1. right, not done any more mods but did have Ruby in for the first MOT that I've put her through since I bought her. I've been dreading this, as the 1st mot usually shows up all the bits you missed or were starting to wear out when the cars was bought. So, she goes in at 8:30am. gets the call at 10am from the garage.......................shes failed! NOT! mechanic says she sailed through, absolutely perfect, not a thing wrong with her!!!!!!!!!! I is one very happy bunny, and Ruby is starting to live up to Betty's High standards! Love it!!!!!
2. yea, mine could have got away with a slight increase in noise, but i can live with it for now lol
3. looking good mate! where did you get the blue leads and earth strap, as dawns after them for her deck
4. Haha! I'll be keeping an eye on you Mr Jalesi! pmsl. Thanks chaps, yeah, the tail is only slightly larger than standard, so good for keeping an oem look. Its bedded/settled in nicely now, loving it to bits! Car is deff more responsive now, and sounds subtly wicked when its going quickly Best bit is though driving it normally/gently, its as quiet as a standard exhaust, so best of all worlds!
5. Wee update! Went to Powerflow (RJM Performance) today and showed them the exhaust. They did the measure up, and came back with the news it could be modded to fit no problem. They fitted a new flange after cutting the old one off (it was busted) and got it all fitted up in about an hour and a half. Quality of fitting is amazing, Exhaust looks like its been on the car since it came out the factory, so hats off to RJM! 6. Well, just bought Ruby a present! As the exhaust was blowing, decided to give her a treat with a cat back Stainless Powerflow exhaust (thanks to Ash again for this!) It was off an aerodeck, so back box requires very slight modding to fit. She's booked in to Powerflow tomorrow for them to have a look and see whats needed, then it will be on with the exhaust. Soent hours yesterday cleaning the exhaust up, and its came up a treat! Pics will be up soon
7. Rota Grids I think. That looks awsome mate, lowered nicely and as said the rims look top banana on it! Super clean!
8. Nice VTiS mate, looks sweet
9. Always loved the slipstreams mate, was gonna get them for the blue MA8 i had. That styles been around a while now and still looks superb.
10. Thats a cracking looking deck you've got mate! Did you get the sunroof wind deflector from honda? Didnt know they were still available. Dawn got one from honda fitted to her deck, and they do make a big difference to the wind noise etc. I take it its got the wee vent thing on it? Those rims should look good on it, look like jspl's? I'd be tempted to get the lips polished on them to lift them a bit like, but depends on the style you want. Lowered and it'll look the danglies
11. I bet it's JDM style tail lights! She's looking good Dave, and the photos are sweet. See, your getting all arty farty with the new cam! lol it's adictive!
12. Ok, not done any more mods to Ruby lately, but glad to say she's back on the road! She's been laid up for around a month and a half with a knackered rear wheel bearing. Got a brand new one from Gav vti_vroom (cheers mate! ) and with a hand from Paul Bladerider929 we got it fitted. Whole job was a doddle, and we were surprised how easy all the bolts freed off! Even the small screws on the brake disc were easy to undo We also fitted a air con belt tensioner pulley (thanks to ash-dseries for this bit!), as mine fell off not long after I bought her (garage that did the service on her has a lot to answer for ) Fitting this was a blooming pig of a job! In the end we had to take off the power steering pump to get enough access to fit the pulley and belt. Got there in the end though! Unfortunately, because I havent used the aircon for around 7 or 8 months, when we turned it on, the fan on the aircon radiator seized up and bloody sheared off!!!! Was Dawn that spotted this, as we heard a horrible noise, a bit smoke, but had no idea where it came from lol So new fan is on the way, then its fix the blow in the exhaust and that will be her ready for mot at end of July. Must say its brilliant to be able to drive her again! I've been missin her! Will be getting the kits all painted up soon, then lowering methinks will be next
13. Cheers man! Yeah, not a bad job at all! I always worry at mot time, stems from having cortinas and escorts! lmao. worry time for ruby and dawns deck next
14. I was a bit nervous of the mot, thought she would fail as she'd been laid up for almost a year. The rear brakes were locking up as i mentioned on msgr, so though they would fail. Took her for a wee run before the mot, and it freed everything up nicely. Got the call saying she'd failed............2 windscreen wipers and the centre brake light bulb! Was like yaaaas!!! Bught new set of blades, replaced the bulb and now she has her MOT. So happy man! And she's just proved herself agian to be such a credit to us, she'd never ever failed an mot since she was new, and that one was just trivial stuff! The mot guy even commented how good condition she was in, and he was amazed that she was as good as that considering being sat parked up for so long. He also said that the Civic M's were one of the best cars Honda built, as they rarely go wrong! We're calling dentmaster tomorrow, see how much it would cost to fix the dent in the bonnet. If it's not too much, just gonna get it done, as she deserves it! The bonnet looks really good mate, well happy with the finish I got! I'm kinda paying the price though, still bloody smelling the paint fumes even now!
15. Thanks Dave! She's looking good now, really chuffed with the finish on the bonnet. Meant to add she's also wearing her original alloys now. Drove her today to the MOT station, and she's driving perfectly. Sadly, this projects come to an end now as shes for sale now Someones gonna get a cracking MA8
16. Wee update..........she now has her bonnet in blue at long last! 18. Get him told Sarah! Hehehe, not my turn to get picked on lol. C'mon Dave, get to work and stop keeping Sarah waiting!
19. Ok, though i'd better update this! Not got the photos of the exhaust to hand, but will show you what I've been upto the last few days! Decided it was time to make a start on Dawns VTIS kit, so we have one bit completed so far (would have done the whole kit but was doing some other spray work so didnt have time.) Voila! One front vtis lip! It's only trial fitted in the photos, got a whole load of clips to fit to the bumper now! Totally transforms the front of her Deck! Will get some photos of the exhaust next!
20. That looks amazing Dave! Wondered at the time what it would look like when you said you were doing it black, and must say looks awsome. Superb finish on it aswell! Is the laquer a satin/matt finish or gloss? Liking it with the matt/satin look. PS: Dawn says looks brilliant. When you coming up to paint and fit hers as Im taking too long!
