  1. cheers bud - I wish the paintwork was as good as it looks in the pics... when it needs a polish you can see all the small scratches and swirls. still, got a good deal on some clay bar, so will give it some love when the sun comes back
  2. hi bepilot. agree with parksie.. the rear end follows much better, but you can feel it most at the front... feels nice and pointy when turning in. I do quite often have the back loaded up when camping, but not since fitting the arb, so can't say if it tends to oversteer when giving it some beans, but when it's empty it's just much more settled. wonder if it was something they thought would be a way to keep the weight close to the mb? yeah, the holes are in the chassis already, just need 10 years of crud cleaning out
  3. just had a wheel off so thought I'd weigh it - 16.7kg (including new light nuts) still heavier than the standards, but not as bad as I thought.
  4. FINALLY got round to getting that goddamn arb fitted - thing's been burning a hole in my shed for months.. .. and what a difference it makes! even just driving miss daisy speeds you csn feel the front end feels so much more direct. I wasn't expecting such a difference. also, picked up my spoon resevoir covers from the post office today. AND one last visit to that rover 45. needed a bulb holder for the light wash button to finish the red effect switches, so that's done - still waiting for more red leds for the controls and dash. also finally booked in to get my spacers fitted to lift my nose up a bit, so wanted to get a new arch liner to replace the shredded one on the passenger side, but the one on the 45 seemed different. anyway, noticed that there was soundproofing for the driver side too (your mate was right scott) so had that too. a good day all in all 1"£££$££"!!
  5. right.. engine bay. this morning: then, one steam clean (and some kind of chemical treatment) later: this cleaned loads of crud off various places... gearbox and intake mani seem to have came up the best, but it left a load of residue all over the place... so some scrubbing and cleaning later... .. and a couple of hours under the bonnet with my old friends autosol, silicon spray and sponge scourers: pretty pleased with the results.. especially sprucing up the hoses with silicon spray (onto a rag and the wiped on)... saved getting some new ones - have to see how long it lasts. 1"£££$££"!!

  7. hi stu, dunno if you've seen it but the meet on the 21st is a loop from scotch corner - alston and over hartside pass if you're up for it... where in durham are you? I'm at stanley. sorry for the highjack dave
  8. al looking sweet dave.. looing forward to seeing the carbon at the meet
  9. could be other soundproofing on the rovers I suppose.... after all, they are an executive brand no idea why that particular bit isn't on the civics though... seems odd.
  10. heh heh.. aye, it's just a bit of cardy-carpety stuff that just sits under the glove box in the passenger foot well... tbh doesn't make much difference apart from the fan's a bit quieter
  11. been scavenging again... that rover 45 at the local scrappy is coming in well handy got sick of the freaky noise the wiper motor was making, so whipped the rover one out. luckilly i cut the cables north of the connector coz once again that's the only difference. so after some splicing and soldering my wipers are groovy and won't die on me through the winter. also cleaned all of the gunk out from under the plastic tray to hopefully stop the windscreen leaking. I'm sure it's less restrictive than the old one... seems to pull much better when going from intermittent to half speed... I think it's lost a bit top end though
  12. all same fittments... not sure about the diffs in sizes... very subtle differences in looks tbh. could end up going for the heat shield.. not a bad plan
  13. haha love the way that post autosensored to say my small bottom.... that's class. or should I say cl...small bottom
  14. nope... I must have been talking out my ass I've just checked and compared to the pics of the teg one, and the ports look the same the main difference I can see is the angle that the pipes come together. I'm loving the difference in feel though... no idea why the other one ever made it anywhere near the car! for such a subtle difference in part to make such a difference is amazing.
  15. I'll take a pic of the one that came off, but I'm going off memory of what the new one was like though I did spend a lot of time with it in my lap with the autosol well impressed with the difference.... went for a good drive up toi see my mam yesterday, good mix of motorway, fast a roads and b roads... runs much smoother, loads more pull low down in the revs and you can notice the vtec and butterfly valve kick more. happy boy
  16. cheers james... I'd be intersted in sticking the old girl on a dyno actually... see what she is doing
