Right, more questions on suspension The current suspension setup on my MB3 Front: 40mm EG lowering springs on MB shocks Rear: Standard EG springs on MB shocks Now as some of you may know, the rear end of my car is sitting lower than the front. So I would like to lower the front slightly. So I was wondering if front EG shocks are shorter than the MB shocks? If so, would it help lower the front end fitting lowering springs on EG shocks? Hope that makes sense, cheers people

Ah I seen this car a few times on Facebook. It was going to get broken for parts a few times! I have to admit those green wheels were god awful... Good buy and good save mate

Good news on the MOT! Shame about the wheels but that shouldn't take much to buffen them up again. Glad I'm not the only one who likes 14" wheels on Civic's. I got 14" Speedlines on my MB3 and think they look perfect Any photos of your MA8 on those Compomotive CXN honeycombs?- 883 replies

I absolutely love that oldskool 4g! The colour, wheels and everything looked soo damn good! As for your MGZS, again it looks spot on lowered with those wheels. What are they? BBS's?
-
Cheers Stephen! Not sure if I like the new one or the old one!

She looks the part and looking very smart on those wheels -
Wow that came up nice with a glimpse of Pirates Black Do I see an MA Civic in the reflection?
-
Oh wow they came up nice! I will be using lacquer on my wheels
-
^^What Adam said! You can use 40mm springs on standard MB shocks but the MGZS shocks are far better. I didn't know Euro Car parts sell lowering springs for our M's though!! http://www.eurocarparts.com/lowering-spring

Apparently those 170 quid coilovers are quite good. I member on here (Fyfie5) has them on his MB2 for a good few years without any problems. Yeah I learned the hard way. But then it would've only cost me £60 if I didn't buy those sleeves Yeah that is my main worry. I hope bottom of the spring sits on the sleeve adjuster and hope it fits too! I will give it a go this week
-
haha yer that's true. Cost me 40 quid for the EG 40mm Cobra springs, 40 quid for the sh!tty sleeves and 20 quid for the rear standard EG springs. So it's costing me £100 for used parts which are not quite working for me yet. I could of just bought myself 40mm lowering springs which are specially made for a MB for £120 brand new!
-
Umm... yeah you're probably better off spending a few extra £££ coilovers. But because I cannot afford coilovers at the moment, I decided to go for lowering springs for cheap option. But obviously it's been nothing but a complete c0ck up for me
-
Sleeves can cause a bouncy ride depending how low you have set and more than likely blow the shocks. If you're going to use coilover sleeves, the best thing to do is use aftermarket shocks / dampers / struts (whatever you want to call them) Another thing, the coils which comes with the sleeves are very short which is the main reason why it destroys the shocks. That is why I will be using EG lowering springs on sleeves because they're longer and a lot stiffer That's the theory anyway. I just hope the EG lowering springs fit flush on the sleeves
-
What you mean? What are the cons of using sleeves?
-
Got a pic of the sleeves and shocks. They look pretty rough but I will be removing these springs and fit the EG lowering springs. See how they hold You will have to excuse the messy boot... Better photos on how the Civic is sitting

Nice! My oleman use to have a MK1 Bandit 600. You can throw that thing into the corners! He's now got a Yamaha XJ1200
