I'd tread carefully worth that one. As ali says, without uprated springs etc the engine will lunch itself revving that high. I'd still be tempted to swap the chip with the proper map on...

Doesn't look like it... Same gasket is listed for ours and type r (and b16 as well). Be worthwhile sticking a new one on as well. Anyone know if there's any point in thermal ones?

Having said that, I'm sure that I've heard people talking about needing an integra throttle cable - sure that @KiNK43 had to use one for his aftermarket one.

Think so. Think that ours is 60mm, but the type r is 62mm. Not a huge difference, but picked it up for about 25 quid plus postage.

Just be careful taking the chip out....

Wheels look canny So, when you get the new ecu, would be worthwhile trying swapping the chips out, coz your old one was mapped to the car instead of being a random base map. That's assuming that something went wrong with the ecu and not the chip
