That car...mhhhhhhhhhhh...love everything about it...!!! Plus you're absolutely right with your sig: I'm fine with my D15 talking about saving cash on fuel...but holy mother - german autobahn is insane...!!! Everyday i'm trying to cruize with 100 mph (160 km/h) and i'm still an obstruction of traffic. Cars are flying by with at least 130 mph or more...standard insanity i would say. So yes...i miss the power of my B18-ITR and i can't wait for the K24-swap into my MB9. Damn 3.0 litre TDI's...i will take revenge...!!!3 points

lol ty for the replies! Yup, was one mega session on Ruby, but Pauls labour rates are cheap! lol Plenty tea and biccies and all is sweet! We gotta go get a new battery for Pauls fireblade now as it's boogered! Job for today! Had Ruby ou today to get some miles on her and bed the brakes in. Brakes are bedded in nicely now, but o/s/r is still a bit iffy. Going to order up brand new rear calipers to end all the sticky rear brakes issues. Further plans for Ruby this year are going to include some body work. Whilst doing the rear brakes, noticed a tiny bubble has appeared on the rear arch First bit of rust ever on her. Can't complain I guess as she's not exactly a spring chicken any more. So plan is she will be going into a bodyshop to get both (might aswell do both sides) rear arches completely cut off, and replaced with brand new ones, then obviously painted. Bonnet needs sprayed (stone chips) so might even go for a full respray, even though the rest of the paintwork is near perfect (but I prefer perfection!). Then the big plan takes action......................................S2K running gear and rwd conversion! Aye right! pmsl!2 points

That is a Honda crank pulley tool. Its the best £40 ive spent. None of this "you need a snap impact gun" or 1000ft barge pole to swing on. Just click away on amazon and then stick it in the hex rest it on the floor and swing on the normal 1/2 breaker bar to crack the pulley nut off. Im a race engineer for a Porsche race team, and a Honda enthusiast, this combo gets me by. As for doing another swap, I need to sit down for a while, im engined out at the moment! The last month or so ive not lived really, every weekend and some evenings have been working on this. Dont regret a milli second of it though!!2 points

as hes giving some back i think i will push through to keep it now lol It did sound awesome and will sound even better soon. Might get a electronic choke as well.2 points

I also replaced the fuel filters in my car and my dads green deck, I tried a few months ago but couldn't get the bottom nut off until I tried today and realised I was turning it the wrong way because it was upside down safe to say I felt pretty stupid2 points

I had put the wheel (less tyre) on the car before hand and even that was sticking way out! Dinochips car looks like its not on crazy camber so was impressed when i saw someone else had put those wheels on! Wish it was mine but i was fed up with all the possible arch work etc! Dinochips car is lovely and deserved winner of COTM! More detailed info on wheel fitment/issues would really help others out though......1 point

I didn't get as many photos as id like during installation but I think enough to make it less daunting for others, I used about 9 good quality heatshrink butt connectors, a ring connector for earth and 3 soldered splices for power1 point

This is exactly what I said to him. I don't even get up from the bed for 5€ However, now I have to put the calipers on, bleed the brakes and finally put the superturismos with 195/45 tires on and go for a drive... Tomorrow, we go to Kiskunlachaza in Hungary. Any thoughts on whether that silencer pipe on my car looks standard, or aftermarket? I'd hate to think its a standard Honda part with such restrictive internals. As much as I've alot of love for a mk3 Golf, I've a plan to eventually get rid of the S3 and build a mk2 GTI with a BAM engine and LSD. There is a video on Youtube of one destroying a Westfield round Brands Hatch at a track day a couple of years back, and ever since then I've wanted to get one done. Yeah too much VAG chat on this thread lol1 point
-
There's a lad who's got the Mk1 or 2 Golf pickup, ratted of course! Fitted with the BAM engine and then tuned to around 300bhp!1 point

That picture he sent you saying it was done just made me laugh out loud in the office! Have you driven it yet? As for centre pipe, DC2 should fit but I'm not sure if it'll marry up with the CAT. My older brother has the non turbo Mk4 GTi, drives alright but is woeful!1 point

