Nothing wrong with tidying it up and making it look better! Just stay away from turbo conversions and you'll be fine
-
I'm just glad I won't be without it, will see what's what tomorrow and go from there! Thermostat should be changed anyway and I'm going to take my MG ARB to hopefully fit while I'm there, might as well while I'm checking her over

I bet that left them both a bit sore!

Yeah! Bleeding done right just takes time rather than being a pig of a job! Stat is 3 bolts, swap the unit then reverse
-
Any weight reduction is immediately ruined when I get my fat a55 into the car!
-
Yeah I'm going to ask for a major service as the minimum, will also give a chance to check out the rear end, think I'll take the MG ARB with me
-
Awkward gits we are! What about the original front lip and the VTi-S skirts and rear lip colour coded? Least boss Daves is already colour coded so you can see for reference!
-
Bloody hell, that's wife material right there dude!

My brother has just called, he nipped to the house on his lunch and has managed to fish out the pulley, says the bolt is missing and so is the belt, it's for the aircon as I thought but at least it's okay to drive! Going to take it to his gaff tomorrow after work, get her on a ramp and just have a good once over and see what needs doing, he's going to get a new belt and thermostat as well.

That's nice, buy it! Go.....now.....buy it! -
Yep! I can't stand folk who bolt these mods on, say it runs x amount of power and they haven't made it mapped nor even RR'd to find out! Assumptions are the worst mistake people can make!

Those arches with the wheels nearly had me mistaking this for a yank tank! -
I'll check out the video on my phone but wow! I would say the map will play a massive part in what's happening there! Everytime you change something performance wise you'd benefit from a re-map, though that would get expensive quickly if you were sticking parts on every other month Got a mate with a 200sx S14a, has the standard breather mods, turbo back exhaust, air intake etc etc claimed "it should be running about 300bhp", boy was he disappointed when the RR said 230bhp! I asked if he'd had it mapped and he said no, so I said you should get it mapped, then it can make use of the mods, but instead he reckons plugs and leads will sort it...guy at the RR said the same as me too! Why people don't listen is beyond me

Wasn't great, but you're right about that, clever little car but couldn't do much else!
-
Indeed! To be honest though, in south wales, out where it gets properly dark (miles from urban lighting), with trees covering overhead, even the 59 plate Jazz with full beam and fogs didn't do a brilliant job!
-
Yeah funny you should say that! No warranty, but even if it did, getting the car up there would probably cost more in time and effort than just dealing with it, 80 miles each way once all is said and done! Will just deal with it, get the rest checked over and any other issues dealt with. I'm sure there's a half decent car in there somewhere! A motor factors local to me do the thermostat for about £12 so going to drop by on my way home, another one for the credit card! Be glad when a few pay days come round!

My brother's garage has just had a new 2 poster, about £1200 fitted apparently!
-
Got any pictures to show how bad it is? Least you've managed to get one sorted for now though!
-
Sounds like a good plan if you know how you want to go about it! White would be good but a bugger to keep it clean!
-
Could buy the second hand box and get it apart for the long 5th gear and put new syncros in while its apart? Leaving you still able to drive about until your ready to swap boxes then you could rebuild the poorly one and sell it working to make some money back?
-
Nothing better than the bellow of a V6 with a stanless system on full chat!
-
Yeah you've hit the nail on the head there dude! I'm very picky with noises etc, I usually pick up on pretty much anything that isn't quite right etc so my OCD has been working overtime! I think it's for the belt that drives the aircon, still have the power steering and alternator. Sent the photo to my brother this morning asking how his fishing skills are It was a trader yes mate but just a bloke with a unit rather than a forecourt! Now that I've slept and had time to cool off I can just go about getting it sorted without biting peoples heads off! But yeah belts do look a bit worse for wear don't they?! Took my dads Merc S class to work today, bloody auto doesn't sit in the gear I want it to around town, annoying!

Krzys replied to Mr Brown's topic in Honda Civic MA/MB/MC
Yeah for the few quid they are just not worth messing about!
