  1. Well, as you all know I couldn't live without Ruby, and regretted the sale since day one. So, I bought her back. Took a bit of persuading, but her current owner gave in in the end. So sitting behind the wheel, it felt like coming home! Was so nice to be back in her, and could picture dawn sitting there with a big grin when I hit Vtec. Thats where the first problem raised it's head! Under acceleration, it pulled hard to the left. Back off the loud pedal, it went back to the right. Was like WTF????? so got her home, and started checking the front suspension. Turns out the n/s/f tyre had been changed, and the one fitted was barely legal, with a small cut in the side wall too. I changed the wheel, and instantly, the pulling was gone. I asked him about this (her other owner) and he said that one of the goodyears I had fitted just before the sale had developed a bulge? So he'd got that fitted instead. Bit strange to say the least, but hey ho, on we go. I took her out for a spin, and noticed that on bumpy roads (cobbles etc) she sounds like every single bit of trim is hanging off in the boot. Really sounds shocking, like you're sitting in biscuit tin with some plastic bits rattling around. So that needs looking into. Was always nice and quiet before, even on the bumpiest roads. So had a look at rear suspension, as Mike told me he'd fitted new stuff (MGZS arb and Changed the shocks/springs) so wanted to see how it had been fitted. Spotted the MGZS arb, but wrapped with black insulation tape! Looks bloody awful! So need to take that off and get it properly powder coated before refitting. Then I noticed, the suspension is all the same as before????? Standard Ruby suspension. Bit miffed, as he said " you'll notice a big difference in the handling now!" Yeah, on first drive it pulled all over the place on an illegal tyre, then find out all thats been done is the arb??? I wouldnt have even trusted it in a straight line, let alone canning it into bends! So going to get the whole suspension off her, as I don't trust it. Not sure what's been done and what hasn't. Also noticed on the wee drive over to Pauls last night, the new stereo, which was switched off, kept coming on then going off again! This was going to be one of my first jobs, changing this! It's some wierd dvd player type thing, with no manufacturers name anywhere on it! Looks cheap as hell, and is also annoying to operate. He told me the Alpine head unit kept cutting out, again can't say owt because maybe it did with him. Just know it worked perfect for me even on the day I sold her. And it was a quality bit of kit too, so wish he'd just left it in there. So, today I go to remove the dvd unit, as I'm worried it could cause a fire. Pulls it out, and oh yes, my pet hate! Rubys radio harness has been butchered to fuck! I hate when fucking retards do this! Why do it??? she had the honda to iso connector harness fitted, all they had to do was fit the radio! One side of the original harness has had the plug completely cut off, and is wired all to feck. the other one, which has the most wires on it, has had a few wires cut and bodged onto the other side. End result, no power to the Pioneer unit I'm fitting back in! Looking at the wiring, I have no idea what the hells been done, or why. No wonder the dvd unit was going on and off itself! So been in touch with 1000rpm in the forum to see if he can get a new harness up to me. So fucking annoyed to find this! If people don't know how to do jobs on a car, leave it the fuck alone and get someone who does. Not a happy bunny! Knew I should never have sold her in the first place! She deffo aint been getting looked after! Kinda guessed that by the posts between her owner and his mates, always arguing the toss over who was the fastest. So plans are, Stage 1: get her wiring sorted, get a set of Meister R suspension on her and replace all bushes, replace two front tyres with new GoodYears, get wheels changed back to white and sort out the rattles etc coming from the rear (well, pretty much all over the interior! lol). Stage 2: Get the VTiS sideskirts I still have, plus her rear lip and front lip, all resprayed and refitted. Also going to change the front grill (has been sprayed black, not a bad job done but not to my taste tbh) Oh, and that unkown dvd player. Fecked it straight in the wheely bin!
  2. lol Persistance pays dividends! Lol I did keep on at him, day in day out!!
  3. Cheers mate! Yeah, she would have kicked my aRse if she could when I sold Ruby. I is a mega happy chappy to have her back..............driveway looks like "The House of Honda" again!
  4. Oh, and keeping Lexy, as she is sooo nice to drive and has also just had a few other wee mods done! lol she'll be my everyday car, with the 2 M's being the meet/weekend toys. Actually do love Lexy, as she looks stunning, so alls good!
