Well left work the night and was getting a bit heavy footed on the motorway! Didn't notice the police behind me and they where there for about 2 miles! Any ways they pulled me ask why I was driving so fast and I just said I was being a d**k and know I shouldn't have been driving as quick. He done the usual checks told me to drive slower then let me go no points, fine, f all. They could've been right d**ks but didn't . Thankfully1 point

Don't keep those coilovers waiting too long, best to fit coilovers asap to see if they are good and not knocking as it probably be too late then and seller won't be liable unless there's warranty.1 point

If you get new LCAs and LCA bolts, you can just remove the old suspension and LCA as a single unit and avoid dealing with that infamous seized LCA bolt!1 point

Yes the tps can give a few prods with it like hunting from start up especially if you have left the car standing for a few days or been away on holiday . Sometime when you trying to crawl in traffic but when warmed up and car as been driving not so much . And having a scooby . . not so sure on backfire myself I like my gasses to come straight out and away not pop and bang to get out @Krzys @Dave1 point

I like my backfiring car That's good that Western Honda have sorted, well nearly all of it, and you have her back again! Can't believe you nearly sold it as well My car is giving me slight problems as well but you just gotta ride the wave of disappointment for a while until its all better again.....1 point

thought this might help people when choosing wheels and tyre size options!! the first link is very helpful for the dimensions and shows quite clearly about the clearance offset etc and has helped me calculate the offset and dish of my new wheels http://www.wheel-size.com/calc/?wheel1=195-40-16X9ET20&wheel2=215-40-16X9ET15&fcl=50mm&wcl=30mm&scl=50mm this one has helped me gauge a understanding about the stretched tyres and offset etc, slightly more simple than the first link, but still nice and helpful!! http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php?width=215&aspect=40&diameter=16&wheelwidth=9&offset=20&width2=215&aspect2=40&diameter2=16&wheelwidth2=9&offset2=15#content1 point

Have been using the second one for my future Accord project. Really handy!1 point

I did check the how to section but thought I missed it. Reason I was asking is that I was going to do a 'how to' on the clutch replacement. Was just checking no-one had done one before as that would have wasted my time. If my pictures and explanation are good enough, then feel free to make it a sticky!1 point

I have never been stopped in my mb6's, but used to get pulled a lot in previous civics (ek4 and ep3) both with loud exhausts. Think they understand mb drivers are mature enthusiasts not boy racers! funniest moment when I was younger was when me and two friends went out racing. ep3 - eg k20 - accord type r, we pulled off the petrol station all tyres lit up giving it some, I spotted a police car right away behind us with sirens on so ducked into a side street, they stopped my friend in the eg k20 and gave him a section 59. we continued on through the night and on the way home we had another run on the highway, soon as we pulled off from the roundabout I spotted a police car and pulled onto a side road with the police chasing my friend in the eg k20.. I seen him later and apparently they caught up with him after 2 miles.. he pulled away so quickly he didn't see them for a few minutes as they were left so far behind. it was the same police car as earlier, they apparently reported him but he never heard back since and the eg k20 got sold on soon after that evening.1 point

so it appears i had a flat tyre when i got to work tonight after the first time in driving it for about 2 weeks! my mate has still got my jack for the civic and being low and awkward i asked someone at work to use theirs, well on our way to get their jack i thought about using one of our pallet trucks considering these can lift up to 2300KG went out to try and well it worked!!1 point

Not really hunting @DAVEMB2, the idle when first started from cold is around 1800rpm, but drops off pretty quickly. I think the actual "fly by wire" throttle combined with the stiff suspension and crap roads exagirates the problem, as your foot can bounce about on the throttle. Any slight dab or back-off of the throttle makes her quite jerky. But deffo think that there's something wrong with the way these drive when first started. Even more so when its very cold outside. But on saying that, she has improved massively, as it really was bad before. She's still got that problem, but its only slight now. But the difference in her power is whats amazed me! had a real play with a scooby tonight and she was with it all the way until...................she passed it!!!! lol Deffo got her mojo back, and Mr scooby looked impressed methinks! Have to say though, why the fcuk do people think that its cool for your car to backfire?? He went up our high street popping and banging, and the only thought that came to my mind was "what a tit!"They seem to think if it backfires, it means its fast as fcuk and tuned to the max. Bollocks! It means its overfuelling and the exhaust bore is too big!! Could be thats why Roxy passed it? He was deffo giving it beans! Maybe just me, as I'm just not a fan of the backfiring car scene. I hear a car backfire and I think "yeah, that sounds fcuked!" lol1 point

I'm led to believe that filler primer has a bit more substance to it, so it fills tiny pin hole imperfections better than a normal primer so I usually use a mixture of primers! More progress!1 point

lol no wonder I miss Ruby! well, the news is good. Finally got her back on Monday, and she is driving a hella lot better! The gear changes are now sweet, no more crunching! The kangaroo effect however is still present, but massively reduced. It's almost gone, just does it ever so slightly so guess I can live with that. When Jim and me went to pick her up, on the way back I was going up the slip road onto the main A1, and sitting in third. Spotted a gap in the traffic so floored it to pull out, and she spun the wheels up! After driving her for a bit, noticed she feels a lot quicker! Thinking she may have lost a wee bit power because of the coil pack/plugs, and has now got it back? Deffo feels a bit punchier to drive now. Jim drover her too and said the same, feels a lot better to drive. We went through this wee village, and theres a round about at the end of it. Came through at 30mph, then onto the roundabout (Jim driving) and went round in 6th gear 17mph!, And coming off the roundabout, still in 6th, still 17mph, she pulled away with no shudders, no bother at all! Really impressed she could do that, as most diesels would struggle to even do that! Not that I would drive her like that a lot, but is good for overtaking point of view........no need to change down. Just push the throttle down and away she goes. And hats off to Western Honda.................they even gave her a full valet in and out, all hoovered out and tyres dressed etc, so she looked amazing. So, thoughts about getting rid of her are now gone! Fingers crossed thats the last of her faults and she goes on trouble free now. And DD.....................all washed, dried and back in the garage in her blanket now! She's deffo not seeing the salty roads again!1 point

well got all the rest of the gooey stuff off apart from those black rubber bits, you can see where the paint has faded, rear bit needs sanded down the surface rust and a lick of paint. its now ready for a spoiler, payday on Saturday so I cant wait!1 point

Bumper is about 10 mins work but wing I'm going to leave as there are no sharp edges. When it rusts, if I haven't blown it up I'll just get a replacement and do the jdm thing with the manga comics lacquered on instead of worrying about finding the right colour or going to the expense of painting it.1 point

Thanks mate! Yeah, see thats the problem. Even with it's faults, I love the style of the car and the performance. And the safety! There is nothing else out there that I actually would want to sell her to get. Nothing has the stunning interior, they all look bland in comparison. Same goes for the exterior, there's nothing newish that looks anywhere as good as the FN2. And have to agree, Clarksons review is totally bullshit. I've found the handling is really sharp, and the power is more than enough. Mine is totally standard mechanical wise, standard air box/filter etc. Have thought about changing the ECU to Hondata as have heard really good reviews about it. But in honesty think it's bad that the FN2's need a new ECU just to make them drive better, Honda should have made them properly from the start. I think a lot has to do with them trying to get the cars to meet the tougher emmissions requirements for the EU, so they may have rushed the development of them a bit leaving the cars with "issues". But for the money, they are deffo better looking than most of the rivals out there. They still look new even after all this time, and look better than the current 9th gen Civic, which seems to have lost the cutting edge look of the FN's FK's etc.1 point
