Mr Brown's Project MB3- Front End Repair Underway

Nice one mate! She's holding up really well and especially for that mileage. Not so much about the engine because Honda's are bullet proof (obviously) but what's around the car, like suspension an all. I love how my 17 year old MB3 is faultless! Fly's through the MOT every time without any advisories in the last 3 years of owning her. She's a gem! -

Are all Catalystic Converters the same size?
vtec2011 replied to vtec2011's topic in Engine & Chassis
Thanks for all the help people! Guess what, a friend of mine gave me a standard D16Z6 manifold which has no CAT. It looks like it can bolt straight onto my MB looking at it roughly (it should fit as majority of d-series parts are all interchangeable) So I ordered a new gasket set which only cost me £7.42 and fingers cross it will fit to the center exhaust pipe! If it doesn't fit, then oh well.... the manifold cost nothing and the gaskets are ready for a 4-2-1 manifold at a later date! Hopefully it will free up some more horses and more noise in a next few days! -

Wow! It's like driving around in a mobile nightclub... -
haha! Unfortunately the exhaust has created a loud rattle at certain rpm (between 1500-2000rpm) I think it's hitting the LCA. I will find out tomorrow

Cheers man! I am so in-love with the sound that I have the windows down all the time

Again, such a nice interior upgrade. Looks perfect! I need a set of red ones saying Captain Morgan MB3 for mine -
Ooo I'm liking that a lot! Is the TB bigger than the OEM one?
-
Haha, it's a long way to travel! I misread your last comment, this isn't a standard MGZS back-box, it's made by "LongLife Exhaust"

Ah yeah... Didn't think of that! I hope sports cat for d-series engines exist! -

Thanks guys! I thought there was a good reason why the cat is located in the engine bay (I bet it cause some heat in their though ) It's probably just easier to get a 4-2-1 manifold then. Hopefully the 4-2-1 can connect to the existing center pipe too. Problem is I don't like the idea of swapping the cat/mani back over just for the MOT. Mmm... think I will have to work something out. Fun times haha -

Nice one! Nothing worse than having leaks (actually rust is the killer) OEM steel wheels going back on then?- 1,645 replies

I am looking into getting a de-cat as the cat smells like rotting eggs But I also want to add a bit of noise... Problem is the cat is bolted onto the exhaust manifold and I don't know if the dimensions are the same as the cats on the exhaust under the car. Mine looks like this... Thanks for looking!

Good to see your getting back into a MB, and even better - a VTi-S!!!
-
Awesome! That is great news. Looking forward to the photos! And even more great news for me knowing my Civic is 26hp more than the 323 1.5
-
Thanks buddy! Yeah this is the MGZS backbox

Finally got round to getting a video on what she now sounds like Not sure how you post videos on here but here's a Youtube link! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USD4a4ZGiUU

I undersealed my MB3 even though it doesn't have one bit of rust on it. I'll do anything to protect it from rust! And please don't break her, seeing way too many M's being broke lately

The new Mazda sounds tasty, I am looking forward to this! My neighbor has a 323 1.5 and he loves the thing to death. We're always ripping each over saying which one is faster, my Civic or his 323 I think the 323 has more torque than the Civic

My Civic MA The Story Continues, She’s Back :)
vtec2011 replied to skitzma8's topic in Honda Civic MA/MB/MC
Top work What clutch kit is it? I'm looking into the Exedy clutch but I don't know what stage to get. When I got my Civic 3 years ago, the first thing I done was put a shorter gear ratio gearbox which came from a EM1 D16 motor and I put proper Honda MTF in, so far so good! The original gearbox had knackered input shaft bearings anyway -

Oh nice! Looks like a quality manifold and no I'm not jealous! This will defiantly be my next mod... Can't wait to see the results! -
I have been too busy playing music the with the new exhaust James! But yes, after waiting all f**king day for the exhaust clamp to arrive from SES, I still managed to remove the center exhaust, cut off the flange and re-arrange it to line it up with the MGZS exhaust. Despite doing a bit of tweaking here and there, it was very easy! I have never modified an exhaust system before and I think I have done a pretty good job! So I fired her up and she almost sounds perfect! The tone is just right but it could be a little more louder (obviously that will change) I only got one quick snap of the zaust but I will soon upload better pictures and a video of course Damn my car needs a clean... Oh yeah and to those who are wondering where I got the back-box, I took it off a MGZS 180 in the scrappy. LongLife stainless steel with 3.5" tip (I think) Proper bargain which only cost me 8 quid!
