Distributor / Aftermarket Ignition Control Module (ICM)
KiNK43 replied to Idemann's topic in Electrical
Yeah I'm sure that will sort it. As its usually the culprit. I was just thinking for ease. and obviously all the other components are new in a new dizzy. Im shocked the prices for dizzys. I paid 70 brand new from eBay. Assumed it would be crap and break. But keep me going for a while. 2 yrs + still going strong. -
Ooya bag. Scrubs up well!!!

Beat em too it mate! Was a bit awkward. Do people normally wet it? I didn't bother and was awkward but looks tidy so I'm happy with it. Need to continue Collecting bits now. Cars off the road now in garage.

No experience with the other branded parts you mention. Would it not be easier to replace the dizzy. It doesn't have to be a td86u. I have td44 just cut and soldered the old plug on. Simple. As for ignition timing ten minute job for a mechanic. Cost ya a tenner maybe. -
MB2 TRINITY D. K26. 23/11/14 BRAND NEW MINI MOD ????????
KiNK43 replied to DAVEMB2's topic in Honda Civic MA/MB/MC
s**t the bed Dave. Your going to town. What a car and keeps getting better. Hope we will meet again at another meet one day because i seriously want to see this car for real. -
Yeah the turbo is heavy. And all the down pipes I find have no brackets. So all the weight would be on the welds
-
Bit of wrapping going on. Can just about see had some thick stainless welded to manifold to take strain. the standard support had broken as a bit wimpy.
-
Love the car. Looks great.do t want to worry you but a leak like that was the death of my mb6 it was top of windscreen leaking. I ignored it and the water was running into footwell. Rotted through floor right into inner arch and the inner sill was gone too. I wish id called autoglass and had screen replaced insted of ignoring it.
-
Its an orange plug if that helps. Can't remember off top of head if its in the arch or passes through into engine bay
-
Yes mate it often leaks. Its so hard to trace a leak in that area. First I changed vtec sol gasket. Then blox cam seal. Still a leak by this point. In my case turned out to be the dizzy leaking, finally sorted. I know knight has the same annoying leak in that area.

Personally I find these engines quite sluggish and hesitant until there upto temp. So that combined with the lack of vtec could explain your problem. putting your foot to the floor in a high gear from low revs is a good way to see if clutch slips. Cam plug is easy to change dude but yes you will need a torque wrench that starts low. You don't have to touch timing or the cam itself, just take the plate off that sits across the cam caps. 10 12mm bolts maybe. Then remove the 2 10mm bolts either side of cam seal, pop that end cap off. Change seal. Bit of gasket sealant on The external part of the cap. put it all back in reverse torqueing correctly and workin from center out.

Disgusting mate. Someone put a boot in the rear quarter of my mate's fabia. Well p**sed. But pushed it out best he could then we cut a sticker that says "thanks d**khead" and slapped that around the dent

Paul's MB6 VTi (This Is It! The End Has Come! :( ,,,)
KiNK43 replied to knight's topic in Honda Civic MA/MB/MC
Nice one Paul. They look great. 2 years on mine still shiny, no rust. Good call on The grooves, I got dimples too and they make a annoying noise while braking- 3,767 replies

If there tuned well. Standard internals will take quite a pasting. Depends what your power goal is. Upto 300hp is generally considered quite safe if tuned well. I was talking to nail who works with rich. He was telling me having standard rods shot peened will increase strength drastically and keep cost down.

Dipped? Different Dave. Like it a lot -
Set the piston manually before putting the pads in by turning it anticlockwise. Try and get about 1mm gap. Then adjust the handbrake cable to suit.

Ok so just standard s**te Vauxhall. Yes agree with simpo. A flush with fresh fluid would be a good start.
-
I had an old Vauxhall was mixing slightly was getting mayo on the oil filler. Tbh I drove that car for years with no other symptoms. So maybe just keep an eye on it
-
There the same. Wheel bearing prices are stupid. 40 quid for my eu8. 80 quid for my mb/eg. Seriously in my hand they are identical. Apart from pcd.
-
Ill just get some more air fresheners on me c bar! Bigguns!

I was at japshow. Was good shame ya couldn't go. Not many m's there tbh. Did see an mc2with a d series though. Different.
