  1. Stumbled across this today http://www.rac.co.uk/drive/car-reviews/honda/civic/207658/
  2. So, Gayle had got me a driving experience, so had it booked for today. Driving what? A Ferrari California and a Lamborghini Gallardo on the track! The track itself is laid out on an old air strip. The Ferrari only had a V8, but wholly cow the power was awesome, really scary the acceleration these things have! Loved it! Then got to drive the Lambo.............which has the V10! OMFG! This thing is an animal!!!! The acceleration is brutal, and it just keeps going! All steering is done racing style, and you just point it and it goes there! Totally unbelievable car, and the sound is just amazing! The instructor in the Lambo (a Welsh guy ) was a racing driver (can't remember what he races in) so showed some awesome lines to take to really make it fly. As we were on the last lap, he said instead of braking for the corner as usual, we're going straight on....................so keep the foot planted until I say brake!! I glanced at the speedo when we went through the chicane, and think it was around 120mph (it was going up so fast was hard to make it out!) but reckon we must have hit maybe 150? before braking then coming back in to the stand area. My bloody adrenaline was going faster than the car bye the end! So I've decided......bugger vtec! I want a Lambo! Massive thanks to Gayle for this amazing experience! Love ya babes!

  9. I'm in the process of finding some alloys for the MB, I'm looking at the following wheels, I'm looking at 15x9 ET-0 (and I know that "ET0 won't fit") but I have plans to remedy that.. The next stage is to choose White, Black or Silver as the chosen colour.. I did a little bit of photoshopping RPF1's onto a black VTI I found on Google, The RPF1 is a great looking wheel but not wide enough for my plans. The toss up now is between Rota Kyusha, J-MAG, Alecia or Ultralite UL48/Traklite Holeshot's at the moment. The Ultralites are my current forerunning wheel but a bit of input and fresh opinion might be cool!
  10. Does anyone know if these will fit the mb6 been offered them for free

  16. A bit odd topic perhaps but bear with me Does it matter to you guys what kind of wiper blades you use? I think that especially in older cars (pre 2000's mainly) it can make some difference like having nice set of wheels. Small detail of the car but still. Now i've been looking for Sumex Stainless steel wiper blades (chrome). Seen lots of those in british web stores (Ebay, Amazon). Since lots of those are sold by UK stores i wonder if they fit left hand drive vehicles? Since the wiper blades goes reversely. Anyway i used to have Ashuki spoiler wiper blades in my old -88 CRX and they looked pretty nice. Blended in nicely. Not too showy but okay addition in terms of style and practicality. I loved the design. Simple and good looking like the old Hondas from late 80's. Decided to bring this issue up just because im curious if anyone in general pays any attention to such details. Or is too ricy Sumex: Ashuki:
  17. I have now fitted chrome door footplates, clear indicators,Honda centre caps, parcel shelf, gear knob, repainted the wipers black and have exhaust tip on the way and a MG spoiler ready to paint. Also got it some dark green turtle wax polish for just £4 with chip pen,and degreased the engine!
  18. Hello everyone. Thought I would share with you my new project. I used to have a project thread a few years ago but cant seem to log on to my old account and cant find my project anywhere so thought id just start a new one seeing as the car in now going in different direction . What started a few years ago as a bit of an all rounder and leaning more towards show car has now turned into a dedicated track and race car. My goal is to spend this year getting my race licence and preparing my car to enter the track attack Nippon challenge next march. This year is currently running at the moment so will be going to watch a few races and hopefully meet a few of the drivers. I have nearly all the parts for a big turbo setup which i was going to fit this summer but now i want to race im going to hold off on this as it would put me in the very competitive GT400 series. By leaving the engine standard ill be entering the GT200 series which for a novice i will be much more suited for. If all goes well and i re enter the year after ill build the engine and fit the turbo and go for the bigger leagues. For now its all about just getting into racing and having fun. Obviously seeing as it’s a racing series the car has to be built to the MSA blue book regulations which is what im working my way through at the moment. The project which im doing in my spare time has only just started and iv got plenty of time between now and next march to get the car built and tested on track days so i am taking my time. I don’t want to make any stupid mistakes either as the regulations are quite strict and im still learning. Any advice from anyone who does track days a lot or is involved in motorsport in any way would be much appreciated. Any way here is a few pics of how it stands now.
  19. Hi all need a little help. I'm going to get the k sport big brake upgrade, 330mm rotors, 8 pot calipers for my mb6. My problem is what car to buy them for as they don't do the kit for our cars. Most people upgrade their brakes to our 286 discs and calipers which seem to bolt on to a lot of other civics and from what I can work out are the same as the older dc2 with the 4x114 stud pattern. If the older dc2 brakes are the same as ours does that mean they will bolt up directly to our hubs? If so I should buy the ksport kit for the dc2 and it will be a straight bolt on job? Any input from someone with good knowing on this would be great as its a lot of money to buy them only to find out they don't fit.
  20. I used to be a member of HondaCivicForum but stopped using the Site once my security told me it was a Site best avoided. Below is the official warning I received via email : Notice of Data Breach You may have heard reports recently about a security issue involving VerticalScope. We would like to make sure you have the facts about what happened, what information was involved, and the steps we are taking to help protect you. VerticalScope owns and operates a number of community websites. You are receiving this email because you are a registered user of the following community website(s) involved in the data breach: www.hondacivicforum.co.uk What Happened? On June 13, 2016, we became aware that February 2016 data stolen from VerticalScope was being made available online. What Information Was Involved? Community member usernames, email addresses, hashed passwords, community userIDS, community website, and the IP address the username originally registered with. What We Are Doing We have invalidated passwords of all VerticalScope user accounts. We have posted a site security notification on each site updating users on the potential risk to certain accounts, the password reset and steps we are implementing to improve security. We have implemented stronger password rules (passwords now require a minimum of 10+ characters and a mixture of upper- and lower-case letters, numbers and symbols) along with automated account password expiries to encourage more frequent password changes. We will remind our users to use good password practices (not using the same password for multiple online accounts and using unique strong passwords). We are in the process of implementing additional safeguards to detect, alert and mitigate any future brute force attempts, and have notified our third party vendors that interact with our various forum API's of the February breach to allow their own security teams to investigate. We are continuing our investigation and will be collecting information to provide to the appropriate law enforcement authorities. VerticalScope is taking steps to strengthen account security. We were already using encrypted passwords and salted hashes to store passwords, and our new password controls are intended to further strengthen user security. We are taking steps to investigate and test new encryption and security technologies to further protect our users. What You Can Do To keep your account as safe as possible, we recommend that you regularly change your VerticalScope community password, and that you use a unique password for each of your online accounts. Using the same password for multiple online accounts significantly increases your chances of being compromised. Even though the passwords stolen in February were hashed, we recommend that if you were using (or are currently using) your VerticalScope community password across multiple online accounts, that you change your password for such other online accounts. We encourage you to regularly review your accounts and report any suspicious or unrecognized activity immediately. For More Information If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our Community Management team by email at cmsupport@verticalscope.com or on the website that you frequent. A support thread has been created on each website, and our support teams are on there to help you through the process and answer any questions you may have. A Notice of Data Breach is also available on community websites involved in the data breach.
