    MGZS ARB fix

i used washers can't remember how I set mine up tbh... deffo used washers, but cant remember which side of the arm the washers went.
  3. well, the dice have been cast - dropped the car off this arvo, and the box should be out tonight, then into the workshop to get the bits done to the box

    MGZS ARB fix

so what kind of spacer is it that's needed to b slotted in naz? sort of like a thick washer?
  5. I've got my rear shocks set to the softest they will go, and fronts are roughly 60 percent (from memory) I have had it set higher at the rear but it made it understeer more. had the fronts harder and it made it turn in like a demon, but bangs over bumps / potholes. have had the fronts softer (when the missus was preggers) and it did bounce a little, but not bad really - no where near as bad as with standard shocks - that was dangerous now i'd say that it bumps rather than bounces, if that makes sense? I bought the spacers off a guy on here who'd had them made for his car when he had the same combo (S88 HON) - they're machined from aluminium and sit between the ring that sets the position for the spring cup and the cup itself.
  6. yup... that's the combo... rather low at the front, but tip-top handling with the eibachs i think that being able to adjust the koni shocks is great to stop the bounce, but when you get it set right, the progressive spring rate means that it's not too bad to live with... firm but fair this is how the front used to look (before I got some spacers to raise it up a bit):
  7. wow John - that looks like it really shifts! must be awsome for munching miles
  8. if you've got the optional honda alarm, it's probably the same one that's on mine. It's a cat1 alarm / immobiliser and it's made by a company called Hamilton and Palmer. the control unit for mine is under the driver seat - it's a black metal box bolted to the floor. it's a pretty good alarm - loud as fook... might be worthwhile giving H&P a call to see if you can just get a new fob. I had to get a new siren for mine and the tech guy I spoke to was really helpful. this is what the siren in the engine bay looks like: and this is the key fob: this is their website http://www.hamilton-palmer.co.uk/ and they're based in kent if you need to go see them
  9. No bike rack having said that, a roof box is gonna be on the cards soon I reckon coz there wasn't much room left in at the weekend and I hadn't dusted of the big ass cool box. Was also eyeing up peoples bike racks on the roof. :saddo:
  10. i love my aerodeck because it can do this.... and still overtake stuff like caravans safely and a random photo on the campsite...
  11. I've been wondering if this could be done - any problems or did it work okay?
  12. well... gearbox is postponed until next week because of parts not arriving in time but at least it means we can take the deck camping this weekend instead of trying to fit it all in karens ep1 (the car with the smallest boot in the world) need to jack tubs up this morning to locate the rattle / knocking that's doing my head in. did think that it was the arb - exhaust fun that I've been having coz I'm sure that it's got worse since they put new flanges on, but it's in the back of my mind it might be suspension related.
  13. mouldy bread + no toast + 5am child shaped alarm clock = might as well go to the shops
  14. quick pic from an empty 6am asda car park this morning.... I thought she was looking real purdy....
  15. mmmmmm noodles, your car is sweet as
  16. Yello' When I was getting the sports cat, I was having a chinwag with the guy, and I mentioned the gearbox work I was getting done. The fella reckons that Royal Purple is the best gearbox oil and totally transforms a gearbox, even just on an oil change. Does anyone have any experience of it? I've seen some good stuff on the webs but wondered if anyone here had used it / know of it. Cheers
  17. I know a honda tech who's got a pretty good setup at home (hydraulic lifts etc) - well handy
  18. ta - the back box was always pretty low key. got that first, then everything else just made it sound a bit deeper... centre, mani, then cat.
  19. so after a day of driving to work on motorway, country roads and a roads, I have to say that the cat's the one mod that I've noticed the most. I can best describe it as the difference between having v power or tesco momentum instead of cack supermarket petrol. it's like it's unlocked the other exhaust bits and I wish I'd done it sooner so excited about the gearbox now
  20. Okay - did this this morning on the way to work, from a roundabout, and up a slip road. My phone was in my cradle so the sound quality isn't great (and the image is pretty dull ) 20120807_001.mp4 You'll have to click the link coz I don't know how to put a video in [EDIT: Vid now embedded without need for photobucket nonsense]
