  1. looks really good dave... bit of a transformation
  2. well deserved bud... she's come a long way this year
  3. I deffo prefer the dares (especially the feel from them) but I've warmed to the old honda ones a bit... they look better since it's been lowered than when they were last on (4yrs ago or summat).
  4. been a while since any pics, so here she is freshly valeted and on her old wheels
  5. cheers - loads higher, but I used to have the seat slammed to the floor. it's a much better position though, for comfort and being able to see more!
  6. where's the road gone??? it's like someone's turned the power steering to max... gonna take a bit of getting used to. must admit it does feel more spritely, but nowhere near as planted... roll on march... or loads of snow
  7. not much of an update really, but have just dropped of the original alloys to get some kleber quadraxer winter tyres fitted. looking forwards to seeing how the old girl looks back on her old wheels now she's lower, and also interested to see how it drives on 15s. might get the dares refurbed while they're off... few curbings and bits of laquer peel.
  8. quick update... finally got a new siren for the alarm and fitted it today, so am back to my fully cat1 deafening alarm goodness
  9. to be honest james I couldn't say for sure coz I've never had new oe ones... the first pads a i bought for it were black diamond but i found them a bit bobbins. I do like the feel of the green stuff ones, and they're good stoppers. I'm not a heavy braker, so have never had brake fade on any pads. I've been keeping a nose out for the filter leaking... so far so good. after driving it again today it feels like transformed car... hadn't realised how much it had degraded running -wise
  10. very tidy looking... good choice for a first car
  11. so had some new honda disks and green stuff pads on the front today, as well as driver side ball joint (to stop the dreaded creak) and cv joint as well. also got a new fuel filter on... god knows when the last one was changed because apparrently the stuff that was dripping out of it was filthy... either it hadn't been changed for ages or some crap had went through when the tank was changed. so now it's idling so much smoother and just running nice... also feels nice and tight at the front, and just need to rest my foot on the brakes and it stops. happy days
  12. cheers all the seats are more firm than the original seats, but the foam must be loads better coz it handles the lumps and bumps much better (even for karen's childbirth battered coxcyx) and support everywhere instead of just a couple of spots on your ass and back. I've got those black front doorcards to put in at some point, but will wait until I know what to do with the rears before sticking 'em in. 1"£££$££"!!
  13. yeah - there's a plate welded to each bracket which is in turn welded to the rails. I'm not sure if that'd make much difference (?) tbh the best thing would be to have the bar / plate running front to back and the rail welded down the length... but that might be overkill. the load's still spread across the 4 brackets and there's quite a bit of weld gone into them..
  14. that explains why it doesn't say recaro on them! ahh well - still chuffed with 'em.
  15. best of luck with the baby mate.
  16. here's a dodgy dark pic off my camera showing them in... will probs be the weekend before I get em in the light... you know I must admit I've no idea - I thought that they were all recaros, but obviously not if you're asking that.... thinking about it, the advert didn't mention recaros. either way, they look loads better and are shed loads more comfy
