Motors don't slow down on these,99% of the time it's just the window run channels. U can either go out and buy proper rubber spray and lube the window rubbers or u can put a blob of fairy liguid in the run channel and operate the windows. Don't leave it though cuz normaly you'll end up either burning the motor out or bending the motor frame and the window will come out of the runners. All 5 of my civic 5 doors have had this issue I'm alittle OCD about these things so I removed door card, pulled the run channels out, cleaned them fully with brake cleaner and then greased the run channel where the window runs up and down. Good luck4 points

She looks lovely and shiny But im one of the won't use car wash crew as like the others in this crew i won't risk using the brush with everyones dirt in it, it causes fine scratches.. But you need to be pretty anal or ocd like me. I only wash my cars using my microfibre mitt So time to stop rambling on like an old fart and back to this thread... I hope in the early part of next year when the weather clears up and meets begin to happen again our M's shall FINALLY meet, this one on my list of must sees3 points

Got another cool idea. They do a clear coat as well which turns metallic into matt. Definately a plan for the summer, matt metallic blue a winner....2 points

Have to concur with above. I use silicone grease down the runner, solves the problem. Both my mb and eg suffered with same problem and the old glass jumping out the runner too.1 point

Yeah I'm hanging on to this one for the next year or two now whether I like it or not lol I've still a few things that I want to get done over the next few months such as underseal it and have a good hoke and prod at the suspension bushes, but it means any performance mods keep getting pushed back. It came with a stamped service book up until early this year and the past half dozen or so MOT certs and tax discs, but no receipts (which is something I always keep). The guy who had it said that the ABS lights have been on since he bought the car two years ago! I'd have thought this would would have been an MOT failure; it certainly would be here in Northern Ireland where our MOT centres are government ran and can be quite strict. It did make me wonder if he had a 'friendly' MOT tester and just maintained usual service items such as plugs, filters and oil. LSA9K mentioned on here earlier that he thought he recognised the car from a previous member. I've been trying to find it a few times but can't find a thread on it.1 point

Ouch, nice dent to your wallet there! Nice touch with the fob there! Yeah that's the only downside to these not being as popular as EG's, EK's etc is the cost of parts is a bit higher! But at least these are the sort of TLC things that you only tend to do once or twice in the cars liftime (seals, sump type thing). Should easily give you a couple of years trouble free after that lot! As you said, mileage is only half the story! Has it got any service history?1 point

Yeah, sounding more and more like the motor mate. Are all the connections on the motor good? Also, thinking about it, if you have any members near you, might be worth asking them nicely if you could borrow their window switch to see if it makes any difference. Or try swapping for one of your other window switches, just to check its not the switch itself.1 point
