  1. for what it's worth, i took the driver seatbelt latch off an mg in a scrappy at the weekend to replace mine, and the fittings did look the same (and the bolt holding the latch on was shorter than ours so I didn't have to rtake the seat out like I did on mine!!!)
  2. nah... waiting till I get a new clutch still (it's felt like it's been just about to go for about 40k miles!!!) the teg one was 7.5kg... not sure about mb tho.
  3. some spacers I got off s88hon to lift my nose up a bit (and stop the grinding on the wheel arch).. they're about 20mm.. sit between the shock and spring... should let md soften the shocks a bit and let me have a more comfy ride
  4. well, picked it up yesterday and it looks mint! I've had a damn good look and I can't even see where the hole was. the lad painted up the new door to make sure that you cant see the difference with fresh paint on the panel. the new front door doesn't whiste like the old one did either, so happy days! now i just need to get to the bottom of the oil leak (head gasket?....? ), get those spacers fitted finally, fit the ring illuminators, and get the aux input on my head unit fixed and that's it for now... oh, and maybe a new O2 sensor. and when it warms up me little subwoofer plan... glass fiber custom job.
  5. dave, have you had a chance to try out the winter tyres yet? must admit i was looking into them, but wanted to get some skinny steel wheels to stick em on. how much did they set you back and did you go for all 4?
  6. well that's the new,(ish) petrol tank fitted (finally) now I can stop driving around off me napper on petrol fumes booked in to the bodyshop on wednesday for some first aid after me scrape the other week and will hopefully get me doors on before then. it's all go this week I tells ya. 1"£££$££"!!
  7. hopefully get a boot spoiler, and might get the skirts painted in pirates at the same time.. fit the ring fog lights sat in the house when things warm up a bit, plan to get an s80 box if one comes up for a good price (but there's a baby broon on the way, so the box might have to wait). also will get the dc2 flywheel fitted (new clutch at same time) finally get around to doing the custom sub install in the boot that I've been planning for about 3yrs finally decided what I'm gonna do... I got a clearance bargain clay bar kit and when the days get longer and warmer gonna give a good clean, clay, colour magic polish and wax... and maybe diamond bright over the top.
  8. happy new year noodles mate yeah, I just tightened that nut up a bit as well but it needs doing properly.. at least it works on hills. it's amazing to have a lightweight nut and a normal one... so much weight diference! I know what you mean - mie hasn't moved much the last couple of months coz of snow and now the petrol tank.. but it's nice when you jump back in and feel the vtec again
  9. well, been busy over the last few weeks but don't seem to have much finished. finally got round to getting some new gas lifts for the boot so I don't have to keep it open with my head anymore was a piece of pish to do as well... if anyone needs to do it, don't be put off coz it's one of the easiest things I've done (after putting the resevoir socks on ) also still on with making my buttons and dash lights red... still waiting to get the last 2 to finish the job - happy with how it's coming along though.. will post some pics when it's done. aaaand, waiting for a replacement cable to hook my bluetooth car kit up to the cd changer connection on my head unit, so driving around with no radio in coz I'm bloody sick of taking it out and putting it back in. In fact I've just about had enough of dismantling the dash & centre console! the jobs a right beeatch coz of the multi lock for the gearstick. still, had some more dashboard fun today fitting karens new radio into her civic... and I don't even want to talk about the petrol tank... at least I tightened my handbrake when the conols was out
  10. I'm pretty happy with them like.. reasonably light too. best bit the colour hides dirt pretty well
  11. might be worthwhile leaving any damper adjustment until you've got the arb fitted though 1"£££$££"!!
  12. cheers bud - I wish the paintwork was as good as it looks in the pics... when it needs a polish you can see all the small scratches and swirls. still, got a good deal on some clay bar, so will give it some love when the sun comes back
  13. hi bepilot. agree with parksie.. the rear end follows much better, but you can feel it most at the front... feels nice and pointy when turning in. I do quite often have the back loaded up when camping, but not since fitting the arb, so can't say if it tends to oversteer when giving it some beans, but when it's empty it's just much more settled. wonder if it was something they thought would be a way to keep the weight close to the mb? yeah, the holes are in the chassis already, just need 10 years of crud cleaning out
  14. just had a wheel off so thought I'd weigh it - 16.7kg (including new light nuts) still heavier than the standards, but not as bad as I thought.
  15. FINALLY got round to getting that goddamn arb fitted - thing's been burning a hole in my shed for months.. .. and what a difference it makes! even just driving miss daisy speeds you csn feel the front end feels so much more direct. I wasn't expecting such a difference. also, picked up my spoon resevoir covers from the post office today. AND one last visit to that rover 45. needed a bulb holder for the light wash button to finish the red effect switches, so that's done - still waiting for more red leds for the controls and dash. also finally booked in to get my spacers fitted to lift my nose up a bit, so wanted to get a new arch liner to replace the shredded one on the passenger side, but the one on the 45 seemed different. anyway, noticed that there was soundproofing for the driver side too (your mate was right scott) so had that too. a good day all in all 1"£££$££"!!
  16. right.. engine bay. this morning: then, one steam clean (and some kind of chemical treatment) later: this cleaned loads of crud off various places... gearbox and intake mani seem to have came up the best, but it left a load of residue all over the place... so some scrubbing and cleaning later... .. and a couple of hours under the bonnet with my old friends autosol, silicon spray and sponge scourers: pretty pleased with the results.. especially sprucing up the hoses with silicon spray (onto a rag and the wiped on)... saved getting some new ones - have to see how long it lasts. 1"£££$££"!!
