so i've decided that the Christmas meet on the 7th of December will be her last time on the road this year!! she'll be coming off and more work to be done to really make her more mine and so that i am happier with her, more parts and updates will be done throughout the time she's off the road though!!!4 points

I used EBC discs and Greenstuff pads around the Nurburgring and founds once I'd stopped the pads binding in the carriers they were upto the task 8 laps later they still worked well on the trip home and are still sitting on the hubs in the garage now! The powder coating they put on the back of the pad is a little too thick and needed to be cut away on my car but that could just be bad luck on my part as I've never had the problem before. I've also tried Black Diamond discs on several other cars with Ferrodo pads and had some very good results. I'd recommend decent over braided brake hoses as well, I've run HEL and Goodridge ones over the years and had no issues, they also improve brake feel and if the car is still running the original OEM ones they will probably be coming up for a change. The HEL ones on the Civic were a good fit. Stock: HEL: DOT 5.1 is another good call, I always swap that into every car I've ever owned after DOT 4 boiled on me during a spirited drive home one night. Never had the problem since! You could go balls out and put something a little more powerful under the wheels....... Yet to try these in anger yet but so looking forward to it!!!2 points

Yeah it was no need for it really. Pretty sure people won't say it like that face to face at a car meet or something Well said. Good thing that some people on C5 FB are not on here. When I look at cars, sometimes I can find something is not quite fitted right or look right, you got to realize peoples background. Like you said, I am on a tight budget They made a big yooha out of the swirl marks If you wasn't harsh on me when it came to lowering my Aerodeck (properly) I would've taken short cuts again... actually no, I learned that mistake Yeah thanks for that Grant. It always seem to be Mr Cole who never says anything positive unless it was about his car I'm working on the spoiler now, just started sanding down using 1200 grit. Not sure to be honest, I don't think I want to put my car in for respray with them. Seems like everyone at the bodyshop is trying to avoid my car...2 points

I know there's already a million and one threads on here and on other forums about speaker sizes, but here's another for you.. From what I've read everywhere, the MB6 standard fronts are 6" and the rears are 4"? So how come the 4" speakers I've got are too small and don't fit the mounting holes? Do I need some sort of adapter? Cheers! 😤1 point

I thought i would just start a wee thread to take our banter away from Simpo's thread as he is trying to sell his car and it is being hijacked! After a few of my comments regarding Decks, i would just like to say that i don't hate them, just think they have been designed by a primary skool kid! To the point, hatches are lighter, look better and are generally better!!!!!1 point

So that settles it then, neither are bettet than the other they are both m's which instantly makes both awsome choices.1 point
-
Oh dear, lets all play nicely and agree that its all down to personal taste. I was of the opinion that the deck looked wierd and was not a fan until i joined civic5 then they grew on me and i love them now. But MY personal preference is for the hatch. Reaf carefully i said my preference not one is better than the other as thats how it works, you get choices and everybodys choice is different. Thats why manufacturers give us options to please everyone...1 point
-
know exactly how you feel as I got to this stage a while ago with my car1 point
-
LMAO It isnt adding "hatch stuff" Ali, they made a VTiS deck aswell as the VTiS hatch, and as with the hatch, they offered the full kit as an optional accessory when new. So the VTiS kit was always available to buy for both cars. Both cars really benefit from the kit, really changes the look of them. Anyways, hatch Vs deck or deck Vs hatch, any Civic M is a cool Honda in my book. Both are sweet and both are different to the norm..................which is what makes them so good.1 point
-
Cheers mate. Will have to try get up there for another meet sometime. Yeah engine is my next goal then think I will stop1 point
-
Much cleaner lines. Deck owners get interest when the fishermen stop to have a look!1 point
-
I like both equally. I'd never trade my MB6 for an MC2 but I do prefer how the Decks look with the VTiS kit and the mid-wing!1 point

Well I think that is me done messing about with modding my MB6. I have recently had the arches rolled and suspension setup with a healthy -1 camber on front and -1 on rear. Doesn't handle quite as sharp as the previous track setup but my tyres will now last longer! I have taken the car as far as i think is justifyable in terms of age and what i use the car for. I'm happy with the power and handling so no need to spend big on cams, intake etc. The car is now built for track days and hooning, whilst it's also my daily drive. I will continue to maintain the car to a high standard and spend to keep it on the road for a further couple of years! It's honestly been a great buy and still love driving it after over 2.5 years. Long may that continue.....if i don't get any more Asbo's! So this build thread will now be less interesting!1 point

As above mate, you've already seen my reply .. Spoiler could be interesting. Didnt like the way mine turned out . Remember to flat the primer back with some 1200-1500 before the top coat.. And loads and loads of lacquer after! What was the trick with the body shop then? Hoping thats not where your putting the car into if they cant even get a spoiler done in a month !1 point

Very true I know some people won't like certain things on other people's cars but that's why there all different everyone got there own tastes and making there cars individual to them. Just wish people would read through the build threads and get an idea of how hard it is for some people doing there cars on a pretty tight budget. And think about how they are saying it too not just blurt out exactly the first thing in there head. Keep up the good work though kyfer your doing a great job mate.1 point

They are a lovely wheel. I used to love mine. I think they are a 14" diameter wheel. Would it get in the way of the dials on the Civic? Maybe that doesn't matter1 point

Spend the TLC money mate . .Keep with it .. Every car will have maintenance costs ! And in my experience the maintenance costs of a derv is a lot higher! Arch isnt great, but can be done to a decent standard for not bank braking money ! IMO no point having a derv daily and a show/weekend car, the running costs of the two will be considerably higher, meaning less monies on the project .. And unless your getting a new derv, the milage wont be too much better! Just my thoughts ..1 point

The DS2500's are definitely good pads .. For similar money i'd also be looking at the Hawk hp+ which i thought were awsome ! Fluid is obv an important factor, as are braided lines .. Disc wise, look at mtec, alot use them and appear to hold up ok. I think i'll be getting them next time around .. I used ADL Blueprint blanks on my EK with Hawk HP+ pads, RBF600 and HEL braided lines.. (AND DRUMS ON THE BACK!) That thing would out brake nearly anything !1 point

So things started off great, and have taken a turn for thr worse So everything was looking good, polished and looking very clean THEN!!!!!!!! :( Someone decides to go into the side of me. Ruined the door, i managed to get another one, which is slightly purple in certain light. so that will have to be sprayed. In the process of fillering atm, as you can see from the photo theres alot of filler needed ( Arch and door Gap ) photobucket has decided to rotate it for me aswell1 point
