  1. Crap, so sorry to hear about your dad mate. Glad you got the rta bushes sorted - bet that's made a big difference!
  2. Overall I'm over the moon.. It drives so tight and firm.. Seems like I needn't have worried about using OEM spec shocks. All of the bracing and bushes have certainly done the job (still got the rear strut brace to fit as well) but it's like an estate go kart Couple of little gremlins to get sorted - screen wash isn't working - can hear the pump going, but no squirt. There's the issue with the horn sounding when you turn the rear fog on (but not if the fronts already on), and also the light reminder alarm makes an odd noise sometimes.. Seems like there's some oddness going on with the wiring.
  3. Proud owner of a taxed and MOT'd Mc2 back in my grubby little paws
  4. Mine needed a bit of bending to get it lined up, but no big drama.
  5. The brace is looking good - I like a nice brace
  6. Which of the many types of gunk is it mate? https://www.google.com/search?safe=strict&client=ms-android-hmd-rev2&ei=9WZEYNefIYzzgQbSwZ2ABw&q=gunk+engine+degreaser&oq=gunk+engine&gs_lcp=ChNtb2JpbGUtZ3dzLXdpei1zZXJwEAEYADIFCAAQkQIyBQgAEJECMgIIADICCAAyAggAMgIIADICCAAyAggAOgQIABBHOgcIABCxAxBDOgQIABBDUNAnWJo4YIVOaABwAXgAgAF6iAHdAZIBAzEuMZgBAKABAcgBCMABAQ&sclient=mobile-gws-wiz-serp#scso=_AWdEYKq0A4yUgAbg2Z7YDw10:737.7142944335938
  7. It sounds like you need to get a project thread started
  8. Think I'll try some of your gunk Dave The engine bay is the one bit of the new one that needs some smartening up.
  9. I guess that the emissions is the potential tricky part of the failures, but I suppose it depends on how far out they are. Otherwise, brakes and tyres should be fairly straightforward. Viewing and getting it with no MOT and lockdown is going to also be tricky.
  10. Likely to be Waxoil (or similar)
  11. Glad that you got to the bottom of it mate.. Nice puzzle that one
  12. Yeah, tubs had definitely gone there and I thought that's where the leak was coming from at one point. I'd pointed it out to the garage and asked them to make sure that the hinges were sealed on properly because they did look like they were starting to go. One thing for sure, I'm going to be all over any sign of water inside.
  13. It certainly would have been gutting! Can't wait to go on a nice long run in it!
  14. Hope you feel better soon mate. I wonder if your immune system has kicked in more with you having it before? Hopefully the next one is milder.
  15. So that's where the siren is on my mc2. Mine is an optional extra cat1 system made by Hamilton and palmer, but it looks quite different to that. I've also got a metal box fixed to the floor under the drivers seat (might be worth checking yours). I can't remember how I found out they made it because it's not printed anywhere, but when I had my siren problem I sent them a photo of the siren and they identified the system from there. They've always been really helpful. This is their website https://www.hamilton-palmer.co.uk/
  16. Yeah, it is... although I'm in bed with some bug (not covid) at the minute, so a few more days is okay.
  17. I've not seen it with my own eyes to see what it looks like, but it sounds like something to keep an eye on.
  18. I was wondering if the MA had the same as the others, coz the immobiliser chip is hidden under the rubber bit, so not sure where it could be on that key.
  19. That's an odd problem - especially the bit where the key in the lock was disarming the system but not anymore. Have you been able to have a look at the siren under the bonnet? That might give you an idea of who made it (but if the alarm is going off you might want to disconnect the battery to save your ears ) @Dave had an MA so might recognise the key fob.