I looked at the mk4 when I was looking for the vti-s, I was looking at the turbo one though, the non turbo is just shameful.1 point

Complete new arches, not leaving anything to chance then? I read this wrong, too much GTA I think.1 point

Thats the fella' Though saw him on celebrity juice and he was a funny guy1 point

Yep for my needs it's just too loud. To be honest, it does make me laugh when I'm out hooning the car and in vtec it sounds amazing, but I want something that looks and sounds a bit more subtle, especially below 4,500rpm without any noticable power losses. My friend got my Jetex back box on last night so I'm going to head over and collect it later. He said its now quiet enough to hear induction noise which is what I want, and more torquey than it was on the old system, which is a big statement for him as he normally hates Jap stuff lol I'm some pics that he sent me that I'll upload later.1 point

Nice bit of work going off there! JDM tail lights are awesome! I'm still getting used to just having one reverse light!1 point

Thx...!!! I like the gold / polished look too, but i'm saving cash now to get my second wheel set fully polished. That's my favorite look at the moment...can't get enough of it - check this out...HOT HOT HOT Yes, i think classic mesh wheels really look nice on oldschool cars...!!! Very elegant look.1 point

Looking good mate!! Nice lot of work. Think I saw those lights on the FB page, don't think you'd have got away with that! Lol Did you take all the window trims off to wrap them or did you do them in situe?1 point

No update, but thought if share my grins. Little lad in a tidy mx5 roadster pulled up along side, could see him looking the car over, don't think he knew what it was, that was until it left him in a trail of dust Very satisfied grin at the next traffic lights when he didn't try to do it again.1 point

Well, been busy getting Ruby ready for our meet this Sunday. As mentioned earlier, I'd had her out for a blast one day and got serious probs with the front brakes. Basically they got almost jammed on! Found out the caliper had siezed on both sides, more so on the passenger side though. Plus the front discs, which had already been machined, warped due to the heat. Soooo, Bought brand new front discs and pads from Western Honda and had got a second hand pair of calipers from a member on here. Plane was to completely strip the newly bought calipers down and fit new seals, pistons, sliders etc and prep and paint them so they'd be as new. Time wasnt on my side! So, Paul came down at 3pm on Monday and we got busy!. We hit a few probs along the way, and had to head out to buy some tools (blow torch and an impact driver set as one of the screws on the discs was solid!). Once we got the calipers off, I refurbed them as they were actually in pretty good shape, so wire brush on the drill and they came up like new. We cleaned up the slide pins, as they were in a state, but were good as new when we put it all back together. Obviously being the genuine Honda pads, they came with new retaining clips and caliper bolts etc, so got them plus the new discs all fitted up! Then we drained the old fluid, which was black! The age of it, and the fact the brakes overheated when they were stuck on had boiled the fluid. So drained/flushed it all out and went for some nice new DOT 5.1 racing fluid. Job almost done, the handbrake stopped working for some reason! So car back up on the stands, we had to strip the rear caliper down on the drivers side, as it had siezed! spent bloody ages on it, trying to get everything working, and also had to work on the pass side one with the blow torch too! We finally finished at.........................................bloody 5am Tuesday morning! But was well worth it, the brakes are back to how they should be on the MB6, and are pulling her up nicely with hardly any pedal effort at all. I'm going to do a complete refurb on those other front calipers I got though, and make them like brand new then fit them. Also going to buy brand new rear calipers, as the ones on her arent in the best of condition, but will be able to refurb them at some point and keep em as spares. I'll try and get some pics of the new brakes up when I get a chance. Least shes ready for Sunday................just a wash and machine polish for both her and the deck and they'll both be match fit!1 point

Thanks for the positive comments guys I'm quite happy doing some tidying up. Debating a debadge or not... I like the clean boot but I also like my VTi badges As for wheels I'd love to keep it OEM+ but anything tasteful will do. No 17s. No multifits. No fake splits Seen these floating about online USDM Accord alloys so practically 0 chance sourcing them in this country! But my choice of wheel will be 15x7 possibly 15x8 depending on the offset and the style will be similar to the above. Large, flat faces. These are last on my list (as wheels should be) so it might even be 2015!1 point
