  1. That engine's looking sweet matey - gonna look awsome in the bay
  2. I'm seriously considering it like... I'm planning on keeping her a long time and while the box is open it seems like a plan. did you get the full set 1 - 5?
  3. heh heh no worries, I've got me spacers now so happy days
  4. so far it's been 120 for the fd and 120 for the 5th gear set (inc delivery from the us).
  5. this was mine... http://www.civic5.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=1893&p=18340#p18340 trying to find out how to stop my wheels scraping off my arches! and agree james... I was a forum noob, but I'm hooked on c5... it's a cool place with a really good jibe. only thing is... gives me too many ideas....
  6. hmm.. tempting idea. loads cheaper than oem... might have to put it off for another month... did you find a big difference when you fitted yours?
  7. So I finally got around to ordering my new 5th gear set for an Acura Integra LS from a Honda dealer in the states... once that comes it's clutch, flywheel, 4.78 fd and longer 5th gear time!!!! YEY!
  8. cheers they were out of an mb... not sure what but it had manual windows in the rear (which is why i didn't get the rear ones... holes for the winders)
  9. well... yesterday was a productive day.... got up early with the little fella and watched f1 quali, the hauled a55 to the scrappy and got these... and more importantly these: (more revealed below.....) then flew down to durham to the city link depot, and got there litterally 1min before they closed (guy behind the desk was less than impressed) to pick up this: then hit the a1 to head to Oldham to pick up these.... t'was a good day 1"£££$££"!!
  10. i've got a replacement one, and just bought some new clips... just need to get me ar5e into gear and take the bumper off
  11. cheers - I'm pretty chuffed with it like... he's a good bloke like... loads of polishing and waxing..
  12. cool... i was wondering if it'd make any difference or if it was just bling does it make any difference to how dirty the rear screen gets - changing air flow? ss used to have a uk website and when I got it the exchange rate wasn't as pants
  13. tubs is back from the body shop... need to get those dohc stickers on now
  14. I've had a spy on a honda parts website in the US and it's about $130 (for main and countershaft gears) plus about $50 shipping... tempting like... 5th is too low at the minute and will only get worse with the fd.
  15. so been looking into gear ratios a bit more and have found that the Acura Integra LS (special edition) has the longest 5th gear of all B series boxes - 0.714 instead of 0.848 that's in the s9b. Using the gear calculator it means that with the 4.78 final drive and the 5th gear from the ls, the revs would be 3400 at 71mph compared to 3700rpm on the ratios for the s9b box as standard... and the 4100rpm it'd be on the s9b with the 4.78 fd!!! that should mean no more trying to change up when I'm already in 5th... seriously considering it while the box is open.... 1"£££$££"!!
  16. well she's off to the body shop tomorrow to get the spoiler fitted and get rid of some surface rust starting to come through on one of the rear doors. also gonna get a few scratches sorted out and a machine polish... she'll come back all shiny then I'll need to stick the DOHC Vtec stickers on (been going around without the passenger one for months since the scraping / van incident), and have to pull my finger out (and the bumper off) and get the headlight washer fitted that I got months ago.
  17. off the compressor wrong trend i was wondering like... you've got compressors on the brain lad.
  18. it's just a powerflow one from tyre spot. asked em to make it quite discrete.. 1"£££$££"!!
  19. so just trying to get me head around this malarky with the gears... looking at the diagrams of the two countershafts on Lings website, and it looks as though the s9b has the collar built onto the countershaft, whereas the s80 one is a seperate bit. the guy who'll be doing the job's a honda tech, so I'll run it past him before he starts in case he needs to order the bits. wrt the diff, when I was emailing mfactory a few months ago, the guy said that the fitting for the gear onto the diff was the same... fingers crossed.. while they've got the box open they're gonna do a bit of a bearing change generally 1"£££$££"!! the seller emailed today saying he'd just got back off hols and would be sending it out asap... mint
