Loving this! Good work so far mate and nice job filling in the space on the doors where the original mirrors were. I like the idea of the mirros on the wings, deffo not seen that on here before! Agree that the mirrors might be a tad to big though? I take it thats daytime running lights you fitted inside the headlights?

now that looks better!

I have an old friend who is a Honda technician, I'll try and get a hold of him to see if he can shed some light on this bud.

No problem at all mate, that's what we're here for. Really thought the reset would have let you get the codes mate. Its a really strange fault and not one we've come across before. I can't think of any other way to get to the bottom of the abs problem, unless any other members have any ideas? Not sure if a failed abs ring would maybe throw this fault, possibly shorting out the abs system? Not sure as ive only ever had abs sensors failing before. Last resort will be to take it into honda and see if they can find the fault, although they'll probably charge a lot so bear that in mind.
-
Resetting it wont necessarily put the abs light off mate, but what it will hopefully do is allow you to get the code as it aint letting you at the moment. I know both these faults are to do with the brakes, but id be inclined to treat them as two separate faults. Might make tracing the problem easier.
-
bloody hell that mustve been a shock! still, suppose its a good thing in a way as that repair wouldnt have lasted and at leaxt now you know she's good for years to come. And safer!
-
Do you know if the abs is still working even with the light on? Really strange one this mate.
-
might be worth disconnecting the battery for a bit, reset the ecu (theres a guide for this too) to see if it will let you pull the code for the fault? Worst case scenario would be that the main abs unit has failed, although they tend to be pretty reliable. Has to be something stopping you getting the codes so try the ecu reset first.

The first post says the handbrake light is on all the time mate, and also the abs light meaning there are two separate faults. So there does appear to be a problem somewhere with either the handbrake switch or possibly the wiring at the swtich or at the fluid resevoir cap. It might also be the sensor for the brake fluis thats gone. The issues with the handbrake light fault should be easy enough to sort out be process of elimination. The abs fault however is going to be more complicated to resolve.

bloody hell @vti vroom ! thats the worst ive seen on a civic m mate! Fair play to you for getting it all repaired properly though.

First thing to check is your brake fluid level mate. If its low it will light up the brake warning/handbrake light. Also check the wires/plug on the brake fluid resevoir to make sure all is ok there. Last thing to check for the handbrake light fault is the actual handbrake switch. It could be the switch is faulty which would also make the light stay on but go brighter when the handbrake is applied. For the abs, you can pull the code by using the two pin diagnostic plug. Theres a how to in the forum on how to get the abs codes which will tell you where the fault is on the abs side of things. Most likely an abs sensor has failed. On saying that, not sure the 1.4 civics had abs?

Id rather own any car rather than rely on crap public transport! Who wants to stand waiting for hours on a bus that takes 2 hours to do a 15 minute car journey? Bugger that! Lol
