  4. Alright guys, Just after some suggestions for insurers. Got my renewal through recently and it is laughably high. Last year to insure a 1.7 55 plate Astra cost me £840, in June I had a not-at fault accident (someone hit me). Midway through the year I acquired an MB3 and have done slight mods (Meisters and Alloys) and my insurance renewal is now £1950. Doing quotes I am getting around £1000 - £1500 for Third Party F & T. I've rang Adrian Flux, best they could do was £950 Third Party F & T and I am awaiting a response from Sky Insurance. Has anyone got any more suggestions for companies good with mods / know a little bit about cars? Cheers guys, Dave
  5. Right folks, lets see what cars you think should win this month's cotm.
  6. Hi everyone whats your options on angle eye/halo lights?, here what i made this evening from spare parts
  7. I have recently installed a Toad alarm to my Mb6, I found a lot of conflicting info on the central locking activation for an aftermarket unit. It is difficult to interpret and manipulate the locking signals due to switches in the locks themselves providing feedback signals. To clear this up and keep all the door locks working as they should, also retaining the use of the original fob, the simplest way is to find the central locking module located behind the heating controls (centre console), open up the unit and attach the negative trigger system directly to the pins on the dual relay as shown. these pins will activate the door lock/un-lock when grounded. Hope this helps.
  8. Hi guys, so after selling my 300zx and a brief spell with a lovely gold Volvo s40 1.8 I sold that as well and thought about getting a winter car, why not one with a v8? so here my 2000 grand Cherokee that I got for a steal! it needed a new engine sump which ive done and replaced oil and filter, and a new radiator which ive also done now she's running sweet, also came with roof bars so ive fitted my bike rack to it. its the comfiest car ive ever driven, it is my only car right now and its automatic but luckily my job allows me to drive manual cars everyday so I don't lose my touch haha in the spring this will get stored away for summer and ill be getting something else. (probably something that goes around corners faster than this) and yes its very thirsty before you ask lol let me know what you guys think!
  9. Said I'd start a thread to document bits I'm doing to the aerodeck. Anyways picked up my titan silver 2001/y reg mc1 aerodeck has the 1.6 single cam vtec d16w4. Always wanted an aerodeck seen one when I was about 12-13 and I was in love. As they were never sold in Ireland they are fairly rare over here I've seen less than 10 in my lifetime. Anyways here's some pics and spec D16w4 bog standard except whale p***s and decat 8j bbs rs reps Suspension was running tein superstreets from an eg but when back to the oem setup as was to low and just unfunctional K sport rear camber arms Limo tints and front visor 8000k hid kit. Full vti half leathers Ek9 steering wheel Team heko wind deflectors Full sound system new speakers and door tweeters Just picked up a full vtis lip kit and mid Spoiler Wich should have fitted soon
  10. this could probably be the dumbest question I have ever asked but does ek eg mb/mc suspension brake parts fit ej chassis ?

  12. So the past weekend we attended our first National Auto-Solo event. The 2017 Tire Rack College Station Championship Tour, and it was certainly an experience. https://www.scca.com/articles/2005718-2017-tire-rack-college-station-championship-tour-event-recap Our team went into the competition feeling pretty confident, until we went to the grid and check out the competition's cars. The top runners are using the Honda S2000 Club Racer edition, that is a limited run of 699 cars designed with aero package and soft top removed to reduce weight. Only the CR are allow to run without the soft top, as the class rules state what came on the car in factory trim must stay; and looking at their engine bay you can see how well their cars were prepared. Most are using the PasswordJDM carbon fibre intake, and a few cars was running Moton Clubsport 2-way adjustable coilovers; that is only what you can see. In contrasts, we have a pretty standard 2007 Honda S2000 with 90,000 miles on the clock. The only mods were a K&N intake, Invidia exhaust, Eibach front anti-roll bar, and MeisterR ZetaCRD coilovers in our prototype race specification. Even our ECU was standard and unmapped... so you can imagine how our confidence drop "slightly " after seeing what we were up against. Most were using the same tyres, the new BFGoodridge Rival S... so that mean we were on even ground at least on that part. But never mind, this is our 1st national event so it was just to see where we sit outside of the Houston region. The STR Class we are competing in have a total of 17 drivers, many are experienced veteran at national event. Our driver is 21 years old Landon Thompson (who is getting a lot of stick up and down the grid because of his age), but it was all good fun. Overall, the competition was great and environment was friendly; but you know it is a competition and people are serious and there to win when you speak with a few. So at the end of the two day race, we end up just edging out for a 3rd place trophy finish out of 17 drivers. Considering how under prepared our car was and it’s our first national attempt, we were all very happy about the result. So that is it from MeisterR's team and our first national event, we came home with a blue cap (trophy winner) and a big meal at the end of the day. We will continue to improve the car to bring it to a more competitive trim, and can only hope or better result in the next event. It was a great weekend, just want to share our excitement and our result. Jerrick

Just watched the first two episodes last night...........what a crock of crap! Studio/tent conversation is so autocue/scripted and the celebrity brain crash is so predictable. Hardly naff all about cars and found it really boring. Whats your views?
