    I never found any in my search. Just had a look on their UK website and it doesn't look like they've got them in stock. There's a few places do custom shocks that are adjustable for classic cars etc, and the prices don't seem too bad. Just wish I'd found them before buying the current ones. I think that I've still got the original top mounts in, so thinking of replacing them and see if that makes any difference. Anyone know if they're the same as DC2?

    Finished the job this morning. Put the little rubber feet on the console instead of the rest. Lined the catch up with blue tac Marked the position, then used some really short screws. Then glued the felt in.

    Nice one. The armrest is from the 03-07 accord. Out of interest, here's some pics of the accord one in an accord. The accord console is a much chunkier piece of kit.

    Cool that's the type of thing that I was thinking about - I'm thinking of getting something like this made up from aluminium by an engineering company - about 10mm is probably what I would need.

    Feel like I'm getting there slowly but surely. Seat swap today, and feels like a big step. Love the difference these seats make - hold you in so much better, and even seems to make the ride less harsh / bouncy.

    I'm having a similar puzzle at the minute @mihaiantony. I've also got Eibach pro springs, but with Sachs standard shocks. I've had eibach springs for years, and used to run them with koni adjustable shocks. They were always too low for my set up with 17" wheels because of the width and had a lot of issues with rubbing the arch liner (do you have 17" wheels on?) Years ago, I bought some spacers off an old member on here which lifted the spring cup on the koni shocks up a bit to solve the problem, but this could only be done because the height of the koni shocks could be adjusted. The spring cup on a standard shock is in a fixed location. My koni shocks died (as did my original eibachs) but koni no longer make the shocks for the m civic, which is why I've now got oem spec shocks. I miss my konis though. The MGZS stuff seems to be a good solution, but I know there's been members on here in the past have had odd results. You're right to be looking at the 120 springs for matching the weight, but I'm not sure about mixing the 180 shocks. I'm sure @noodels would be able to help out here. One thing I'm wondering about is whether I can get my shocks modified to lift the spring cup up by a small amount, or whether a different top mount could have the same effect - I don't think I need much more clearance maybe 10-15 mm. If anyone else has any thoughts it'd be useful to hear.

    Been out and about quite a lot today, and have to say that it's great! It's usable, and didn't notice any awkwardness using the handbrake. Nice cheap mod.

    Done! Can actually use it as an armrest while driving! Moved the hinge forward about 30mm on the armrest to move it back a bit so it wasn't interfering with the handbrake as much. Also, to hide the hinge when looking from behind. Ended up using some bigger spacers than the ones on this pic, and used these ones to help support where the hinge sits on the centre console. This meant that the tray under the rest stuck out... So chopped out the same amount as I moved the hinge forward. Then glued it together and strengthened it with some wooden bead. Could do with finishing it to hide the joint I'm going to add the catch and the little rubber feet off the old armrest so that it sits in place nicer, but for now I've just popped some draft excluder tape on to support the front a bit more. Have to slide the rest back to be able to use the handbrake, but I don't think that will be a problem.

    Cheers man. Yeah, after not being in the civic for so long, and driving the accord, the rediculousnes of the armrest was really noticeable. Got one coming from the bay of E so I'll see how it goes.

    Quick update - not that my mystery bug is all but gone, I finally got round to getting the 4 wheel alignment done with a 'fast road' set up. I could tell that it was out, but it must have been quite out. The fronts in particular had camber and toe issues. To be fair, the garage that did the resto were going to get it done for me, but with the MOT snag, they weren't able to. It drives like it's on rails now

    Quite sad to see that ford is stopping making the mondeo soon. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-56526468 The article says that it's in response to the massive increase in SUV / crossover demand. Follows the lead of others I suppose - including honda not selling the new model accord over here. I personally don't really get the whole SUV thing, and when I was cleaning the deck last weekend for the first time in a few years after it being away so long, I was struck by how small it seemed. When I first bought it in 2006 it seemed like a big car. That was coming from a Toyota carina (with the biggest boot ever) as my previous car, and the wife's car at the time was a pug 106. I've driven quite a few cross overs / SUVs as hire cars with work in the last few years, and none of them have really clicked. They are okay for motorway miles, but just don't engage me anywhere else. I'm always shocked at how such big cars can have such a small boot - especially when you compare them to the cavernous boot of the outgoing mondeo. Also, the whole SUV thing seems to be at odds with the drive for more environmental motoring - bigger, heavier, less aerodynamic.. Must impact on range / performance of electrification. I guess the only thing is it probably makes it easier to hide a load of batteries under the floor. Just feels like a shame that these type of cars have fallen out of fashion, so people can drive around up in the air, thinking that they're in a wide car, not just a tall car. No offence to anyone who drives an SUV, but personally, they're not for me.

    Been doing a bit of an experiment... I've never understood why the arm rest on the centre console is basically unusable for me when I'm driving. The one in the accord is much better positioned, and extends. So, quick test fit... Extended: Bit worried about overhang, and not being able to use the window switches easily.. But also thinking about doing a frankenstein arm rest using the standard top, but the sliding bracket.

    I found that with the rear heko ones especially - they didn't seem to want to stay in at all. I added a bit of double sided tape to the tabs on the ends as it looked like there'd been some there before.

    Couple of nice upgrade parts fitted today that have been hiding in my garage for yonks... With thanks to @Gel for sending them up all that time ago, destined for tubs. Some nice new civic finishers... And some tasty climair wind deflectors.

    The stalks are the other way around - like on EGs etc. Much better being able to indicate and change gear at the same time. I'm sure that someone said once that the reason that most cars are the other way around is because all euro cars are that way for LHD, so it was considered safer to adopt the same configuration. I think that there's still something screwy with the wiring for the lights stalk.. When I plugged the larger connection back in it made the horn sound... I guess this is why the fogs don't work.

    Starting to feel a bit more normal today, so set about trying to sort a few gremlins out. Screen wash wasn't working, so after a bit of investigation it turned out that there's a non return valve that had been fitted the wrong way around when the garage fitted my bonnet... No big deal, but I do need to replace a few of the fittings as there's a couple of leaks and snapped clips. Grant had done the JDM stalk swap, which I'm pretty pleased about as it's the right way around, but the rear wipers weren't working. I thought easiest thing would be to swap my old stalks on, so whipped them off tubs, and went to fit them, then noticed that the plug for the rears wasn't connected... So I snipped some cable off the loom in tubs and extended the plug to reach the other side - job done. This also seems to have stopped the horn sounding when the fog lights are turned on, but now the front fog lights don't seem to want to stay on when you press the switch.
