  1. Rear tread uneven. Must be from handbrake turns... Another new pair of tyres 😊
  2. Garage has said its not my wheel bearings. They done a check and drove it ans they said the rear tyres are causing the noise. Don't wanna buy 2 new tyres if it isn't the problem
  3. I wouldn't trust cheap nasty coilovers. My friend got 140quid coilovers from eBay and within 2 weeks both front shocks had blown. Personally I'm going for MeisterR but for your budget some springs should do you fine
  4. This stuff eh http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Einszett-Gummi-Pflege-Stick-Rubber-Door-Seal-Restorer-Suit-MGF-MGTF-MX5-AUDI-/261388170537 EDIT Just bought some, I'll run it over the window rubbers at the front and report back
  5. Rears are good Fronts are still very snug and the window mechanisms don't like it too much. May need to soften the rubber!
  6. It still operates from the inside provided I hold the whole thing together Might not need to remove the door card, just the few screws holding the handle on. Fingers crossed eh.
  7. So my interior door handle has just broken It had no return spring since I bought it but looks as though something has broken inside. Easy job to sort out? I've messaged PaulVTi about his breaking thread.
  8. Awesome Be sure to get plenty of pictures during the messy work
  9. Hi I received my Heko wind deflectors today for my MB6. I've had (previously owned) wind deflectors before which just stuck on. The Heko ones come with 4 metal clips and some crude diagram of what I;m meant to do with them. But I couldn't figure it out, anyone have some pics? Also, the rears fit nicely but the fronts seem so tight that the window has trouble doing up and there's a 10mm gap drivers' side. Thanks
  10. My personal view is the potential gains to potential risk ratio. You may get better gains from a long arm induction but also increased risk of sucking up some H2O. I'll stick with a short arm for now, suits me fine. I'm sure with correct heat wrapping and shielding the heatsoak can be managed. Unless you have an actual method of testing, most things like that are generally placebo. Example, people who fit a big bore to their 1.1 Saxo and think it's gained 15HP. All noise eh.
  11. Thanks I know nothing much is going on at the moment, just some TLC and maintenance. Coilovers will be in a month or two. MeisterR's or BC's. I can't decide!
  12. Car booked in at a local garage to have both rear bearings done. £199.80 for parts and labour. Seems fair, bearings alone are £100+ a piece on eBay! Also bought 5L of Fuchs Titan Super 5W-40 full synthetic oil
  13. I'm on 89k Got my mum to phone up her local garage as they know her well. She's just waiting to hear back from them with a quote. Should be a good price as they always say "cash is king"
  14. Yeah, £50 seemed a good deal. Not wanting to fork out £200 for 2 bearings but needs are a must. My friend is a KwikFit manager and I usually get things at cost
  15. Ah okay I thought it was 4x100! I'll get some quotes from local garage. I have a severe case of cba at the moment.
  16. I need 2 rear wheel bearing for my MB6. EuroCarParts are selling some for £100 a piece. My friend suggested these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-Civic-95-01-1-6-5-Door-MB-Rear-Wheel-Bearing-Kit-Rear-Hub-1-97-2-01-/221019530048?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Model%3ACivic&hash=item3375ca6340 Do all MBs share the same rear wheel bearings? I'd like as close to OE quality as possible so I might pass on the eBay ones.. Cheers
  17. I can see a small family living in your arch gap! This is in dire need of some lows.
  18. I've always put my old 10w40 engine oil in my gearbox in previous cars. No ill effects Similar viscocity to 90W gear oil
  19. More than happy to do it myself. I did want anothetr stamp in the service book but the cost of the service is more than what it'd keep to the value of the car..if anything at all. Some decent 5W40 fully synth oil and NGK plugs should do me fine Got a friend willing to do the wheel bearing for me too.
  20. Just had a quote on some work to be done: - Full service - Brake fluid flush - Clutch fluid flush - Coolant flush - Front wheel bearing WITHOUT fitting £366. Seems far too steep considering I could do most of it myself.
  21. So my Pipercross R-Power filter arrived Cheap and cheerful. I've had many cheap filters in the past but this one seems quite well constructed. The material seems quite dense and holding it up to the light lets in very little light. I've also bought some filter oil which should arrive tomorrow. What's everyone's opinions on filter oil? Yay or nay? I've never oiled mine in the past Ignore my messy work desk
  22. What is your target setup? Induction kit with CAI or airbox with a panel filter? Personally I'd get a cold air feed to the factory airbox with a Pipercross filter. If it's noise you want then get an AEM short arm induction kit. I've got a short arm AEM coupled with a Pipercross R-Power filter.
