Your rad could be busted! After a long process of elimination, my overheating problems disappeared once i replaced my rad, even though the old one looked to be in fine shape from the outside. Tegiwa sells good looking aftermarket rads for the b18: http://www.tegiwaimports.com/select-car/honda/eg/cooling/tegiwa-aluminium-alloy-radiator-honda-civic-eg-ek-92-00.html

1.8 Aerodeck from Finland (10 years of ownership)
Dexter replied to Dexter's topic in Honda Civic MA/MB/MC
Only winter wheels? ONLY? In case you didn't know my friend, our winter lasts about 6 months so i really don't want to spend half of the year driving around in a tractor!- 883 replies

Well let's see first how they'll fit under the car. Just ordered a set of winter tyres today, Continental Winter Contact 6's in 175/55 so should end up with a nice little stretch .- 883 replies

We've already had freezing temp in the nights so better to slap on winter wheels sooner than later. So why not do some shopping! Here are my options, opinions and advice please: ATS Hammer 7x15 ET30 (old, rare, but in good shape) Japan Racing TF2 7,5x15 ET30 (don't know if will clear front VTi brakes because of lip & curved spokes?) Japan Racing JR12 7,5x15 ET26 (would be best fitment) I'd like to buy the ATS because i like the rareness factor, never seen them on a Honda before. But i'd also like a proper fitment, so the bit wider Japan Racings would be better for that... tough choice!- 883 replies

The volume of coolant will increase in the whole system, but only the coolant flowing through the block cools the engine and that remains the same no matter how huge your rad will be. The only difference should be that you will have a larger reservoir of cooler fluid to start with to cope with overheat. And the thermostat naturally will take care of the temp. So i don't see a problem here?

I have a Tegiwa stock sized rad and i never have overheating issues even when pushed hard, which in my case means up to 9 hard laps on a 3km course driven to the limit. B18C4 with minor mods. But then again if you're going after the looks, why not ! A wide shiny rad in any bay do look nice... and makes it look a lot faster than it actually is! I don't need a rad for that though, my obscenely loud Magnaflow backbox takes care of that...

So gave the engine a proper wash, and since then the throttle has been slightly sticky at times. Usually this happens while driving on 2nd or 3rd between 2000-3000rpm and only when accelerating lightly. Once you press the pedal properly, there's no problem. So not a major problem, but an annoying one. I gave the cable a proper cleaning with break cleaner and rag, then oiled it thoroughly with gun oil and used compressed air to blow the rest of the grime out. I've tried engine oil and gun oil since to lube it, but the problem remains even though it's not as evident anymore. I checked the throttle body and seems to open as normal. Any suggestions? I thought about removing the whole cable from the throttle body and dripping gun oil into the plastic tube surrounding the cable, but didn't manage to remove the it from the throttle body. But the cause of the problem was obviously the engine wash, but any ideas what to try next? It could be something else than the throttle too, it's just what it feels like. Maybe even ignition, or fuel??? Never had symptoms like this before so not sure.

Got mine as well. Thanks for organising this! I'll return the favor and organise a track day if you ever end up in this corner of the world...

Hey what happened to the widebody? Do i remember somebody mentioning a breaker... Oh well it's a duel then! And as far as i'm concerned atleast it's an easy vote for a change.... -
Same problem here. Plan is to go through the whole car before the winter and remove every bit of rust i can find... unfortunately it's started to pop up here and there but luckily in the areas are still very small... at the moment . But yeah just went to look at a deck last week my friend was interested in, and it had the same rust problem with the hinges. A good example of why drying the car after a wash is so important!

A pair of FN2 Recaro's popped up for sale in Estonia today, what do you think? I've always thought i'd get Speeds like on a DC2 but these do look tempting... and i've heard the seats are super comfy, and supportive. Not the actual seats, but like those.- 883 replies