  5. Can you tell what it is yet?.. Another wee clue (this is too easy! lol) and another...... Yup indeed...................................................... I bought another M!!! Another MB6!! lol Same colour as Ruby..... Could this be Ruby 2? Nope, cos this is Ruby too! She's back!! I couldn't go on without her, and regretted her sale from the very minute she left the drive! I even thought about buying one which was local to me, and was Ruby's twin (almost), but it wouldn't have been the same. It was all the memories that are locked up in Ruby, of Dawn, Jim and I all travelling down south to buy her (in Dawns deck!), to all the meets shes been too, to all the great times me and Dawn had in her, going everywhere. Dawn loved her as much as me, and Ruby is the only car Dawn has ever let me drive fast in! In fact, she used to encourage it! lmao So this has been constantly praying on my mind, and I've been so down about selling her, I kept dropping wee subtle hints to Mike (like when you gonna sell her back to me!) and eventually he gave in. Picked her up yesterday, and Paul (bladerider came with me, and drove lexy back home. He said from the minute I started driving her, every time he looked in the mirror, I was sitting there on the motorwat with the biggest smile he's seen on my face in a long long time. And it's wierd, the minute I sat behind the wheel and fired her up, it was like coming home. Can even look at the passenger seat, and see Dawn sitting there, big huge grin and looking in the passenger door mirror at what ever we just blew away! Just feels like shes there with me when I'm in Ruby. That's the thing about Lexy, and why there hasnt been the same bond (sounds stupid i know, as its "just" a car). Even though Lexy is a present from Dawn to me, the fact she's never been in it means it's kinda soul less to me. So whats the plans? Well, first off I have made a cast iron decission. Ruby will never ever be foe sale again. Same goes for Dawns deck. When I get the double garage built, they'll both be sharing their nice new crib! You already know my plans for Dawns deck, which include getting all suspension parts etc either powder coated or painted, basically turning her into a show car. I'm now gonna do the same with Ruby. Hopefully, I'll be turning the two of them into show cars, and try and make them as mint as possible. First plans for Ruby are Replace the two front tyres asap, change the bonnet grill (currently painted completely black, and I don't like it!) Change the stereo, as she's now lost the Alpine one and has an unknown make of DVD player/cd/radio, which although has a brilliant sound, I just don't like it. She's had her back arches repaired, so theyre fine for now. Her wheels are currently silver (same speedlines as before, just been painted) so if I keep the 15's they'll be going back to white, or if I get 16" speedlines, I'll do those silver. Or I might even got for a set of 16" Cades, same as Dawns. She's now got the MGZS rear arb, so thats a mod done that I was going to do anyways. The VTiS sideskirts I still have are going into a body shop, along with her VTiS front and real lips, to be resprayed, as theyre looking a bit shabby. I'll go resurrect her project thread when I get time, and put the full SP of whats going to be happening to her. Got lots and lots of plans!!! So so happy to have her back, and to see her and Dawns deck parked up next to each other again is making me so happy. I know a lot of people will thnk I'm mad, but it's somthing I had to do to correct something that I shouldn't have done!
  6. She sure is mate! Another wee update: Was in at Honda today, and decided to get the part Dawn had always been on about getting for her deck. When she bought it, the only marked panel on the whole car was the front bumper, which had a few scuffs on the drivers side. It was on the painted bit, and also the bump strips. I'll take a close up pic to show the damaged area. So thought, right, time to get you a bit minter lady! Priced it up, and with fitting came in at a sniff under £340. Managed to get my usual wee discount, which brought it down to £315 all in. So as I went to pay for it, says to my parts guy, oh, btw, here's this thing from Honda Uk...........he was like eh? Gave him the £300 credit note that they gave me as compo for the hassle with Lexy! His face dropped a bit! lol So all in it's costing me...................£15! Result! Booked in Monday morning 8am, so will be fitted in time for her 2nd wee meet, down at Keilder forest. Will get pics sorted out asap
  7. love this! one of the best itr's is the 4 door, and this ones my favourite! stunning mate
  8. Latest update...... took Dawns deck up to RJM Performance for it's MOT............................................................And she passed with flying colours! Was good to see Roy and Clive and the guys at RJM, but did feel rather sad to be there without Dawn, only her car. Think They both miss the banter they used to get with her too, as she loved going there. So, to brighten my day a little while the car was in getting done, Roy offered to take me out in the truck on a break down! lol Was good to get a wee run around the countryside, but don't ask me where we went to pick up the car as I was lost the minute we left the industrial estate! Had a really good chat with Roy, and Clive was on the coffee duties when we got back so alls good. They were showing me the latest equipment theyve invested in, the four wheel alignement machine that uses cameras and laser to get it all bang on. Top bit of kit, so gonna get Dawns deck booked in for a proper wheel alignement when it's in for it's service. So happy she passed, as I'm sure Dawn will be too. Nice to know her Decks in such good health!
  9. Well done mate! A worthy winner! And fair play to you too Paul! and as for.......MB6vtis, who only joined in Feb 2013.... Not that I'm saying owt, but 2 days later......... Nuff said!

  11. Sweet deck mate. Think I would have stuck with 8j for the rear too, just my preference though. Love how the steering wheel/seat etc all tie in with the colour of the car. One of the best colours that (but maybe I'm biased! lol)
  12. She looks absolutely mint Jake! Stunning mb6 mate, one of the best!
  13. Nice car James, love them in that colour, one of the best imo. Who bought cindy? Wish I'd known she was up for grabs, so regretted selling Ruby (to the point I've even asked her new owner if he'll sell her back to me) Good luck with the new M mate!
  14. sounds good to me! whe you thinking off? Remember, free hotel this time
  15. ell, after 7 weeks, Lexy is finally back from hondas bodyshop. She's looking top dollar so far, but will be checking over the next couple of days. Heres a couple of pics, complete with a few mods I'd got for her!! The new leather gator with white stitching to match the rest of the interior. got the new red mudflaps fitted all round too, each with the type s logo on them. These were a bit expensive for what they are/do, but the quality of them is really high. Even the brackets/plates are all stainless steel, and theres a really good fitting kit with them too Hope you all like.
  16. Massive congrats to you both!! You make a perfect couple
  17. Pics look lush mate! Loving them roads up there, bet trinity loved them too!
  18. Thanks for the pics Dave, not got mine uploaded to PB yet. Was really great to see you and Sarah, and with Paul and Jim there, the meet might have been small but was a hella lot of fun!!!! Good to see c5 monkey enjoying the day too! lol Sure Dawn would have loved the wee outing, and seeing her deck all clayed and polished
  19. Thanks mate. Yeah, keeping the deck is like keeping part of Dawn, so it really is a nice way of helping to cope with things. Just hope she approves of the mods! Think she will, cos it's the mods she wanted to do herself. I'll soon know about it if there's something she doesn't like! Driving the deck to the location for the photos made me realize why she loved it so much. It drives like the day it left the factory, so smooth and just spot on. Will get better photos soon, and see about getting the next few mods done.
