  1. aye it's not measure twice cut once... it's measure 10 times... nearly cut... then check again.... was working with me step dad for the welding.. and he's the same... both of us kept saying... "are you sure it looks straight... what's the marks like on your side..." felt great when it all lines up and bolts fit in though
  2. nah... it's secret I'm gonna take some photies when I'm next at the car in the light!! bloody dark nights / mornings....
  3. so some pics from the seat install. Drilling the brackets off the old rails... Positioning the brackets onto the steel plates (rails on the recaros are closer together than on the original seats) One of the brackets with the plate welded to it, and bolted back into position on the car.. repeat 16 times and measure /position the new rails on the plates and some more welding and bob's your uncle / fanny's your aunt 2 new seats! awsome difference - much more comfortable
  4. changed the passenger side one while the royal wedding was on Reading up about the roll centre adjusters seems like they can cause wheel clearance issues...? got enough of those already 1"£££$££"!!
  5. x2... must be well happy with that bud? 1"£££$££"!!
  6. So finally finished getting the CTR recaros in on Saturday (piccies to follow) after getting the driver side one in the saturday before. Need to get ol' tubbs in for some bits and bobs - driver side ball joint is going the way of the passenger side (creeeak) and get some new Honda front disks (coz the ones that are in have laster 145k) and green stuff pads, and get my ABS sensor whacked in at the same time. then it's the gearbox biz on the radar...
  7. That engine's looking sweet matey - gonna look awsome in the bay
  8. I'm seriously considering it like... I'm planning on keeping her a long time and while the box is open it seems like a plan. did you get the full set 1 - 5?
  9. heh heh no worries, I've got me spacers now so happy days
  10. so far it's been 120 for the fd and 120 for the 5th gear set (inc delivery from the us).
  11. this was mine... http://www.civic5.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=1893&p=18340#p18340 trying to find out how to stop my wheels scraping off my arches! and agree james... I was a forum noob, but I'm hooked on c5... it's a cool place with a really good jibe. only thing is... gives me too many ideas....
  12. hmm.. tempting idea. loads cheaper than oem... might have to put it off for another month... did you find a big difference when you fitted yours?
  13. So I finally got around to ordering my new 5th gear set for an Acura Integra LS from a Honda dealer in the states... once that comes it's clutch, flywheel, 4.78 fd and longer 5th gear time!!!! YEY!
  14. cheers they were out of an mb... not sure what but it had manual windows in the rear (which is why i didn't get the rear ones... holes for the winders)
  15. well... yesterday was a productive day.... got up early with the little fella and watched f1 quali, the hauled a55 to the scrappy and got these... and more importantly these: (more revealed below.....) then flew down to durham to the city link depot, and got there litterally 1min before they closed (guy behind the desk was less than impressed) to pick up this: then hit the a1 to head to Oldham to pick up these.... t'was a good day 1"£££$££"!!
  16. i've got a replacement one, and just bought some new clips... just need to get me ar5e into gear and take the bumper off
  17. cheers - I'm pretty chuffed with it like... he's a good bloke like... loads of polishing and waxing..
  18. cool... i was wondering if it'd make any difference or if it was just bling does it make any difference to how dirty the rear screen gets - changing air flow? ss used to have a uk website and when I got it the exchange rate wasn't as pants
  19. tubs is back from the body shop... need to get those dohc stickers on now
  20. I've had a spy on a honda parts website in the US and it's about $130 (for main and countershaft gears) plus about $50 shipping... tempting like... 5th is too low at the minute and will only get worse with the fd.
  21. so been looking into gear ratios a bit more and have found that the Acura Integra LS (special edition) has the longest 5th gear of all B series boxes - 0.714 instead of 0.848 that's in the s9b. Using the gear calculator it means that with the 4.78 final drive and the 5th gear from the ls, the revs would be 3400 at 71mph compared to 3700rpm on the ratios for the s9b box as standard... and the 4100rpm it'd be on the s9b with the 4.78 fd!!! that should mean no more trying to change up when I'm already in 5th... seriously considering it while the box is open.... 1"£££$££"!!
