  1. That's the style......you've now got a solid car that should be good for the foreseeable......isn't it a great feeling when your car passes muster Ricky Rust has been ousted.....your anti roll bushes and drop links have been renewed......tis time to enjoy your new improved car.
  2. Driving in heavy traffic can be tiresome.....the upside is.......others will not be able to master your car without practise.
  3. Competition clutches tend to be snatchy by nature so you'll have to get the hang of it as the disc beds in. Snagging is to be expected so good luck with the minor oil leak.
  4. Wow ! that's a finish you can be proud of......your car looks brand spanking new. Was it a competition clutch you used ? seeing as it's so snatchy. Is it an oil leak you speak of ?
  5. I thought my old shocks were adequate but there's a marked difference....so much so....I thought I was in a different car. The new rear caliper means I'll be using less fuel and not wearing out the the new disc and pad . To treat me and the car....I fitted new black mats with red piping.......he he .... I have a thing about red and black combined.......I'm tempted to get a proper black leather steering wheel cover with red stitching.....that's the height of my mods
  6. It isn't bad enough for "Car SOS" but you'll find it needs a fair bit of work once ground back.....looks like you caught it just in time. https://alvadi.ee/en/carparts/honda/civic-lb-5-d-eu-mb-mc2-1997/sill-repair-part/
  7. Brilliant to hear you're having the job done.....once rust is no longer an issue you can you can update and uprate your car to your heart's content.
  8. Makes perfect sense but I'm not brave enough to tell 'em how to do the job ......I didn't charge them to fix their washing machine so in turn I expect they'll look after me.
  9. Terrible news Jamie , if you can have all the work done for under £300 or so I reckon you should continue with a car that's been in your family since new.
  10. Just came off the phone from my MOT Garage......they'll fit the parts and do the necessary tracking for £160.....not bad considering my local Mechanic wanted £180 without tracking.....he has tracking equipment but his Garage floor is too uneven for using precise equipment IMO.......full geometry set up ....you sure I need to go to such lengths ?.....I shan't be asking the car to handle like a leach....lol My Mot Garage knows what it's doing so I shan't tell 'em how to load and torque the shocks....if I do they'll probably want another £50. The Garage owner actually rang me to see if I'll pop down to diagnose their workshop washing machine that's sticking mid cycle.....all I have to do is diagnose the problem.....they'll do the donkey work once they know what's ailing the machine. Hope Mindy shudders less once you have the work carried out

    Car parts quiz

Can you name these car parts from the images ? https://quizzes.autoversed.com/quiz/86-people-cant-guess-these-48-car-parts-looking-just-one-image-can-you-learn?utm_medium=paid&utm_source=taboola&utm_campaign=1273256&utm_term=oath-aolukhomepagecarousel&utm_content=This+car+parts+quiz+stumps+most+men&adid=108631526&img=http%3A%2F%2Fgleaned-images.stuff.com%2Fsignals-test%2Fcafffc7313f714246dc1540160a6c7e68f5bf8b0e0c6f9fcd46bb3ac&mkcpgn=a8cf1253640b41859c1b3f511eecfd14&sg_uid=a8cf1253640b41859c1b3f511eecfd14
  13. The MOT flagged up "misting shocks" so I decider to replace them regardless of them behaving perfectly. I suppose I'll notice a little difference once the newbies are fitted but I'm not expecting a black and white difference. My rear brake caliper has been sticking ever since I got the car so I expect a noticeable difference once the new caliper is fitted....yes, I could of freed the caliper but I'm fed up pratting about. I'm no longer agile enough to climb under cars so I'll be having the work carried out by my local mechanic........I never stay and watch the work being done because I'd be inclined to tell the mechanic how to do the job properly........I expect most of you understand where I'm coming from....lol Looks like my A to B car will survive for the foreseeable
  14. Just ordered front shocks (Monroe) and a rear brake caliper (Micks Garage).....I purposely avoided online cheapies. Parts should arrive tomorrow...he he....like a child... I can't wait.
  15. https://www.gsfcarparts.com/ Well worthwhile if you're in the market for spares.
  16. It's amazing how your determined graft saved the Day Jake ....keep up the good work.
  17. Looks like you got yourself a right bargain low mileage Civic .....they are like hens teeth.
  18. Sorry 'bout that Jamie....lol........I'm better with naming cars
  19. For arguments sake......lets presume you've spent £500 improving your car over the last 12 Months........that's cheap motoring by any standards and best of all you form a relationship with your car.
  20. The smoked lights look great Jay. Forced induction is a very expensive route to take, you could also consider dropping a 1.8 lump into your car.....that would give you 170 bhp without too much expense.
  21. Dave, you've convinced me to do right by my 'ol MB2.....in the words of Del Boy........"ya know it makes sense" Once I order new springs/shocks and a brake calliper I'll have no choice but to fit 'em.....amazing how a man can trick himself into doing the right thing with a bit of prompting.
