Still waiting on the insurance company/repair agency/approved repairer to pull their finger out of their arse. And talk to me about repairing it Anyway, not paid any excess, I've even had the other drivers insurance company on the phone offering to sort mine out. Took it to be assessed last Friday, wants a new bumper, crash bar and door. I did a bit of digging myself, with a lot of help from Alex, (cheers mate!) and the parts alone are pushing 1500quid... I'm not sure whats gonna happen. But I've decided that if they can't guarantee that it'll be fixed by the 23rd. They won't be getting it till 9th may. I've got too much stuff and to carry in the next 3wks to have some s**t box rental car.
  2. What ever you do, especially if your do it your self, is to buy replacement bolts before you start the job, the last thing you want is to snapped a bolt and have to wait 2days for a replacement.
  3. Volvo, not a bad car, was looking at getting a v40 instead of the deck 4yrs ago. Sorry to hear about the employment woes, things will get better!
  4. One hole drilled... All back together. Oh, thanks to @simpo for helping as he's just done the same thing to his accord
  5. Tell you what these f**kers are well bolted together! Stereo out with its cubby hole, the adapter plugged in and the wiring tidied up. Drilled a 10mm hole in the cubby hole to let the aux cable through.
  6. Mods! The heater control unit had a black mark on it, I hoped to strip and paint it but I couldn't strip the electrics out of it. So I bought a 2nd hand unit the stereo didn't have an aux port, I didn't want the hassle of changing the stereo and loosing the steering wheel controls, so I bought this. Plugs in to the back of the stereo.
  7. As you've seen else where the aerodeck has moved on to a new home. I was hoping to keep the deck and run it side by side with the crv but I was unable to find anywhere to store it. Anyway the new car. It's a 2005 Honda CR-V sport 2.0 auto 84k FSH and was a locally supplied car when new. It's a completely different drive to the deck. I've nicknamed it "the armchair" cos that is how comfy it is to drive. Pictures. Old and new... It's even got a table The powerplant It's Honda's K20a4 producing 150bhp, it pulls rather well and is well suited to the gearbox. 75mph is 3000rpm The gearbox is a 4spd auto with lock up torque converter. Matched with the Cruse control it makes for a lazy drive..
  8. Wow, I can't believe someone was gonna scrap the shell with that much history on it..
  9. Well I sold the deck on the 20 March 2016 with 201k on the clock, I hope the new owner enjoys her as much as I did. On another note, I bought the deck 4 yrs ago today.
  10. Your gonna need more than one doll, BTW his dungeon is cool!

A mate of mine asked me about them the other day, so I put a few words together and came up with this... For a start, mines a 2.0ltr petrol automatic. So I'm only doing about 25mpg on combined driving, A 2.2 diesel is available but it has its issues with the clutch and turbo. Driving, it's a nice comfy cruiser, and it has some get up and go when needed. Space, I only just fit in the drivers seat, due to leg room, there are cubby holes every where, and a wet storage area underneath the boot floor. All the seats adjust fore and back and all of them recline. The boot isn't the biggest in its class and the rear seats don't fold flat. Off road, really don't know what there like, but they seem to be one of the better ones out there, look on you tube, that'll give you an idea. Cruse control is brilliant. Especially with an auto, set ya speed and leave it to it. If you do look at one, look at getting an 2005 onwards one, as there face-lifted with better spec. Such as the diesel model being available and a 6spd manual over a 5 spd.

Will say one thing, if I'd been in the deck it would of been a write off....

Well this has gone and gotten interesting. Was at a roundabout yesterday, p**sing down with rain, went to pull out in to a gap, that then disappeared due to a car bombing round the roundabout. Next thing I know, had an audi a4 in the back of the car. The other driver had admitted liability, judging by the fact that his insurance company has offered to fix mine. It's going in on Friday to be assessed and repaired.
  15. Sounds like you had fun out there! Lucky sod on the R32 aswell.
  16. Dunno to be fair, but depending on the state of the panels you could get some money for them. Does it still have the brakes still? Cos they can be worth a fair bit.
  17. The BTCC is where it's at! Subaru are in this year!
  18. No, I don't, it happened to need one anyway as the lamp was back on.

I sold it to a Chris from Sheffield, he has a green eg that he drags races with his plans are just to run it. For the moment.

Bloody hell, mines a 2005 with 82k on the clock, will have to pull the cover off at some point, glad I bought mine from a dealer. The rear diff, change and flush the oil to honda's duel pump fluid, that seems to cure it.

That was the plan, but due to unforseen circumstance at work, I'm unable to...
