  1. that photos was taken ages ago, probably round Christmas, when i was on call, its an old one as the red truck behind the car is now in Africa, enjoying a working retirement
  2. had them on now for about 200 miles, and impressions are good, both dry and wet, forgot to mention that they are XL rated aswell, they ride a lot softer than the yokohama's as well.
  3. ahh, cafe aerodeck, its now made several appearances at car shows now. as for mods, it's now got USDM indicators with thanks to @Chandler, LED side light bulbs and for something different, i've attached an led light bar below the number plate, which is wired in to the sidelights, so at night it looks awesome. I've also got hold of some headlight protectors aswell, at a very good price aswell! the yokohama tyres have now been replaced with uniroyal RS3's' which have done 200 miles or so, and are looking quite promising on the grip front, and the ride has improved as well with the softer sidewall. and one random shot

  6. right, long time coming this one.....lol at the end of may this happened. I had an unprovoked attack against the car, some scrote put 2 windows through late saturday night, i was woken up by the police early sunday morning. but the police had already caught and had the person in custody who did it. and was in court on the monday after it happened, where he was found guilty and ordered to pay me costs.. as for traveling, the cars been as far north as Edinburgh, as far south as the new forest for the simply jap meet at beaulieu motor museum and as far west as manchester, although looking at going to wales this weekend.... and also some epic flykill.... i've also driven stuff with lots more HP than the car. ex BR class 20, 1000hp produced by a 127ltr V8 supercharged diesel an industrial type hunslet loco, about 250bhp, but this has 400 ton of freshly cast steel behind it, you can still see how hot it is! A daf cf truck with 380bhp, a 16 speed gearbox and a speed limiter set at 56mph.... i'll upload the rest tomorrow...as most of them need re sizing....
  7. Right a quick update, I'll do a proper one later...(proper one, lol, like that'll happen) My work van has just ticked over 125000 miles, and the deck has just clicked over 193000 miles. I know which one I trust more...
  8. got mine friday, were fitted that afternoon, bloody good job i didn't hold out on the tyres as my old ones could of given me 9 points.... three of them were below the legal limit DUE to them going out of shape on the inside. so folks, check all of the tyre not the bit you can see easily... initial impressions. i now appear to be running a slightly stretched look, despite replacing the tyres with the correct size, 195/45/16, but i feel a 205 tyre would be too wide... road noise, compared to the yokohama's they seem to be quite quiet. i have to use the A180 each day, its a concrete surface duel carriageway, which was laid the wrong way (yeah i know it sounds daft... but i went along it the wrong way a couple of years ago due to road works and it was like driving on a different road.) and its bloody noisy road. grip, dry, good so far, as i expected the tyre does flex and move, but i expected this, not pushed them too hard yet, but they do give you confidence. wet, not had them out in the wet yet, so can't comment on that. they do look right at the correct pressure, the bridgestones i use in winter, are a very soft tyre, and look low on pressure when its at the correct pressure.
  9. yeah, i have the same issue, i don't know whats caused it, neither do honda, mine does pull in and out. but doesn't spin. it also appears that its the only way oil leaks out as well. i have replaced the dipstick tube, iirc only about 15 quid on back order, which was about 4wks. at the moment i've left it, as it doesn't appear to have any detrimental effect, apart from topping the oil up with fresh, which isn't a bad thing...
  10. i've had the rs2 before in 195/50/15 bloody brilliant, my only complaint about them is that the side walls were 1 ply, so you could feel the tyre moving about when turning.
  11. on my winter set of wheels, i have 195/55/15 bridgestone a001 all seasons fitted, absolutely awesome, 50mph/3rd gear on snow, foot down no slipping. couldn't even get spin out of them unless driven like a tool.. summer set. 195/45/16 Yokohama S-drive, never ever again, good in the dry, worse than the toyo t1r in the wet. just ordered a set of uniroyal rs3's and hoping that they'll be better.
  12. Got the front disks and pads on, the rears still need doing, but both carriers have a seized slider, so had to give up. Most of the juddering has gone, did notice a tight spot on the osr disk, so must be that, the rear hubs were quite rusty. And the front disks were warped and cracked. Had to hammer them off..
  13. Yep happened to me, ended up getting a set of replacement mirrors.
  14. Quick look at currant type-r's they were around 17-20k new, and at 5yrs old there going for around 10k... So about half the price, but if there a low volume car, they may lose less...

  16. ordered a set of apec disks and pads, tried and tested with my own right foot. see how these get on. i make sure the hubs are clean before i do anything else, the disks have only been on a year, and have started to judder/warp about a month ago...
  17. @Jayhoath83, there rear disks on that link, and i cant seem to find brembo front disks.... @Krzys, been on federal mogul's site who produce the ds2500 pads, they don't make them for the front.....

  19. i believe Ali, @burbleboy has had issues with mtec disks cracking, yet @UnicyclingTom has done 2/3 track day sessions on his yet no issues...
  20. getting brembo disks for the mb6/mc2 is hard, but for all the other models, you can pick them up for £30 each, currently looking at Apec braking, have used there products before and like them. one thing i have noticed is that rear disks are really cheap, and the front disks are quite high in price in comparison. Apec braking. front disks, £73 rear disks, £10 (yes a tenner, ok well 9.99 for the pair) front pads, £25 rear pads, £12 P+P £15 £135 all in. mtec front disks, £66 rear disks, £57 front pads, £26 rear pads, £13 £160, all in and after my experience with the latters disks, i'm not impressed, only about a year old, probably about 12k on them....
  21. mine are a year old, and are warped, so really not keen on them....
  22. right time for a change, got mtec disks at the front, and unknown rear disks, and EBC black stuff pads all round. and i'm not impressed with the set up, the pads produce so much dust its unreal, the rear disks are life expired, and the fronts are about a year old and are warped.... what are people recommending and using?

  24. Yeah we did, would be a good idea to get hold of a timing light and get it done so it's spot on.
