  1. Just saw this on face ache https://m.facebook.com/groups/1490055374619145/permalink/2696117694012901/ It's close to me, but I've got nothing to do with it. The guy who's selling it normally breaks cars - mainly honda. Photos aren't the best, and he says in the ad that the engines smoking.
  2. Canny little run around - can have a bit of fun in wee cars if the engine lets you rag it What you thinking about getting? Another honda?
  3. Well, motor factors said that all of the 7 catalogues for all the big manufacturers have the same part Went to the local Honda dealer, and they confirmed that the clips only come with the pads, so a set of pads was ordered - it's not like I'm not going to need another set of pads ever Have to be sent from Belgium though, so will be end of the week.
  4. I know, problem is I looked on lings at the start to get the part number and they don't even list them as a separate part, only with pads which of course are now showing un-flipping-available. Going to have one more try with the motor factors, then probably get in touch with Tegiwa or Japserviceparts to see if they can help.
  5. Doesn't matter, just looked at the workshop manual, and the vti ones are a totally different shape. Non vti Vti I've got the wrong ones again! FFS
  6. Before I lose the plot (more) would somebody have a pic of the front caliper on a vti where I can get Good look at how the brake pad retaining clips look when they're fitted? I just went to install the new ones I got from the motor factors, and they're the same size as the ones I got from euro car parts, just these ones have also got the clips that span between the main ones (and these seem like they'll be too short to reach). I just want to check in not being a total divvy.

Hi frazer. Your best bet is the honda workshop manual - you can download it from the downloads section here. That should have all the info you need.

    MC2 ARB Query

AFAIK, the only bolt on ones are either the MGZS or the mb6 one. Others would need modification.
  9. Cost a tenner in the end for the ones for the fronts. Hopefully get them on tomorrow if it stays dry after work (don't think it will...)
  10. Nice - some big changes to the interior mate
  11. They're completely wrong to be honest - the vti kit has 4 pieces per side, and these have only got 2.
  12. Grrrr... They're not the right ones are they! For some ordered from the local motor factors which is what I should have done in the first place. They're for an mb4...
  13. Daft eh! The rears are still in though so no idea at what point they disappeared or what someone was thinking.
  14. Rattle investigations today. There's been some clattering from the front end since getting the car back. I thought that it was the exhaust rattling on the h brace, but yesterday i noticed that it had got much worse from the front passenger wheel. Whipped the wheel off and had a bit poke around. Seems that my low profile jack is only just low enough to clear the new skirts... Also, seems that the car hasn't lost its ability to lift the front and back when jacking the front. Could hear the back lifting before the front Found that there was a bit of play on the top wishbone, so torqued both sides up properly - think that they may have been torqued to 3 door settings. Also found that the retaining clips for the front pads aren't there, and they can move in and out along the radius of the disk (probably in other directions as well) - going for a test drive afterwards, the rattling goes away when trailing the brakes. So got some clips from euro car parts for about £1.50... Crazy that such a small thing can make it sound like the car is falling apart! When I was down there, there was a lush Sierra parked outside.
  15. Wheels look good mate - can see the different colours coming through.
  16. Got a dc2 intake with a k&n in and a dc2 throttle body... Just need the IM ported to match the tb
  17. This is how I managed to get it looking all those years ago... Haven't quite got that finish yet!
  18. Love what you've done to this ek - plenty of nice work there.
  19. Yes it is mate, looks great when it's clean and the sun hits it. Shame that it wasn't sold over there.
  20. Started cleaning up the engine bay - got the autosol out and gave the cover a bit of a spruce up as it was looking a bit tired. Also started cleaning up the mani - just did one pipe though for now, and that needs quite a bit more polishing. Also, there's some new blue ht leads in there too replace the old blue ht leads. Had it so long now I'm having to replace mods that are starting to look tired
