Defo worth checking ignition timing .. But this has started after the mani & decat .. You shouldn't have hit the timing doing that .. Wonder whether the mani & decat combo just doesn't agree with engine .. What size collector is on it? 2.25" as with the rest of the system?

is a 3 door though so the weight would be a lot.. plus windows were stupidly heavy.. Replaced with Perspex Just half a dash on the drivers side

You need some form of dash ! Even if its just to tidy up the wires etc underneath ! You could also gut it though When I built the EK (although a 3 door) some of the biggest weight saving was done in the doors! Shit they were heavy ! Chopped the lot out, only the skins remain and save something silly like 19kg between the two !

Completely depends what you 1 - make it from and 2 - how extensive you want/need it .. You think, a "normal" 6 point cage, yes id agree, probably just under standard .. But you go all out and extend into the towers in the front, x brace the doors, gusset plates etc etc then it could well work out more ..
