks! I need to prioritise the suspension bits and new rear tyres so I can get another alignment once lowered, luckily I work closely with a garage (pictured above) so it's not too bad to sort out!

Smalllll Update! Raised the exhaust back up, and started finding out what I'm getting for my birthday from my car mates (1 week from now), my mates bought me a set of component speakers for the front with adaptor rings and the plug adaptor for the standard Honda plugs, @Roj is buying me something I'll reveal closer to the time. I've bought myself an Eibach 20/15mm Pro Kit, Therefore lowering it a total of 40/35mm over a standard non type R civic, so it'll sit nicely and still allow me to navigate around London. Pics time! Ignore the blatant instagramness please. I also did an interior LED bulb upgrade with new sidelights cause one of my old ones started flickering: They're obviously much brighter in person and really gives a nice look when you unlock the car, or when you take the key out after turning the car off, really nice bright LEDs. Going to get the windows tinted after the bonnet is sorted, as well as the Eibachs on when @Roj gets down here for our mini Honda weekend!

I can't live with the window rattle that much anymore because my subwoofer makes it rattle even more lol, but the wind deflectors help a fair bit if the windows a tiny bit down! I may have a go at the dash bulbs then.. Oo MOT time! Yours is mint so nothing to really worry about! I really want the red mats for summer but not sure if it's too garish in a prefacelift which hasn't got as much red in the interior as a facelift!

I'm gonna say something rather risky on civic5.. but I was gonna polish my.. gearknob cause apparently when you sand them down etc they turn out a mirror/chrome finish and it looks rather good... Maybe you should try it on your old gearknob and see how it turns out? That's enough about polishing my knob though. Dash bulbs are quite common but yeah the rain this weekend down here anyway was bad, my cars filthy again :/ but glad you're sorting the minor issues, My rear demister button doesn't light up unless i punch the dashboard next to it

YES THEN ANDY!!!
-
Can't wait to get the meisters on too, I might order my eibachs for the same weekend Haha

I'm 22 in a couple of weeks, so 10 years ago I was actually the age Roj keeps telling me I am
-
Mines a 52 plate so quite an early one so just being precautious and gonna get a rack raiser haha. I wasn't anywhere near driving age 10 years ago...
-
The NS2R's are actually good though! And yeah I've got mates who've lowered their EP3s without rack raisers and they now bumpsteer like crazy and make weird noises haha
-
I'll get a rack raiser don't worry I'm not a chump LOL
-
I was looking at NS2R's or 595RSRs for my EP3 on my next set of wheels for fast road/track, really good value for money they are!
-
Yeah, I was thinking of running a similar cone setup to yours in winter, then the airbox in summer but I'm not sure, depends really cause weathers unpredictable!
-
Sounds brilliant, much louder than mine on tec, any heatsoak?
-
Yeah my midpipe literally gives me no ground clearance cause of how it's 2 piece and how it is, so I want a custom midpipe that's slightly more tucked so I can lower it 30mm or so! Yeah I need the bonnet on ASAP!
-
Went to a rather large local meet over the weekend (300+ cars) and had a play with a few other Hondas as well as got inspired for future modifications. Bonnet will be going on ASAP and I need to get a new midpipe made ASAP cause the meet highlighted how badly this thing needs lowering, which just isn't possible with the current B pipe I should be getting the windows tinted soon too! OEM spec like a premier editions

Uniroyal Rainsport 3's are the same, I also hear good things about Potenza S001 and Potenza Adrenalin RE002s although I've never had them in any of my cars personally, I've been in a 400bhp scoob on Adrenalins and they were brilliant.. but that could be the AWD grip fooling me
-
I had budgets on the front when I bought it and it'd spin until the middle of 3rd in the wet, was incredibly bad haha, I'd never get cheap/part worn tyres on an EP3 but that's me, all depends on how hard you drive it too tbh
-
Are they T1Rs? If so then they're horrendous in the wet
-
I have Uniroyal Rainsport3s that grip so well in the wet it might aswell be dry.. @Roj knows this. I suppose coming from the BMW flinging the EP3 around corners is easy to do, but lift off oversteer is very very very easy to do on these terrible rear tyres.
-
Exactly! Have you made yours tripod yet? I have haha, JDM RARB makes it so easy/scary. Really want my bonnet on ASAP but soonest I can get it on the car is after my birthday (about a months time)
-
They came with my JDM RARB and it all works fairly well tbh, it handles very composed and the JDM RARB made a massive difference, just make sure you're on good rear tyres as I'm on some crap budgets at the rear, but really good tyres at the front atm (changing rears next week) and the back end is a bit... lively Thanks bro! Going for a different route to other EP3s out there

Had some nice weather on Sunday, and as it'd been through most of winter and gotten filthy, thought it was time to give it a well deserved wash Looks like I got excited... Turned out really nice though I'll add a pic in later cause photobucket is being awkward about 12MP pics... But now this is finally on Looks amazing in person, fitment is spot on, very very happy, making me wanna get the bonnet on even sooner!
