Lurrvely looking really good there buddy

i think that it's amplified a bit with the lighter flywheel - used to get it down a gear or two, and if i needed to slow down, would let the engine braking do most of the work, but it doesn't have as much effect now, I've found myself braking more than I used to before a bend to be able to keep the power there on the bends. hadn't thought about the lsd being only engaged on the power... think it must mask some of the problems with the handling of the chassis. more bracing required I reckon:) never noticed it before the gearbox work though still brill though... suprised someone in a wee sporty renault tonight on the way home.

So it sounds like for our cars we should go no further than 1.5way! fully customisable as per gran turismo

yup - they're embarrassingly bad. If my car doesn't move for more than a few days, and the handbrake's been on (for all the good it does) it is always a bit siezed.
-
you'll have to keep us posted on this one Dave - are you planning to do this all round or just fronts? I'd love to lose the pants rears and their sticking tendancies / pants handbrake..
-
aye - I've been paying attention to it and am being more gentle with the clutch (must see if bite point can be changed) and it's much better. you've got me thinking though about the lsd... get full on gran turismo

You mean like this - Almost 12 hours of machine polishing to achieve this oooo yeah.... that's the one just been spying at the other pics on facebook, and the accord looked mint! also a reg neighbour to my car... just 53 down the road

true, but 1st gear doesn't go as far as it used to these days... aye, was thinking of lift off oversteer, but it was happening after changing gear, but you're right.. once the wheels spin up in 2nd and it slides, i probably do take the gas off quick.... that'll do it then it's a booger that the clutch bites so high... it was easy to do quick changes and modulate it when it was right down low. and it's so light as well. wish I'd got an uprated clutch now... if I'd known how light this one would be I would have. you can say that again

I'd noticed that the front end felt like it was struggling a bit after the work, so stiffened the front dampers - I'd assumed that this had upset the balance a bit, but it sounds like not. Thinking about it, it normally breaks traction when actually changing into second rather than out of first... it can easily wheel spin when putting it into second now, and the new clutch bites much higher up than the old one (right at the bottom) - I think that this is probably making me dump the clutch quicker, and upsetting the balance. need to relearn the car a bit I reckon, after 6 years of how it used to be.

so since getting the gearbox done, if I'm accelerating hard and turning (like pulling onto a roundabout) I've started having a big drift / oversteer changing from 1st to 2nd!!! it's a bit nuts think i need to stiffen the shocks at the rear a touch...

ah cool - will keep an eye open for them, cheers Dave Mate, my standard box is 3k rpm at 60mph? Problem is, almost all other cars are 70mph at 3k rpm, so makes the mb6/mc2's a bit high reving for motorways. On saying that, Dawns deck (1.6) is exactly the same......3k at 60mph I used to get 56 at 3k? (never like to go past 3k on a morning until she's warm, and used to get cars sat behind me).. not much difference to standard, but better than the s80

so i finally got around to popping in these door cards (a few weeks ago) from the mg - wish that the rear doors didn't have manual window winders looks much better, and there isn't too much of a clash with the ones in the back.

had a drive down to darlington tonight after work to do an ebay collection (baby, not car) - about 70 mile round trip... took motorway there, and a roads home.. lots of slow drivers that i had to overtake - and a bloke in a golf GTI that tried to overtake me on a roundabout with only 1 lane exit!!! - TRIED... the look on his face when he had to slam on the brakes and slot in behind. he was fuming! didn't see it for long though I love my gearbox
