Set about sorting the crusty engine bay today. I stripped everything off and cleaned it all down. Then following the trend set on my deck ground all the rust off the front cross member and blacked it all. Also ground rust out of front chassis legs and painted them. Repainted the block aswell. Overall quite happy with the outcome looks decent. Put new rad stay and all new bolts in. Bumper is chucked on for now ran out of time. Oh no Sydney seagulls aerial bombardment

Got rocker cover and strut brace painted up and on. pleased with wrinkle paint. Will do eg's one the same I reckon.

Generally speaking planting your foot to the floor is a good test. The ecu will ignore the lambda at full throttle. So in theory in you have power loss and it all of a sudden improves when you go full throttle. That's po2.pointing at O2. If problem still persists at full throttle maybe look elsewhere

Weird one ay... Erm once you've finished putting your d**k in it, could you possibly try neatly wrapping ptfe tape round the end of the tube. to seal it and increase the diameter a little making it tighter.

Took all the old paint and rust off to bare metal with grinder. And painted with hammerite 'direct to rust' paint. Has an additive seems to hold rust off for sure.
-
Need to pull my finger out in this one... arb is ready to go On. Was gonna powder coat em but the only thing on the eg that wasn't rusty ways the arbs. Which I painted myself so painted it myself again. Bargain

Got a huge bag of bits at home now. Gonna get a few bits done Friday.. time is the problem now. Wanna get the gearbox of asap and replace input bearing and 4th gear. Given the exhaust manifold to welder. It's been pounded not just flat but inverted on the bottom so he's gonna chop out the bad bit and repair it to a good standard hopefully. Do slow going but will get there.

Holy smokes gonna be good fun for sure!! What ya thinking? 260bhp and bags of torque?

Burbleboy's VTi-S Build **NOW SOLD 16/12/15**

No difference mate.. b16 sumps are shallower. B18 sumps are all same. b18 has a girdle on main caps. Hence the deeper sump. -
Landrover gear oil is fine yeah. change it, you'll want new oil anyway can always drain it off and reuse it. Just wouldn't get your hopes up mate.. seriously anyone who know my gearbox history. I've been there and done that. Must have spent hundreds on MTF. Never makes any difference for me.

well done Mae! Well deserved!! @UnicyclingTom did you forget your tablets? Nominating mine. Haha. -
Looking good dude. Decent that s 2000 filter goes straight on nice!!. if ya have a get together in Leicester again give me a shout please.. my mates are too grown up for local car meets
-
common issue dude. The synchro is worn or the selector ring or the gear is chewed up. Changing the oil isnt going to stop the crunch unfortunately.. If you want to repair it. Cheapest option is to find a second hand working box. or strip down the box and repair the necessary worn/damaged parts which can be expensive especially if your paying labour.
